I know. I wish they were smart enough to release a double pack of it and Tooie on cartridge.
They did, you could also get the ice key and it came with 28 other games.

Outside of the NES and SNES mini we've yet to get a Nintendo collection in physical form that's reached 10 games. Kirby's 20th on Wii had 7 which is currently the most I think.

Game and Watch Galleries have done it. And, though not rereleases, Wii Play did too. Those probably aren't what you're looking for though.

So I've finished Breath of the Wild and I can say it was an okay game but nothing like what I've heard about from the commendations it received.
The frame is pretty and all but that's all there is to it. It doesn't have actual dungeons like in the previous mainline Zelda games (I don't think the divine beasts can be called themselves as dungeons) and the shrines were too spread out for me to care, beyond the required orbs to unlock the Master Sword. And as I said previously, weapons and shields (even the champion items) break way too easily to the point I was fleeing from fights more often than not and take many detours by climbing & sliding.

7/10 it's an okay game by itself but hardly a good Zelda title. Age of Calamity is defintively a better BotW game and I had more fun with it than the actual BotW.

I've just gotten my japanese imports of Fuuraiki 4 and Xenoblade 2 but I still have quite the backlog on my Switch

Game and watch stuff being emulated has always just been a weird move since they're on par with Tiger stuff. They're something that never felt right unless it's on original hardware.

I couldn't finished Breath of The Wild. It was just so... Boring. Felt like you just were wandering aimlessly for hours fighting the same 3 types of enemies. This was my first Zelda and It was disappointing. I had a better time playing the remake of Xenoblade.

finished cold steel 3, game liked to crash and freeze ever so often, started cold steel 4 and experienced none of that so far, game even runs smoother

The Switch's library is honestly similar to what the original wii had and since we're at the 5 year point they're probably going to save all significant releases to be towards the end of the year.

It's looking very likely that 2023 that a new system is coming and if it goes like all the previous ones any talks of a "third pillar" or I guess "second pillar" in this case will turn out the same, where the new system is launched and any previous support is dropped and it just kind of lays there until people forget about it and want the new thing. They claimed Gamecube would be supported when the wii launched and that the DS would still be around with the 3DS launching, same with the wii being supported with the wii-u neither of these happened.

Anyways I've already put away $500 for whatever NEW THING they have planned
I don't want a NEW THING and look upon this development with dread

Imagine not being able to get the ice key in the N64 version. How embarrassing!!

Also you might be right about a new console coming out in 2023, but I am not convinced. You can't rely on the past as a template for the future anymore now that Nintendo has merged their handheld and console divisions into one. A new piece of hardware could be nice to have if it upped the specs; but honestly the Switch as it is does a great job. The visuals are really good and the games are fun.

Its one thing to get the Ice Key, its another to use it for its intended purpose. Which, of course, was never built and implemented in the original game and thus whatever bonuses it gives aren't what Rare was originally going to include.

Twilight Princess is kind of good if you're willing to sit through the prologue. OoT let's you dive in. Wind Waker is something that you'll probably hate. Skyward Sword's combat is kind of overrated.

BotW felt more like a tech demo to show off the capabilities of the console if I were to describe it rather simply. It's playable but there are way better and more engaging Zelda games out there. The ones I've played when I was a kid/teen were Link Awakening DX, OoT (including Master Quest), Wind Waker and Twilight Princess although my memories are quite fuzzy to remember much in detail their contents.

Xenoblade Chronicles DE was a near perfect title for me. The sole complaint I had about it was the sudden huge difficulty spike right at the end with the final boss.

The Switch continues to sell extremely well even five years into its life, with no price cuts, and it has virtually no competition right now (and probably for the whole 9th gen). I could honestly see it to live off another 4 years before a successor comes out

In addition to what @Dammit Mandrake! said, the Switch's game library is already immense and continues to grow, catering to all sorts of public (either casuals or the more dedicated players). Whereas the other consoles try too hard to aim for the "hardcore gamer" and "premium" audience with barely any substantial difference compared to the previous gen imo.

The Switch is also a better "modern" Playstation system to me (as someone who liked very much the PSP and PSVita) for my nippon games since NCL remains the only one sensible enough to realize they're just drawings and pixels.

Good for you, Nintendo hates it.

A big reason why the second half of the PS360 generation had stagnant sales is that people were playing old/used games on the consoles instead. Nintendo has typically been a one franchise iteration per generation type of studio and as they run out of things to make they are going to have to reset stuff before they go back to the well.

Actually, the Switch continuing to sell well has been such a suprise for me. Surely the market has to run out some-time but not only are we not there yet, I continue to hear people talk about picking them up. As said earlier in the thread I give it another two years before we get a backwards compatible upgrade that continues to switch but is considered a new console in the same way that the 3DS is not just an upgraded 2DS.

Meanwhile, I think BotW is one of the best games I've ever played, I'm sad to see it become a victim of the "overrated!" cycle.

To be fair it was a big departure for the series, that's something you can either roll with or not and sure, it could have used more traditional dungeons and been a little more forgiving with the weapon breaking, but what's great about the game absolutely had my jaw on the floor.

I'm sure it'll go through the Wind Waker cycle where in a decade it'll be a beloved classic.

Better this than the cavalcade of retards that think/have been fooled into thinking that Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword are good. Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword are ass.

Go play Okami instead.

With word of a new Mario kart, that's probably going to be a launch game for whatever new system because 8 took around 2 years to make. The Original version of 8 came out on the wii-u in 2014.

But I'm not sure how much of their One Literation per generation thing is going to remain when series like Zelda have competition who have multiple titles in development. Horizon already has 4 games in the works with one set to be released this year and that series already went head to head with Zelda before which is what greenlit the sequels due to it's performance.
