I might be reading it wrong, but Nintendo has been partnering with other companies (Koei-Tecmo/Omega-Force, Ruby Party, MAGES, Platinum, MercurySteam, Next Level Games) in developing their first-party games for this Switch era so far.

Nintendo is not exactly isolated. Hell, the sheer amount of advertisement I see from the official japanese Nintendo channel(s), towards (even the smallest) third-parties & indies, shows they really do care in establishing business relationships with others more than ever. The question however is if they plan on keeping that strategy across future generations.
I had huge multi-page discussion about this in this thread (or it may have been the Sony sucks thread? Can't remember). Nintendo have relied on Second and third party developers to augment their own meager development capacity since at least the Gamecube. The problem is that many of the companies they relied on straight up went out of business or no longer work with them. They've been relying heavily on Bandai Namco and Koei Tecmo (who also own Ruby Party and Omega Force) to fill in the gaps. They aren't partnering with Next Level Games anymore; they outright own them now.

Getting in Monster Hunter Rise today to play with my friend who's a BIG Monster Hunter fan, and probably gonna order Bayonetta 2 in a couple weeks, all nice solid copies. Also my case and Nyko charging cable came; the case fits like a glove and the cable is a nice 8 feet long and charges well from what I can tell

After all that, probably will focus on getting another pair of joycons, either the red and blue or the watermelon ones, because I find the watermelon ones funny

I take it Prime 4 is forever in development hell? It's almost been 7 years now and its been rebooted at least once.
It will just not come out and would be made as something else. I can make that type of prediction right now

I love how back in 2017 people speculated that consolidating Nintendo's handheld and console lines into one system would result in freeing up development recourses and result in more games and then we didn't get a new Mario Kart for a fucking decade. I want to consume product, Nintendo. Please input product. At least they are finally giving me a new 2D Mario to waste my money on.

Would have loved for Nintendo to have made a sequel to Mario Odyssey, like they did with Galaxy. I'd also like to see a new 3D Wario game, Wario World on the Gamecube was fun.

Charles Martinet Will No Longer Be The Voice Of Mario

It is a sad day in bing-bing-wahoo land, bois.
The end of an era.

And they were fucking right to say so. Nintendo has managed to get at least one big game out per quarter damn near like clockwork and we never really had that with previous releases.

AFAIK Nintendo is not publishing games at anywhere near the clip it was in previous generations where it had a home console and a handheld both being supported at the same time.

I dug up a list. It's not a be-all end-all. It's just for discussion's sake. Here is a list of Nintendo Switch physical releases being published by Nintendo this year:

Fire Emblem Engage - 2023
Metroid Prime Remastered - 2023
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe - 2023
Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon - 2023
Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp - 2023
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - 2023
Pikmin 4 - 2023
Super Mario RPG - 2023
Super Mario Bros. Wonder - 2023

That's nine announced physical releases. Four of them are remakes.

But OK, we are late in the Switch's lifecycle at this point. Here is a list of releases from 2019, two years in:

Fitness Boxing - 2019 (Outside Japan)
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe - 2019
Yoshi's Crafted World - 2019
Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04 VR Kit- 2019
Super Mario Maker 2 - 2019
Dragon Quest Builders 2 - 2019 (Outside Japan)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order - 2019
Fire Emblem: Three Houses - 2019
Astral Chain - 2019
Tetris 99 - 2019
DAEMON X MACHINA - 2019 (Outside Japan)
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - 2019
Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - 2019 (Outside of Japan)
Ring Fit Adventure - 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 - 2019
Pokémon Sword and Shield - 2019
Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training for Nintendo Switch - 2019

17 Releases. A few here like Dragon Quest Builders and Dragon Quest XI were developed by third parties and just published by Nintendo outside Japan. There are two remakes.

For reference here is a list of Gamecube & GBA games published by Nintendo in 2003, two years into each console's respective life.

1080° Avalanche - 2003
F-Zero GX - 2003
Kirby Air Ride - 2003
The Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition - 2003
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest - 2003
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - 2003
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour - 2003
Mario Kart: Double Dash‼ - 2003
Mario Party 5 - 2003
Pokémon Channel - 2003
Wario World - 2003
GiFTPiA - 2003

Nintendo Puzzle Collection - 2003
Donkey Kong Country - 2003
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - 2003
Fire Emblem - 2003
Golden Sun: The Lost Age - 2003
Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak - 2003
Hamtaro: Rainbow Rescue - 2003
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - 2003
Pokémon Sapphire - 2003
Pokémon Ruby - 2003
Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire - 2003
Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 - 2003
Sword of Mana - 2003
Top Gear Rally - 2003
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! - 2003
Mother 1 + 2 - 2003
Densetsu no Starfy 2 - 2003
Densetsu no Starfy 3 - 2003

30 Releases. When you take out crap like Master Quest and Pokemon Channel, that's still North of 25 games, with a handful of remakes and games developed by third parties that Nintendo published.

Two years into Wii U:

Wii U:
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - 2014
Just Dance Wii U - 2014 (Japan Only)
Mario Kart 8 - 2014
Wii Sports Club - 2014
Bayonetta 2 - 2014
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U - 2014
Hyrule Warriors - 2014
NES Remix 2 - 2014
NES Remix Pack - 2014
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker - 2014

3DS:
Bravely Default - 2014
Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy - 2014
Yoshi's New Island - 2014
Disney Magical World - 2014
Gardening Mama 2: Forest Friends - 2014
Mario Golf: World Tour - 2014
Kirby Triple Deluxe - 2014
Inazuma Eleven GO - 2014
Tomodachi Life - 2014
Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - 2014
Cooking Mama 5: Bon Appétit! - 2014
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS - 2014
Fantasy Life - 2014
Pokémon Art Academy - 2014
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire - 2014
Ultimate NES Remix - 2014

Still well ahead of their release schedule two years into Switch's lifecycle. If you just take original titles developed in house or by second parties, the release schedule for Switch actually appears to be comparable to the Wii U, except we were also getting shit for the 3DS at that point as well. One would think that with one console to support instead of two, the frequency of releases would increase. Granted, handheld releases generally require fewer resources than home console ones, but one would think the resources freed up would result in an appreciably greater number of releases per year for the Switch.

Martinet is confirmed to not be in Wonder:
Nintendo has now confirmed to Eurogamer that Super Mario Wonder will not feature Charles Martinet, with new voice talent taking over in the roles of "Mario and/or Luigi". When asked why Martinet would no longer voice Mario, a Nintendo spokesperson told Eurogamer that "this decision was made after carefully considering a variety of factors". "Regarding Super Mario Bros. Wonder, while Charles is not involved in the game, we're excited to honour his legacy and contributions, including looking ahead to what he'll be doing as a Mario Ambassador," a Nintendo spokesperson said. "Character voice actors for Mario and/or Luigi in Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be credited in the game credits, so please wait for the game to be released."
