Exactly. Anyone expecting Nintendo to support the Switch for the next two the three years or to make it a "second pillar" is reading too much into what was said or jumping to invalid conclusions. Nintendo will do with the Switch what they did with the N64, Gamecube, and Wii before them; they will release whatever games they still have in development and didn't see fit to move to the Switch 2, maybe make some games cross-platform releases, since most consoles do have a few of those around their release windows. But Nintendo development support will wrap up by the beginning of 2025, assuming the Switch 2 does release in the expected window of late 2024. Third party support will continue for awhile, until Nintendo eventually announces the end of Switch production, probably sometime late 2025 or early to mid 2026. By that point, the Switch 2 will be established and almost all third party development would have moved to it. Going back to that video I posted earlier and what it said earlier, it stated that there had already been scattered reports that most companies have already moved the bulk of their development to the Switch 2, Panic Button included. That's probably to be expected at this point. But if history is any indication, that “March 2025” figure means they plan to be done with the Switch by the Switch 2’s release in late 2024, then round up to the end of the fiscal year in case there are any unforeseen delays. Maybe one or two minor/cross-platform games released after November 2024, but that’s it.

I never even owned a Wii U because I don't care about consoles.
You are very much so ignoring both Nintendo's own statements in regards to transitioning the Switch (economic) ecosytem and how it treated the 3DS in the Switch’s early life. Personally, I expect the Switch to stop getting prestige titles (or get gimped dual release versions) but to still get cheap ports and remakes/remadters until the end of 2025. Possibly one more "in-betweener" Pokemon title too.Exactly. GBA and 3DS are the only Nintendo systems* (not counting the early NES and Super Famicom) that kept getting big first party releases long after their successors were out. Coincidentally, their successors (DS and Switch) are the two systems that were radically different to the point where Nintendo referred to them as third pillars. In other words, supporting a system long after its successor is out is an exception that they only take when there’s a major shift. You are very much so ignoring both Nintendo's own statements in regards to transitioning the Switch (economic) ecosytem and how it treated the 3DS in the Switch’s early life. I mean, that's not too different from what I said. The only really difference is I think first party support will wrap up around the beginning of 2025, you think it will last to the end. But when I say that Switch will stop getting first party support, I mean it will largely stop getting any new games, not that Nintendo will immediately announce the end of said support. And this largely follows with how Nintendo treated the 3DS. Allow me to explain. You are very much so ignoring both Nintendo's own statements in regards to transitioning the Switch (economic) ecosytem and how it treated the 3DS in the Switch’s early life. Thats what I think the Switch will get, maybe with some crossgen thrown in. Just because you don't like that stuff or find it boring doesn't mean it wasn't support.2018 releases
There is no way they could keep Switch relevant for a decade more, even 5 more years seems unlikely. It's doing fine currently, but there's 2-3 years max left in the tank before a successor would absolutely need to be released.Nintendo has no real viable competition, so they can skirt this along for 5-10 more years and STILL make a profit.
Yeah, I agree with what you've been saying, it seems pretty obvious how things will go. The support might not be particularly strong but Switch 1 will remain supported for a while after Switch 2 releases.Thats what I think the Switch will get, maybe with some crossgen thrown in. Just because you don't like that stuff or find it boring doesn't mean it wasn't support.
Calling what Nintendo gave the 3DS in 2018 "support" is a bad joke and shows we are working on two entirely different definitions of support. Seven games, one of which is just a late international release, one of which was a B-team remake, two others of which are late ports of games that game out over ten years before is not really "supporting" a console. Its doing the bare minimum to keep it on life support, if even that. They gave the 3DS bottom of the barrel shit and pretended like they were "supporting" it.Thats what I think the Switch will get, maybe with some crossgen thrown in. I don't know why anyone thinks the Switch can last 10+ years. Unless they just want Nintendo to wait to release a successor around when Xbox and Playstation release theirs. There is no way they could keep Switch relevant for a decade more, even 5 more years seems unlikely. No one's arguing the Switch can last 10 more years. Only that Switch sales are still consistent and that Nintendo is going to ride that wave of profits as long as they can. That's why we're not getting a Switch 2 until 2025.Calling what Nintendo gave the 3DS in 2018 "support" is a bad joke and shows we are working on two entirely different definitions of support. I think the switch 2 is coming next year myself. But It would be pretty funny if they stretch it for another couple years and it gets more ports like the recent mortal kombat. There is no way they could keep Switch relevant for a decade more, even 5 more years seems unlikely. I'm disappointed the Switch never got themes.
There is no indication whatsoever that the Switch 2 is coming out in 2025 over 2024.No one's arguing the Switch can last 10 more years. I'm not sure I'd call it bottom of the barrel, but it was clearly not their focus. If you really want to see what bottom of the barrel looks like then check out the Vita's support, here's the last of what Sony published for it according to Wikipedia:They gave the 3DS bottom of the barrel shit and pretended like they were "supporting" it.
Yeah, I think delaying the Switch 2 for too long could lead to Nintendo losing relevance, and that could let the other consoles get their shit together. They have no games so a Nintendo release in the next year or so with great launch titles could really cement Nintendo's position at the top for a long time.I don't know why anyone thinks the Switch can last 10+ years. Unless they just want Nintendo to wait to release a successor around when Xbox and Playstation release theirs.
It's fairly likely, but we could see an early 2025 release too.I think the switch 2 is coming next year myself. But It would be pretty funny if they stretch it for another couple years and it gets more ports like the recent mortal kombat.
Learn to fucking read and stop listening to leakers. There is no indication whatsoever that the Switch 2 is coming out in 2025 over 2024.

You know, trannies are just like the Switch except, there's no real switching involved, you can't take them out in public, and each time you push its buttons, they'll try to rape you.Emulation has a natural overlap with transgenderism, as they are both about pretending to be something you aren’t.
The idea of switch 2 sucks. Nintendo. Another portable console with prehistoric hardware that can only emulatr cartoonish graphics well. The Wii U was a disaster. They need to innovate with a newer more powerful console. No one's arguing the Switch can last 10 more years.
