What the fuck are they doing with this emulator?!
tl;dw: Paper Mario's crashes happen when one particular character, the only one with a special graphical effect (little lightning bolts that come off him), is in your party when you get a game over. He's still loaded and active offscreen during the game over sequence. This causes a quick black flash to happen when the game goes from game over to the title screen, but it doesn't crash the game. Nintendo implemented Lua code to fix this black flash in the Japanese version, which worked, but broke the international version. You can just comment out the code and get rid of the crash.

Also interesting: Nintendo's official emulation software doesn't actually save your saves to storage until you close the app, but it does if you use suspend points. That's retarded.

Hopefully, I can’t stand watching more “Life is strange” trailers.
So you'll just get more life is strange trailers but it will be made out of pixel art.

Wait what the fuck? Are they hiring indians for their emulation teams?

CALM DOWN AND QUIT BEING ANGRY, FAGGOT.

It is about three months since the last direct. Nintendo does a direct every quarter, usually.
The Switch's library is honestly similar to what the original wii had and since we're at the 5 year point they're probably going to save all significant releases to be towards the end of the year.

It's looking very likely that 2023 that a new system is coming and if it goes like all the previous ones any talks of a "third pillar" or I guess "second pillar" in this case will turn out the same, where the new system is launched and any previous support is dropped and it just kind of lays there until people forget about it and want the new thing. They claimed Gamecube would be supported when the wii launched and that the DS would still be around with the 3DS launching, same with the wii being supported with the wii-u neither of these happened.

Anyways I've already put away $500 for whatever NEW THING they have planned

What do tickets for Super Nintendo Land cost?
Your sanity, they need to adopt the Disney Fastpass system. Universal does not seem to be on the same level of Disney when it comes to customer service with shit like that. I think they're also way understaffed since they're the smaller park.

Meanwhile the 3DS just would not fucking die.

I can't wait to have that Lowest Common Denominator Minion guy advising Nintendo. The "we need to ditch consoles and make iPhone games" calls are coming from inside the house.

You'd think so. The guy in the video did go into detail, saying how it only doesn't save your SRAM to storage if the app crashes, but does if exiting via closing the app or a manual shutdown. So, after a decade or so, when you're reduced to using sketchy batteries from eBay to power your Switch, the kind that might go from like 30% straight to totally flat, you'll lose your saves if you just trust the SRAM.

That's a very irresponsible design choice, considering how it didn't even take them long to prove that ropey Lua code can crash the app.

On the bright side, Nintendo of Japan can go completely energy independent by just powering their whole company off of Iwata spinning in his grave like a turbine over all these retarded situations.

>Removing/Changing a line of code can either make or break a game
Now where have I heard that befo...

... oh

It emulates a dying CMOS batter perfectly just like the original n64 carts.

I'm waiting for the mario movie because hopefully we'll be getting Mario collections in physical form. With so many games getting turned into TV shows or movies at this point, developers are making new editions of old games or new games entirely.

Nintendo has let quite a few people from Illumination into their higher ranks
It's looking like the multi-movie deal for a Nintendo Cinematic Universe is expanding and it's suggested that it will have heavy influence on their games. Maybe they can finally put some care into remasters.

I mean imagine paying for a $70 game remaster for a movie tie-in and it's 4:3.
Oh boy get ready for Zelda starring Brie Larson and Joe Alwyn!

If they were smart we get Banjo Kazooie, Persona 4G, Earthbound, etc. But nobody needs games with shit internet connection only content fuck that shit.

Been playing the Switch Warioware, what's the general consensus?

I think it's a lot of fun although controlling characters within the microgames instead of just controlling the games directly can be frustrating, the story mode is also shockingly short, but it probably was in the other games too.

It's still got that great Warioware sense of style.

The weekly challenges are the game’s strongpoint, which meant the game was kind of weak at launch.

I like the character gimmick, the games have a lot of really interesting behaviors with some characters. Penny especially.

Penny's probably the hardest one to control, but then sometimes she can just use her water canon to complete the minigame instead of the usual way or her water canon makes a task a lot easier, which is really interesting, but if it's one really centered around movement then you're probably screwed.

My sister owns a switch, I played it at her house and finished it within a few hours. Felt kinda meh about it. Last time I enjoyed a NEW WarioWare game was Gold on the 3DS, The WiiU one completely turned me off when I found out you needed to use BOTH the TV and the pad gimmics to play rather than just the buttons themselves using only one screen.

WarioWare campaigns are all about 2-3 hours long. You could probably play through every single game from start to finish in a single day if you really pushed yourself.

Not that I'd recommend it, it'd probably feel like eating a ton of sugar all at once.

It's alright. But I still prefer the winning combo of WarioWare Gold and Rhythm Heaven Megamix on the 3DS. You really don't need anything else.

But the new WarioWare is definitely alright. I think Nintendo should charge ten dollars less for it. A bunch of their games should be ten bucks cheaper.
