Another year, another cycle of Nintendo not releasing a ton of info on their big games (as usual) and games media/fans deciding that this means the game cannot be good.
It's a double edged sword. On the one hand, Nintendo building mystique around their games is actually kinda refreshing in an age of leaks and trailers that spoil everything. On the other, in the cases of games like ToTK, when it just looks like a BOTW expansion pack that supposedly took 4 years of development, you gotta show a bit more than the bread crumbs we've gotten so far, especially with a release date that's less than 2 months away. I'm sure a ToTK Direct will come next month to quell the Nintentards' thirst though.

All I'm saying is.. Nintendo should bring back Space World
They ran their own E3 until 2001 for exclusively their shit, it's also how they introduced shit like Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, I believe some very early GameCube shit as well. Is it a pipe dream? Yeah. Would I be a tard in heat if this was announced? you betcha

Do people really think that Nintendo is going to release BOTW2 and it is going to be broken and shitty?

I mean sure, I suppose it could happen. But I have my doubts that a company's flagship product that has been years in the making is going to completely bomb and look as if it were developed by vo-tech students. Especially when that company is Nintendo. I don't think their competition would release a bad product if they were in the same position. Sony would produce something good and Microsoft doesn't have to worry about it because Microsoft doesn't make video games.

It's going to be just fine. At worst it will be too much of the same from BOTW, in which case you'll have a fun game to play for a few dozen hours. At best you're going to get a game that improves upon its predecessor's ideas and shores up its deficiencies.

Some folks have been claiming, for three years, that BotW2 would be a flagship title for the Switch successor through supposed leaks and such. So it's fair to assume they're now in denial mode after looking like fools.
It would've made sense, I considered it likely myself. They'll probably release an enhanced version with extra content for it whenever it comes at least, I'd bet on it.

Maybe they planned for it at one point, then things changed. It's bizarre how long this obvious Majora's Mask type game took, nobody can deny that.

It could have been a Switch Pro launch or support game but it was never going to be Switch 2. Nintendo is pretty honest about their release date estimates (delays are legitimate delays, games are generally not announced with earlier dates than actual expectations) and Switch 2 was never going to be arriving in 2021 or whatever the game's original launch date was set at. FWIW, I wouldn't be surprised if the game launches with technical limitations that only work well once Switch 2 finally comes out a year or more later.

Kongversation is spilling the beans on the briefly in-development Vicarious Visions DK game.

edit: For those who don't know, this guy really knows how to stretch shit out, so sorry that you are going to have to sit through him bloviating.

TL;DR: Game was being developed during the Wii U era but as an early Switch game, VV was the studio in charge and the game would have been, from the sound of it, Crash-styled linear levels. When the founders left (they went on to form Velan Studios, the Mario Kart real life karts game studio,) they got reassigned to supporting Destiny/Destiny 2. Some of the jungle shit made for the game was re-used in Crash.

Not going to lie the artstyle looks worse than I remembered, not sure if they changed it or if I'm used to Cemu with the contrast fix to actually show details, but it looks way too blown out. Can't tell from the video compression, but when he goes to the sky island with the grass and trees it looks like the resolution tanks hard.

70 bucks for a nuts and bolts DLC and some sky islands (which are probably the replacement shrines and no actual dungeons). LOL

I don't really care for games that are 'sandboxes', because if the game wants me to invent my own fun or build things, at that point I just want to work on my own projects instead. Why waste creative effort on something that isn't an actual project?
