So they literally cut out the ending and are selling it separately? I haven't seen that kind of bullshit since Asura's Wrath.
No it's not the ending, its a prequel. But it improves the base game story because it sets the events in to motion. It's the ending for the first 2 games, but its the start of the 3rd game pretty much, but it also requires you to have played 3 to understand events and characters.

It's still very gay they cut out a part of the story and are selling it separately.

Torna is a prequel too, but would spoil the hell out of it if played first. Or did you mean Future Redeemed. I guess you probably do due to it somehow linking 1 and 2.

Yeah based on the founder statue lore in the City in the base game, the entire storyline of the DLC was already written. It's still worth the price I guess, it took 15 hours for the main story, but that was barely touching the side stuff, so probably 20-25 hours, plus the other DLC stuff.

I never finished Torna because Torna's story is pretty much told in base 2 already, and I didn't like the gameplay of 2 enough to want to play it, so I don't know the specifics of what it would spoil, but from what I understand you could still play it before base 2. I'm talking about Future Redeemed, which absolutely requires you to have played XC1, XC2 and XC3, otherwise you will either get spoiled, or have zero clue what is happening.

Torna is about the same length. It's weird they would relegate it to digital only if the content is so important.

Torna only got the physical release in NA. Now, it sold through eventually and I think it got a second printing after the resale price skyrocketed, but that was probably down to one or two people at NoA wanting to do so. They might have been replaced, had a change of mind or even saw the reduced sales of XB3 ( :( ) and decided not to, this time.

Nope, it got both a Euro and Japanese release. I have the Japanese release which includes English.

Oh thats funny, did some digging and its also supposed to have a piece of paper with DLC codes for XB2. Which my used copy didn't have. So its not complete. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. I mean I wasn't even going to use it but god fucking damnit.

And in case it wasn't clear enough:

I mean more “current year big tech company” than Amazon specifically. One late game NPC goes on a multi-paragraph tirade about gender identity and the bigotry of misgendering or something. It has nothing to do with the rest of the story or anything else that’s happening, it just sort of… exists.
Also “fuck” and “shit” are said a few times, but “faggot” is censored. And (minor spoiler) this is a lesser example, but you’re charged for your crimes at the end of the game, including violence toward women… the implication being that violence toward men is fine? I get that one is worse than the other, but it feels weird to outright exclude one.

It was in development for a long time, so I can only assume later dialogue was made with more “modern sensibilities” in mind.
Shit's bad when you're making /b/tard hacks look good. Speaking of shitmon, here's a handy explanation asto why the switch games run like ass: https://www.tumblr.com/melonsap/712...this-is-here-to-answer-questions?source=share
Turns out gamefreak was rendering an ocean proportional to the land mass like the sun is to earth, amongst other issues.

It makes me wonder if Game Freak did this intentionally, just as a way to proven that an open-world Pokémon game doesn't work, and thus they can use that as an excuse to revert back to the old closed-maps in older games. It also makes me think that EA did with The Sims 3 being an unoptimized mess, just so that they could use that as an excuse to ditch the open-world in The Sims 4, citing "improving performance". Which turned out to be bullshit in the end, given that TS4's code is a literal spaghetti monster, and the lack of talent at EA doesn't help either.

I'm pretty sure the answer is just overworked developers ordered to do a patchjob on an accelerated timeline where a rewrite with a reasonable timeline would be better.
