Well fuck. I'm glad to see a whole ass Animal Crossing direct is coming. I didn't even think we'd get a word about it. I'm so fucking disappointed to see that Donkey Kong 64 was not included in the new online service. I'm hoping it will get added in the future! I will check out Banjo Kazooie and Ocarina of Time.

I've never played a Bayonetta game but I've been thinking about it. I really need to expand my gaming views (clearly). The new Kirby game looks cool too.

Edit: Don't even get me started on the casting announcement for the Mario movie.

That was a rough video. That Mario movie casting was something else, and it actually pisses me off because Norm Macdonald would have been perfect with the direction that this movie is going.

The movie would still suck, but Norm as a sarcastic and cynical Bowser would be worth the price of admission alone.
 
Hated Bayo's new design, but its good to finally hear about this game after 4 fucking years. The trailer couldve featured more scenarios and a little more gameplay outside of the hair magic shit, but I trust Platinum will deliver again.

The mario movie casting sounds like some shit youd see in a IMDB list. Illumination is one of the cheapest studios out there, motherfuckers make nothing but shit movies, this Mario feature is going to be terrible.

As for the Direct itself: definite highs and definite lows.

Highs: 3D KIRBO, FINALLY. ACTRAISER REMAKE LATER TODAY. SHADOWRUN COLLECTION. THE MARIO MOVIE CASTING (Purely for the LOLs and salt factor).
Mehs: Bayo 3, Splatoon 3 (don't care about either of those franchises)
Lows: MH: Rise DLC, Smash character pushed back until Oct. 5th (no salt (:_( ), pretty much everything else.

That direct was shittier than usual. I have a gut feeling Bayonetta 3 is gonna be a prequel because of the hairstyle Bayo sports, and her voice, and her face, and her everything. Winback was based, hope OG RE2 gets added to it.

Dude it baffles me that they thought Chris Pratt was a better choice than Charles Martinet, atleast he's in as cameos
 
Stream was alright. Definitively interested in Megaton Musashi which gives off some Gundam Breaker vibes with the robot customization

There are far too many games releasing on the Switch since the beginning of this year and the thing continue with the same momentum

I recall reading a few user reviews that Sega screwed this port with extra input lag, did you experience any of that personally?
 
The giant monster battle part of the Bayo 3 trailer was awesome. I need to get around to playing the first two sometime.

The new Kirby game is going to be a day one purchase for me. Been wanting a 3D Kirby game for years now.

Splatoon 3 looks interesting, might give it a go when it releases.

Why couldn't they just use Charles? I get Nintendo went with the minions people (haha) but I guess I was too naive for thinking that they'd be a stickler for sticking to the games canon after the first Mario movie.

If Illumination has this much control over the voice cast at the bare minimum, who's to say what amount of control they have over the rest of the movie? I expect a minion cameo and several unfunny fart jokes in the trailer. At least it'll be a dumpster fire but I'm just annoyed that Charles isn't in besides for "cameos" considering the dude's been having some of his best performances lately with stuff like Wario Ware Gold.

In positive news, Kirby looked really damn good, Star Allies was really underwhelming and mediocre so it's nice to see Kirby finally try something new, I really like the new setting too, all in all this looks like something new which is what Kirby's needed for so long.

I will say that Charlie Day as Luigi is perfect casting, and I never even thought about it until now. I'm also willing to see what Chris and Anya do for the characters. The rest of the cast I'm not hopeful about.

Even though I'm not a Mario fanboy, I hope it turns out good. I saw the original Mario movie in theaters as a kid, and I'd like to see it get a redemption arc.
 
Original mario bros move is a fun weird scifi action adventure movie where the meteor that killed the dinosaurs caused a split timeline only a few societal elites are aware of where humanity evolved from lizards or monkeys. It's pretty much only mario in name and references, as well as the main 2 bros, one of which lacks the mustache for some reason. and thats the issue people have with it. This new one? It's gonna be closer to the original mario games in settings and visuals probably, but a bastardized version with less cool shit.

The casting reeks of Hollywood executive shennanigans. I hear Nintendo tends to be extremely picky and hands on when it comes to adapting this stuff. Mario was supposed to appear in the Wreck it Ralph movies, but Disney couldnt reach an agreement with Nintendo on how to portray him, so they left and went with Illumination instead, which makes me think that they gave Nintendo a better deal, a bigger cut, more creative control, something like that, I dont know.

Maybe they just convinced Nintendo that having a big "Hollywood Cast" would be great for the movie and for its box office. Shigeru seemed pretty hyped about "the talent" involved. At least they're giving Charles some cameos.
