Oh I agree sleep mode and how ceamselessly you can resume is amazing.
As for the dualshock thing yeah I found out you need a 8bitdo dongle, so thats a no go. I'll be getting a pro controller when I can and Right now deciding what to get first: physical copy of smt v, metroid dread or an used copy of hyrule warriors.

Used games is another advantage of this console I guess, I haven't gamed seriously in consoles for over 12 years and even then I played pirated copies. With all the crap they saddled 7th gen games with to discourge the purchase of used games I thought buying used on consoles would be gone by the next generation. Glad I was wrong.
Speaking of used, is it hard to damage switch carts unless you actively try? Anything I should check when buying used?

Hey, hi. I bought my switch like a year ago and I have been enjoying it so far, really a nice little console. Personally, my favorite game of the options you mentioned was Metroid Dread. But it's kinda short (10 hours first play through, and About 5 hours other runs). I have never played a SMT or Persona game but I have heard that they are pretty good and they are long, so it can last you a few couple of hours more than Dread. And I was never interested in the Zelda mobs spin offs, they always looked kinda trashy too me, but that's my opinion.

Super Robot Wars 30 is looking to be my most played game on the Switch so far. I'm close to reaching one hundred hours but I don't think I will see yet the ending due of all the side missions and DLCs. Seems to be as long as, if not longer than, SRW Impact on PS2 albeit nowhere as difficult despite playing on Expert (Super-Expert was added later in an update).

I've purchased Atelier Sophie 2 on the japanese eshop with the hope it's a much better and less barebones game than Ryza 1 on PC.

I've never heard of cart damage issues, you should be good. (don't eat them, they taste terrible)
I guess I got very unlucky once with a game cartridge I've bought used from an online market (seller was someone in my country), it couldn't be recognized in neither my switch oled and the older v2 model (which I've gifted it away later to a family relative). The cart didn't exactly look beaten up or scratched to me either but it certainly got misused some other way by its previous owner.

Again more likely a rare bad case of poor luck rather than something actually common, I owned Ps Vita cartridges which were similar in appearance without a single issue ever once.

If anyone is looking for a good Boomer Shooter on switch, DUSK is seriously great. Plays like quake+half life 1.
It does intentionally look like a PS1 game though.

I got BOTW on the Switch and was pretty bummed to see that they removed the cool startup segment that the Wii U version had. This was a really neat thing that Wii U games did and should have been kept.

This video plays it three times but it would only play once with the art image displayed and then take you to the game's main menu.

Anyone tried the Majora’s Mask emu on the expansion pack yet? Is it as comically bad as the others?

It works as intended, you start the game and all it does is send a 5G signal that makes your balls hurt.

I really hope that 3d All Stars Collection isn't the fucking last time Nintendo decides to release old games physically.

It's probably the longest Super Robot Wars even without the bulk of the repeatable side-missions and simulator missions.

Fun fact: You're not done even when you do eventually beat it because the DLC continues the story after the final boss.

Oh, I'm sure they will put out regular All Stars again for the fiftieth, with Lost Levels joining World in the not included list.

We won't know the gory details until Friday. Until then, we can only speculate what'll happen to the game.

If they're struggling to emulate normal N64 games now, who knows how they'll handle expansion pak titles...

I'm hoping the Mario movie makes them get off their ass and do something.
I don't know why everyone is making such a big deal of the Mario movie. For adults its going to be another shitty not-Pixar film (and even Pixar's stuff these days...) and for kids just another animated film. There's also already lots of Mario games for the Switch that Nintendo can push with this. And most shittily of all, this is a "for everyone" film and thus only the crappiest, most generic of NSMBses are going to come out of any film/game tie-in. So thats my prediction, you get a new NSMB out of it, one either entirely devoid of gimmicks or who's gimmick is that its a movie tie-in. Expect that one film guy on the Nintendo steering committee to be claiming credit for it. Oh, and expect this to be why EPD 10 hasn't made a lot of Mario Maker 2 DLC, too busy with this and might have even banked it a year ago during the pandemic.

I mean, the expansion pak was an absolutely trivial bit of RAM. It shouldn't be hard to emulate. Then again, they emulated Zelda just fine on the Gamecube and Wii so that shouldn't have been hard to emulate either.

That’s the real kicker: they used to do emulation just fine, even back on the Wii which was basically an OG Xbox level of hardware. I used to play star fox all the time on that thing with no issues. This is just extreme incompetence/laziness on their part

With the plot of some animes I'm familiar with, I assume I'm still quite far away from getting the ending. I did play SRW V on Switch too and it took me a good 80 hours in comparison.
I reached so far the Athens stage where you face a large alliance of Zanscare obsessed with bikes by now (Gundam Victory), Poseidal's troops (Heavy Metal L-Gaim) and the schizo among the Original Seven (Gun x Sword). Nearly everyone in my party are lvl 40-50, except the Knights & Magic protag warming up the bench.

My personal problem with modern SRW games is that the devs shouldn't have let the possibility to activate spirit commands during enemy turns, it makes most of the difficulty quite trivial once the characters' SP pool are getting large enough through levels up. Not to mention the SP regeneration per turn.

Considering you have the Kakuseijin V2, you're at least more than halfway through the story right now. Levels really don't matter all that much in 30 (probably even less so since the cap got increased to 200) since everything scales up with you and it's really not hard to level someone lagging behind – just throw them into one of the repeatables with buffs + spirits and they'll close the gap easily in a few kills.

Why play the JP version anyway? Could just as easily play the PC version with its English translation.

Good to know that I'm not that far then.
and yeah Umi from Magic Knight Rayearth has been my main trainer for characters who were many levels behind, with her XP buff spirit command costing the less SP

Switch version has english text support too (just like V and X, but not T however unless it's the HK release) but I can play my nippon games in moonrunes personally.
I don't think I would have generated that much hours of playtime if I played on PC too, as most of those hours were in handheld/tablet mode.

Lelouch (mostly due to CC co-piloting) and Ogami (provided you have DLC1) also work well for covering stat deficits due to level differences, but overall, Cheer helps but doesn't really matter as much since underleveled pilots really do catch up quickly without boosted XP buffs.

Daunt, Analyze, Attune, Foresight, and I guess Wish to a lesser extent are all the preferable buffs + any Commander-type pilots (see Lelouch and Ogami) when just straight leveling, although they also work for general play + some of those Relic map missions with their "extreme" requirements (i.e., Chain 5 kills in one turn, Kill all enemies within x turns, Kill the target enemy in a single attack – hell, just 100%ing (not counting the extra upgrades that got added with recent updates) Huckebein 30th and maybe throwing a few extra buffs on it is usually enough to wipe the floor with all of these by the point you're at).

God help you when you finally unlock Final GaoGaiGar because you've pretty much won the game by that point. Even better still if you managed to recruit Betterman Cataphract on top of that.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, Combattler V + Voltes V (what with their 5 pilots), and any of the flagships also work just as well for Spirit Command anchor buffing as well, so there's that.
