I know from your other posts that you are retarded but you don't have to show it to everyone by saying PC is a console.
Technically it is. Just one that puts the 3ds/2ds/new/xl confusion to shame.

nowhere because all they did was combine their existing output onto one system so that there weren't anymore droughtsThe argument was where the fuck are all the games that should have resulted when they did so?
We got the same amount of shit, just spread out over two different consoles at any given time. Most of the 3-4 years you're remembering is including spin-offs.I never thought people would get so upset by some guy on the Internet who likes Mario Bros., Mario Kart and Zelda going, "Man I miss when we used to get a new one of those every 3-4 years as opposed to once a decade."
I thought my description kind of said it all, haha. It was a mobile game disguised as a 3DS one. Loads of grinding for shitty virtual points that you used to get mediocre rewards while always connected to the internet. It wasn't anywhere near as fun as Rumble Blast's story campaign- primarily because from what I remember World didn't even have one- and the multiplayer was INFINITELY worse (which was my main sticking point since i played the shit out of Blast's).How so? I didn’t play it, but the Wii Rumble was great, and the Wii U and actual mobile Rumble were also good.
To be fair, I completely forgot about Superstars. I saw its reveal, took one look at the price and the content, and ignored it lol. I'm sure it's good, if only by virtue of being directly connected to earlier titles in the series, but i've never played it and haven't heard anyone bring it up since shortly after it released lol.
My bad, I was thinking of Blast. I forgot that World even existed, which is saying something I suppose.I thought my description kind of said it all, haha. It was a mobile game disguised as a 3DS one. Maybe I just follow Mario Party closer, but it's widely considered to be on-par with the N64 games, or at least very close. Well worth the price, and easily the best Mario Party in about 20 years. The only major issue is that there are only five boards, but they're all good ones.To be fair, I completely forgot about Superstars. Yeah, Blast was good. It sucks how Rumble got like 2 decent games and then went to shit. Even Mystery Dungeon had Super before bowing out.My bad, I was thinking of Blast. I forgot that World even existed, which is saying something I suppose.
Honestly I thought that was just because it kind of was old Mario Party, not because it was something that was both new and good.Maybe I just follow Mario Party closer, but it's widely considered to be on-par with the N64 games, or at least very close. Uh, no we're not. There were a lot of 3DS games. Nintendo published around 200 titles for Wii U and 3DS combined. They have published just over 100 for Switch. That includes first and second party games, third party games they published, remakes and ports, but not Virtual Console games or Switch Online retro titles. Unless you think they will pump out another 100 Switch games, what you're saying is not true. I don't care to comb through the meta critic data or separate first party, second party, third party that Nintendo just published and remakes. If someone cares to do up a proper tally to prove me wrong, I welcome it, but based on a cursory glace, it seems like we're actually getting a little over half the content we did last generation. We got the same amount of shit, just spread out over two different consoles at any given time. I'm not getting as much new bing bing wahoo as I'd like.
I say even the Quality vs. Quantity argument is subjective. Many 3DS titles were quite good, they just weren't AAA experiences, they were handheld experiences. Now, you can argue that the Switch is getting more AAA quality experiences than the Wii U, and I'd say you would overall be correct. Now, if you count that entire era, Wii U and 3DS combined, far more games were being made, but maybe not as many AAA quality games. The Wii/DS era had far more games than any other era before or since, but both those consoles were SD consoles in an era when many companies were struggling to make the transition to HD, so games came out at a faster clip and were both cheaper and easier to produce.QUALITY VS QUANTITY
Of course it is- that's why I wanted to stop arguing in the first place haha. There's plenty of stuff I like on 3DS and plenty I don't on Switch, I just think that there's a higher good-to-bad game ratio on the Switch as opposed to the 3DS/Wii U which is why I disagreed.even the Quality vs. Quantity argument is subjective
Right, but I think there's an objective argument to made that the quantity of games has decreased, even if the quality has gotten better. I wouldn't even say that quality has gotten better, its only seemingly gotten more consistent, because with fewer games being made, a lot of middling titles aren't being produced that would otherwise fill release dates, but what's getting released is still as good as releases back in the day were.Of course it is-
Understatement of the fucking century. Once you took time to explore and dig through the eShop, you were rewarded with some REALLY fun shit... some of which you couldn't play anywhere else, and alot of it 3rd party stuff. Many 3DS titles were quite good
I'm not really upset at all. I was just pointing out that despite merging the line, we still haven't gotten a brand new Mario Kart in a decade and I guess someone took exception to it and I like arguing on the Internet so it turned into a whole thing.I don't really care if you're upset over that because it just means our priorities are different
Well, yes and no. I prefer something like 3D World/Land to Odyssey, but it is entirely subjective and I would not argue Odyssey is not a well made game. I just got two games I liked a lot last generation as opposed to one I am sort of meh on this generation. However, if you like Odyssey better, your assessment will be different.(I thought you were trying to paint the Switch generation as being overall worse for not having more instead of just saying "yeah I preferred it when there were more", sorry about that).
It kind of is, but there are enough changes to make it more than just "the old games but HD". Mechanical changes, good new minigame modes, a heavy focus on online, subtle changes to the board layouts, that sort of thing. Enough to make it a different experience from just playing the originals.Honestly I thought that was just because it kind of was old Mario Party, not because it was something that was both new and good.
No, I'm counting Gamecube in that assessment. It really is that good. That, and "the best Mario Party in 20 years" is a low bar, assuming you meant "since 8".
