I can't think of a single time Nintendo has either restored cut content or added a large amount of content to a remake or remaster. In Zelda's case you're lucky to only get a single new dungeon like the color dungeon in Link's awakening or that one that was on-disc DLC in Twilight Princess HD.

The only exceptions to my above statement are when they practically add a new game to a rerelease, like Bowser's Fury
I think they added a dungeon to the GBA version of LttP. They also added shit to some of the GBA versions of Mario, I think. Same for SM64 DS.

They do it fairly often, it's just becoming more rare, I think.

I think

Super Mario Bros. 3 GBA had World-E, though that's more or less DLC by way of e-Reader cards (it was mostly novelty courses)

Donkey Kong NES got an "Original Edition" rerelease with an entire level hacked in, the one they removed from the arcade version for the original NES release

I guess SMB2J getting released on Super Mario All-Stars might count

Super Mario 64 DS had three extra playable characters and extra stars to collect, though I don't think it had an entirely new course.

There were several new small courses that had one or two stars each, just not a large “main” world. And most of the filler stars from the original game (like Bob-omb Battlefield’s “Shoot to the Island in the Sky”) were replaced with entirely new stars. Also the mini-games; can’t forget those.

It's almost like Super Mario 64 DS was distinct enough to warrant being a part of Super Mario 3D Allstars, along with Galaxy 2.

To this day, I can't believe Nintendo went through the effort of converting a game so reliant on the Wiimote to a more traditional control set up, and never bothered to do anything with the sequel even though a huge chunk of the work was solved. Galaxy 2 was one of the last worthwhile releases for the Wii, my ass it "wasn't important enough" for an already half-assed collection.

When they released the Allstars collection on the wii, all they included was the SNES Rom on the disc. The Kirby collection had more effort put into it. The Zelda Anthology on the gamecube that still to this day is the most comprehensive Zelda collection released(even compared to the Game and Watch) wasn't even intended for mainstream sale.

Honestly I think all the re-releases tend to get shoved off to their least experienced teams. The only one that had major changes and turned out well was Ocarina of Time 3D, but then Majora's Mask got fucked to hell.

Korea seems to add English language options based on the mood of whoever is packing the game that day or maybe based on the weather. I don't fucking know. I have to literally check every game for English language options, because Japanese games that have had it (like the Taiko Rhythm Adventure Pack rpg) don't have it in Korea for absolutely no reason. It drives me fucking bonkers. I just ordered a Japanese copy with some other games I've been meaning to pick up from Amazon and it should be here this week. At least this version of Klonoa will mostly pay for Live A Live. Fuck I'm annoyed.
Language supports in Switch games can widely differ depending of the region and publisher. I can't say about korean releases though, just european & japanese versions.
Personally, I always seek moonrunes in japanese games, they sometimes appear in european versions and I'm willing to pay the higher price for the JP version in other cases.

For instance, Nintendo games are published as worldwide versions by default, with the exception of Xenoblade 2 and the two Famicom Detective remakes. Then, there are the entire catalogues of Gust, Nippon Ichi Software, Kadokawa, Idea Factory, Atlus, Sega, Experience, etc. making the japanese language available exclusively for the home audience there

Can't believe you all missed the one easy time they actually did this. It was Xenoblade on the Switch, which included some of the stuff they had to cut from the Wii version. As far as I can tell, that is the only time they did that.

I'm not even looking for English voices, just English subs. I'm totally fine with J-voices in games.

Pretty much. The level itself is a watered-down version of the arcade original
Wasn't the most arcade accurate official port for a good long time, the one that came as a minigame inside Dk64?

The NES version of Donkey Kong(the one that came in Donkey Kong Classics) did not have the proper kill screen either. You just progressed until the game stopped and IIRC it took longer than 22 stages.

Then you also have shit like Donkey Kong Jr. Math.

A lot of that is probably due to Monolith Soft handling the re-release themselves and going the extra mile. If it was up to Nintendo themselves, that cut content probably wouldn't have seen the light of day.

I don’t want to sit through the article writer mumbling under their breath about how much they hate Smash Tour.
I didn't know wtf you were talking about since you didn't give a source, so I did the leg work and only found this

CTRL+F'ing everything else in the article doesn't show anything that comes of as "mumbling under their breath", and you have to actively look into the history in order to find this since it's nowhere on the article itself.

TCRF occasionally has some funny writing:

God, I hate how TCRF feels the need to passive-aggressively whine about half the games they cover. I just want to see unused content in Smash 4, I don’t want to sit through the article writer mumbling under their breath about how much they hate Smash Tour.
Random guides on GameFAQs are full of exactly that kinda shit

Huh, I could’ve sworn there was some whining about Smash Tour in the first paragraph. Maybe I got it mixed up with every other Smash YouTuber passive-aggressively whining about it whenever they talk about Smash 4. Leave Smash Tour alone :(

Just for fun, I decided to hit the random page button a few times and see what came up. Very first result:

And then a couple more after that:

Its’s not that bad overall (and still better than old GameFAQs guides), but I’d still prefer it if wikis would stick to being objective. I’m not seeing many comments like this anymore, so maybe they’ve toned it down in recent years.

EDIT: One more because I somehow knew they would whine about this one in particular:
