Don't you do it, SSj_Ness!

Grab it on PC it's better.
My junky old computer would probably be lucky to play RPG Maker games, but thanks for the suggestion. As long as the game is playable I don't really mind inferior versions anyway.

It's pretty much the same game either way, and if I recall the tech analysis video from Tech Foundry, it's a pretty decent port on Switch too with the DLCs included in. The devs in charge also added a framerate cap and a few optimization patches afterwards.

There is apparently a Definitive Edition coming out soon as a standalone release on Switch but owners of the Platinum version can upgrade for free.
That's good info.

That would be horseshit since the SNES Classic got discontinued, Nintendo needs to stop being so cheap with that game.

Hey I just logged on to make a post about it. So let's talk about Inazuma Eleven. First off, the full blog post is here: https://www.level5.co.jp/blog/

I've translated the most important parts of Moonscript and copied the pictures so we can discuss.

The thing that I was most worried about so far, the part that took time, was whether the easy operation of the pen touch of the Inazuma Eleven up to now could be realized "without a pen" of the current machine. The demo I made so far could not clear enough operation feeling, and it seemed that it would become a normal soccer game operation that was "difficult to play for people who are not good at it". Then... As a result of trial and error, including programmers, the answer that came to be "Free Soccer Interface" is this. In the end, I let the player choose what they wanted to do. Players can switch between playstyles that they find easy to play at any time during the game.

However, even with the "soccer game-like" operation with the controller, Inazuma Eleven's unique easy operation has been realized. Conventional pen operation, similar to the past game, can be realized by touching with a finger, and it can be played intuitively. For those who want to immerse themselves in the feeling of playing in the past, there is also the possibility of releasing a dedicated pen. (Details are yet to be decided)

This addresses my biggest concerns and also makes me feel pretty good about the direction they've chosen to go with the new Inazuma games. The Wii versions were good, but they were always missing something that the DS versions had. And I think it comes down to the touch interface. It seems as if the developers have an understanding of this which is very good. It means they play and enjoy their own game and can recognize when something isn't quite right.

Line draw (touch operation) / controller operation Can be used simultaneously (Switch version)
Portrait screen / landscape screen can be switched freely
Offensive direction Vertical/horizontal Freely switchable

* You can switch at any time during the match.
* In the Switch version, it is compatible with both carrying around and TV screens.

It can be operated without choosing a play style.
We are considering adjustments that will not be unfair when we play against each other.
Even a quick glance at these screenshots alleviates most of my fear. They're making this right and bringing back the true style of the original games. You'll be able to quickly plot your courses and plan your strategies across the pitch and make adjustments as-needed. The interface looks good and isn't overly complex. And if you want to play the game in a more traditional style as opposed to the "Inazuma Eleven style", you can do just that. But they're moving in the right direction here.
Co-battles with past characters will be realized in a new mode called "Chronicle Mode".

It is a hero chronicle mode where you make friends with characters you liked in the past, create your own team, and defeat the worst and strongest and most terrifying enemy teams. The number of characters that can be made friends and the teams that can be fought will increase even if it is opened by achieving achievements in the game and partially updated. Stay tuned for more details.
I think we'll be able to find more information at the end of the year!
Sorry to keep you waiting, but please be patient!
Stay tuned for the next update!
Chronicle mode sounds pretty neat and seems like it will operate outside of the primary story mode. I like the idea of being able to bring in all sorts of characters and teams from the past even if they don't exactly fit into the game's primary narrative. This is a good compromise and depending on how they handle multiplayer matches, should lead to tons of varied and interesting team combinations and let people use players from the specific eras of Inazuma Eleven that they like the most. Good stuff. The all-Axel firestorm team can become a reality!

And we'll be getting more info at the end of the year; hopefully not included is another delay. But if the game is delayed and still ends up being great, that is worth it. It looks like they've really used their time well and rebuilt the game to be true to what fans of the series want from an Inazuma Eleven game. Keep an eye on this one.

I don't own a switch. I haven't owned a console since nintendo 64. But I've been playing BotW on yuzu, the switch emulator and it's pretty great. I played through BotW previously on cemu, the wiiu emulator and it was good. But yuzu is running it flawlessly at 4k and 60fps. I'm playing on a shitty computer I repurposed for a retroarch machine for my living room. I haven't tried it on my gaming PC but there isn't really a need to. I have the link's awakening rom and I haven't tried it yet, according to the devs it should work perfectly as well with the emulator. Kind of excited to try it out since the original gameboy version is my favorite zelda game after a link to the past. Has anyone played the remake? I'm hoping it lives up to the original, it'd be a shame if it can't compete with an OG Gameboy game.

The Link's Awakening remake? It was alright. I really liked it but it is a straight remake without much else. So I can understand why some people were disappointed with it.

I do think it should have been 30 or 40 bucks and not full price. And I would like to see the same style used to make faithful remakes of the Oracle games. A LttP and LBW combo set would be nice, too. You should grab a Switch and play Mario Kart with us.

Hmm, I guess that kind of sucks a little bit but I probably wont mind. It's been a while since I played the original and it is really good, especially for a gameboy game. As for getting a switch I spend 99.9% of my gaming time playing eve online, when I want a break I play retro shit mostly.

One does not simply play EVE Online.

What retro games do you like? Have you played the classic SNES JRPGs?
Pretty much, eve consumes my leisure time. Been playing since 2005. I've played through every final fantasy on multiple consoles from 1-IX, II,IV,IX,VII are my favorites. All the dragon quests, earthbound, chrono trigger, secret of mana, wild arms etc. I really like TRPGs like Vandal Hearts, Onimusha tactics, etc. I always go back to mega man, metroid, castlevania, contra and of course mario games. I'm pretty simple and vanilla when it comes to gaming. I hate that modern gaming has turned into season passes, progression time-gated and rng-locked, and microtransactions. My favorite mmorpg is dead so I stick with eve which is probably in best place it's been in a long time, long time friendships have kept me through the rough patches but it's as fun as it's ever been. Plus there's nothing that can compare to PvP and meta gaming to pull me away. Spying on people, stealing shit, and hunting rare tournament ships is very fun.

Let's play Final Fantasy XI.

I can’t speak for Yuzu, but it has some bad framerate issues on a real Switch, especially in docked mode. It also has some weird design choices, like only being able to control the game with an analog stick even though movement is locked to a flat speed. And the physics/collision try to match the original, so there are times when it looks like you should be able to walk somewhere, but the game arbitrarily doesn’t let you. I honestly prefer the original; it feels much more ambitious when compared to each system’s respective library.

The Link's Awakening remake?
So I had the day off and decided to try it out today. First, it runs perfectly on the emulator and looks amazing. I got a little lost and confused at first, I forgot how weird the map is. However despite being a straight remake it's really fun, I think I will end up playing through multiple times. I forgot how fun the hookshot was. I wasn't planning on putting any time into yet, as I want to finish my BotW play through first, but I got sucked in. It's really good.

The new Mario Kart tracks look good! Get a Switch so you can race with us.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=HJktE1p2778New Picross coming soon. I can’t quite tell what it is, but it looks multiplayer? I like Picross a lot, but most of the games end up being same-y to the point where you should only get one or two per system, and this one looks completely different, so I’ll probably get it.
Awesome.

I need this and a Pushmo collcetion.

I’d take a new Pushmo, or a remaster collection. Pushmo World was one of the Wii U’s hidden gems, so having a new one that combines the playstyles of all the 3DS games with the presentation of World would be great.
