Speaking of ads, another one for Wonder popped up, giving us a much clearer picture of Mario's new voice.

It sounds close enough, so I'm OK with it.
New voice of Mario has he/him pronouns in his bio on Twatter. Also he sounds nothing like Mario imo

I'm glad there's some backlash. I'm surprised they even changed the art for the Jap version at all, kinda assumed this was a western only alteration.

Everything else about him seems fine, though. Even the Twitter.
Pronouns in bio is troon shit.

Wasn't Sim City basically a downport of a superior PC game?
.... Dude the SNES version is superior in every way. the only PC release that might be better is the Enhanced CD-ROM and that's only if you like cheesy FMVs.

That port really sucks but somehow Japanese kids were able to play it and hallucinate that it was like the arcade game so it became legendary. It was at least ahead of its time in that it had an N64-like frame rate.
I was lucky--I never played the Ghosts n' Goblins games until getting the PS2 Capcom Classics Collection ports. When I went back and played the NES port of the first game, I was like "this is horrible, how can this port be so botched?"

I can see people getting confused in the 1980s or just plain not having the arcade to compare to, but there's a lot of little things that ruin the NES version to me.

At least the Commodore 64 version had a unique soundtrack, geez.

(NES SimCity kind of sucked)
... there's an NES Simcity?

What genre is Rogue, though?
Hair Loss Simulator.

>thot and reeee were banned in all languages
LOL. That actually made me laugh
So do you have to type "reee" with specifically four e's, or can you get around it by typing REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE? Or will it false positive on things like saying "Resident Evil"?

I tried playing a platformer on the Switch and it was the most awkward thing. The screen is small enough to where you can't focus on what's happening, and large enough to the point where you can't fit the thing in your fucking pocket. Aside from that, playing with the joycons attached is also very clunky. The buttons are way too small and their layout is weird too. Why did they have to split the B/A/Y/X buttons in half?

I guess you're supposed to set it down and play with an actual controller, but that's fucking retarded too. You're never going to find a flat enough area to set the fucking console down while you're out, and the screen wasn't meant to be viewed from such a distance. I won't make the switch from an emulator to a legal way of playing, unless they release a home console again.

Which platformer have you played, and am I assuming you were using the OG Switch? OLED Switch does have a larger screen (minimizing the bezels of the unit) and it has an actual kickstand for tablet mode instead of the joke in the former model. That won't entirely eliminate the problem of certain games having a small UI, but OLED is a straight improvement nonetheless for people who primarily use the console as something portable.

The hybrid format will stick for the successor anyway, simply because the gap which separates portable consoles and dedicated home consoles is only getting narrower.

Maybe he means the Dpad being buttons, which is gay. But the actual buttons are just the same as the 3ds buttons in feel and size.
Its gay but they did it for a reason, its for multiplayer games where you use the d-pad buttons as a makeshift button set. They fix it on the pro controller, which I have to use anyway because of my uttery mssive (aka normal adult-sized) hands.

Mario Wonder got leaked and is up on all the piracy sites. Turns out my guess about the system update was wrong as it requires fw 16.0.3 at a minimum. It's 3.5gb, maybe I'll try it out but I don't really like Mario platformers too much.

The voices sound bad.

There are no stage timers or points anymore at all.

They're quite a bit smaller than the 3DS XL buttons.

I think they're fine as a compromise for space but I almost always use HORI Split Pad Fit since those came out last year. The bigger buttons and normal size analog sticks make 3D action games tolerable in handheld mode, and the real dpad is essential even if there are other ways to get there.

Huh, they are, never actually noticed. 3ds buttons are the same size across all units, but the Joycon buttons are like 2/3rds the size or around that, but they are taller.
