a nice new shiny controller for your vidya

The vidya can wait, nigger.
I know, it was a rhetorical question lol. I quite like the joycons I have, and don't really have multi-player games that I need more to play with others.

Price in Canada is $65 vs ¥3909 for a physical copy from Japan (both pre tax). At current exchange rate ¥3909 is $35. This is not an outlier and the exchange rate makes this extra nutty but even when $1CAD bought 75 yen it was still was a good deal.

This is why half my switch game shelf is 日本版.
I do have some physicals (mostly large-sized titles or with "cartridge-exclusive" content) but my game library is mainly digital as it's personally more convenient that way, alongside of not having to deal with shipping rates. Games are stupidly cheap in Japan, outside of RPG titles and ADV/visual novels, thanks to the low value of the yen currency.

We've been playing Pikmin 4 which is very good except for any time anyone talks which makes it a total slog. All the characters are ugly, uninteresting, have nothing worth saying, and are better off not talking. Worse when they do talk you get some of that awful dehumanizing newspeak "they/them" thrown in for good measure. Also the game tries to tutorialize worse than Wii Skyward Sword. Everything else about it is excellent.
I've played the demo a bit and it's different from the other games (especially 3 which was heavily macro-management), such as being limited to 20 Pikmin in the beginning and the space dog who is able to destroy obstacles/acting like a transport. The abundance of dialogues does indeed make it a bit of a slog compared to the previous games though.
The english newpseak wouldn't surprise me though.

The vidya can wait, nigger.

VGP does have good deals on stuff but for newer stuff they are no different.

I have mostly been living abroad from the time of the Switch launch so 3/4 of my Switch games are either HK Chinese, EU (cause of HK), 日本版, or 한국인.

Tranny thinks they could make their dream Mii creator for a Tomodachi Life Switch port. Oh yeah, they're not even 18 and they're a trans girl....damn. But I guess I could at least make an accurate tranny with this idea. https://nitter.net/LumaHoneyy/status/1683704783885017090

I'm surprised it doesn't allow you to choose your mental disorders and victim identities.

I'm playing thru the Witch on the Holy Night VN now. The fast forward controls are a little jank, but I'm going fast thru the VN. The OLED screen really brings out the detail, and the SD card is handling it well

I'm gonna call it, they're gonna use "le current thing" they're supporting as part of their profiles.

As soon as I saw that headline I checked out of reading it. Why wouldn't the next system not have the ability to play switch games? Unless however, they get rid of using cartridges and went back to discs again. But, that would be clunky on a handheld device.

He is arguing about security breaches, not creating confusion like the Wii U, and for Nintendo to resell Switch games.

I doubt any Switch outings would be worth a deluxe edition beyond Smash, and I would argue that they shouldn’t even do that.

Soapbox: 'Switch 2' Doesn't Really Need Backwards Compatibility

Gaming journoscum being journoscum, as per usual. At least most of the comments are dunking on the article

Ahhh more quality content from the professionals at NintendoLife.

If the switch 2 isn't B/C nintendo will have another wii u on their hands. I think (Hope?) they know that too.
While I think it would be crazy for them to not have BC, I don’t in anyway think it would give them another Wii U, which if you remembered also had BC and was still a failure. BC wasn’t even a issue for the system, it was lack of releases and zero third party support from even small time companies like Falcom etc.

Reality is switch has such a massive library for it not to have BC would hurt the sales substantially. As much as the wii u? Probably not, Worse they would resell us all the game on switch again which I don't see sitting well with anymore. Thats a fact. If it does have B/C more people wouldn't have an issue with buying it.

Just want to say that I had one of those genuine “Why did no one tell me this until now?” moments when I did some random research on Postal, and found out that Postal Redux was a remake on the first Postal, and it’s available on the Switch.

The only downside, or upside depending on who you are: the original dev staff cut out the scene of the main character attempting to go to a playground and shoot children, and while none of the bullets actually kill kids, the MC ends up not just demoralized, but also collapsing and gone to a psych ward that makes him look like he’s suffering through his own paranoia

Has anyone played this and liked the new version, or is it just okay?

I mean I love Nintendo but we all know those nip fucks will re-sell us Switch games even if the Switch 2 or whatever has BC. They will say it has Switch 2 special features or some shit lol. Why play the boring Switch version of Mario Odyssey when you can play the Switch 2 version now with Funky Kong! I mean remember the Wiis New Play Control editions they released even though you could just play the GameCube versions, but now you can waggle!

Edit: You know thinking about it Nintendo have always kinda been re-selling fags, I mean they’ve been doing it at least since the SNES and remember when the GBA came out and they released all those NES/SNES games? Fuck my first game for the GBA was the port of SMB 2 lol.