Well, the first quarter of the game certainly was entertaining; then it went through the motions after you got captured in the desert.Mario and Luigi Paper Jam was a desperate crossover that sold like shit and squandered its concept
People love Conquest on account for the difficulty; but it's widely hated for trying to copy what made Awakening popular (which was the final chance for the series)Fire Emblem Fates was a rip-off with a horrible storythat I still like fuck youand, as far as I'm aware, is the worst-received title in the series
True, but Warriors is still an good source of mindless fun where the Olympic games are an actual cash grab.
- Hyrule Warriors was a spin-off
- Mario & Sonic was a spin-off
If that's what I think it is, this one was is irrefutable proof that Nintendo's fanbase is clinically retarded.Mario Party Star Rush was a post-8 Mario Party title
Heard of it, felt like Game Freak was angrily rattling the tip jar for some spare change.Pokémon Rumble World was a mobile game disguised as a 3DS game + a spin-off
Never heard of it, not surprised that it exists.Mario Maker 3DS was a terrible port that killed half the reason to play the game and ran like ass
To be fair, it was going on an downward spiral since X & Y. This particular pair barely had anything wrong with, apart from being kind of short and uneventful.Pokémon Sun and Moon were well-received at the time, but still had vocal criticism against them and are now considered "part of the downfall" by many
It's actually pretty decent, but it's also kind of stale, in a way.The only arguably well-received title was Kirby: Planet Robobot
I mean I'm planning on getting MK8 sometime to play with the nephews; played it with friends, it's loads of fun and a good racing game. Why change gears when it's running well?It still doesn't make sense to me that they could develop 7 and 8 within something like a five-year span start to finish, and yet don't have the resources to release a full sequel nearly a decade later because of a phone game, an RC car and some DLC.
I think the real reason there is no new Mario Kart is because 8 is still selling like hot cakes. Hard to blame Nintendo for not putting the resources into something new if they're still making money on 8, but it doesn't scratch my itch, personally. Part of a fun for a new game like that for me is getting to fuck around with the new mechanics they've come up with, so new tracks just aren't the same.
Mario Kart 64 was pretty good and loads of fun. Why bother to make Double Dash?I mean I'm planning on getting MK8 sometime to play with the nephews; played it with friends, it's loads of fun and a good racing game. Why change gears when it's running well?
Man, this was the worst causality of that era. I genuinely enjoyed the series up until Dream Team and used to really look forward to the new releases. I don't know what the fuck happened over at Alpha Dream that made the series go to complete shit. The Superstar Saga remake wasn't bad, but Dream Team and Paper Jam? Oh boy.And it's worth mentioning that AlphaDream went bankrupt after remaking the first and third games on the 3DS
I remember the Wii U as a kid, being a constant shelf warmer. Yeah, I'm in that category of wanting to experience these older games, because that old Nintendo software still rocks. Hell I've played the SNES Mario cart on my brother in laws SNES, its quite fun even today.Mario Kart 64 was pretty good and loads of fun. Why bother to make Double Dash?
Just because a game is good, doesn't mean I don't want anything new ever. I don't really blame Nintendo for not making a new one when 8 is selling well, and I don't expect a special little game just for me. I'm just saying I've had Mario Kart 8 since it dropped for Wii U in 2014. I've played it to death and I'm ready for something new, personally.
Wii U only pushed around 13 million units. Even if every single person who owned a Wii U bought a Switch, they're only 10% of Switch owners. I don't blame Nintendo for rereleasing Wii U games instead of making new one in certain series, as the Switch has an audience of at least 100 million that have never owned a Wii U. Doesn't mean it isn't kind of shitty if you're a fan of those specific series and you already played all those games when Switch was just a twinkle in Iwata's eye. I am married and have school-aged children, but I was engaged and did not have any kids at all when I originally played Mario Kart 8. It is that old. If you never played a lot of these rereleased Wii U games on their original platform and you enjoy them, cool! I really enjoyed them too. Doesn't do a whole lot for me now, though.
And this is probably a big difference maker. You are at least 15-20 years younger than me. Your perception of time changes as you age. With a lot of those Wii U games it feels like I just played them.I remember the Wii U as a kid,
For me, that would be with the Wii and Xbox One lol. The Wii was the childhood console, and let me tell you, I got my hours in on Lego Star Wars. And this is probably a big difference maker. Maybe so, but it wasn't relevant to the topic so I ignored itAnd it's worth mentioning that AlphaDream went bankrupt after remaking the first and third games on the 3DS
disagree, the first two Olympic games were pretty damn good and I've heard 2016 is also acceptableTrue, but Warriors is still an good source of mindless fun where the Olympic games are an actual cash grab.
I really really really hope you're jokingIf that's what I think it is, this one was is irrefutable proof that Nintendo's fanbase is clinically retarded.
Yeah, it sucks.Heard of it, felt like Game Freak was angrily rattling the tip jar for some spare change.
Haha, no. There is so, so much wrong with Sun/Moon. I could- and probably have, at some point- write an essay on exactly why replaying this game is like pulling teeth. To be fair, it was going on an downward spiral since X & Y. This particular pair barely had anything wrong with, apart from being kind of short and uneventful.
Yeah, this is actually something I never hear over the constant glowing praise and i'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it lol. Robobot is the third in a trilogy of games that all kind of just play like each other, even if they have their own distinct gimmicks/copy ability selection/aesthetic design to set them apart. It's the closest Kirby ever got to New Super Mario Bros and it was very much an exhausted formula by the time Star Allies came around and made that exhaustion even worse. It's actually pretty decent, but it's also kind of stale, in a way.
