Oh lord, what if it's a new Kid Icarus? Even a remaster of Uprising would be dope
He expressed his desire for a home console Uprising at the end of at least two different videos, so maybe he’s being coy?
You know what bother's me about the switch specifically? The quality of games that are on this thing.

Outside of 1st parties (which even then have become questionable over time), the Switch really doesn't have anything else going for it. Almost all of the 3rd party stuff have better versions on PC (i.e. not censored, can be modded, etc...) or are mobile-tier shovelware.

The reason why past consoles were successful is because the software for them were plentiful. The quality, even during the DS/Wii era, was top notch. You really can't say the same thing for the Switch when the PC beats this thing 10 to 1.
Are you kidding? The DS and Wii, like any crazy popular console, were notorious for having tons of shovelware. But those systems weren’t even powerful enough to get bad ports of most PC games, let alone good ones. First party has been the primary selling point on every Nintendo console since at least the N64, the only difference this time is that the Switch was at least powerful enough to get ports of most indies and a good amount of (watered-down) AAAs. It may be common now, but the idea of having a full home console experience on a handheld was novel in 2017; the best we had were some shoddy Vita ports.

You're forgetting one thing, sure the only thing the switch has going for it is exclusives... But even its exclusives are exclusive. Nearly every PlayStation and xbox game is available on PC while you'd have to emulate anything Nintendo. It's pretty much alone in the console market beyond some brand loyal niggers holding out hope that astrobot won't be ported to PC eventually.

Excuse me, fine gentleman/lady/nonbinary person, can I persuade you into being excited for the latest compilation of the finest expedition made by an tie-wearing primate?

Only the finest in ports that cost more than the original and SNES roms here, folks. And they're still holding out on us. Those bad DKC Gameboy ports are right there, unreleased.

What ? DS and especially Wii were nearly exclusively shovelware from third parties.

hence why i said "even those consoles", implying they had the same issues as the switch does.

The difference between those and the switch is that i can name some noteworthy recommended titles for them (Deadly Creatures, Elebits, No More Heroes, Ace Attorney, Trauma Center, DS Castlevania games, Giana Sisters, Professor Layton, The GG series of DSi download games, GO series games for DSi). For the Switch I can't name a damn thing that hasn't already been on other consoles/handhelds or PC.

A port of a 15 year old game which is the least popular entry in a series I don’t care about? Don’t mind if I do!
I love the music though

Don’t take this the wrong way, but that sounds like a “you” problem. I see plenty of Switch exclusives, and half those DS games you mentioned are literally-whats.

I've seen it claimed a bunch of times here and elsewhere that there's no point in a Switch 2 or even the current switch when you could buy all the third party games on PC.

Why, exactly, would I want to play them on PC?

Most games look and run just fine on Switch. And they are tailored to just werk, no dumb 27 option config panel. I can go and buy a hardcopy and share it with my wife and kids. Run the game on a TV or monitor or in handheld mode seamlessly, and use always-reliable sleep mode in between.

I've had the option to buy however many dozens or hundreds of games on PC and I don't for a reason. Why would that be any different with the Switch successor?

It's probably closer to the NES then the N64, with the Switch 2 being the SNES.
That's an interesting way to put that. I suppose I'm just iffy on the state of the AAA industry necessary to make most of those "exclusives" you mention.

I think back to early 2008, and I could rationalize owning all three consoles and a handheld. I had gotten a PS3 to play MGS4, and a couple of my friends played WaW zombies. Resistance 1 also had fantastic local co-op. I had already gotten a 360 for Halo 3 which was amazing, and a different group of friends played CoD4. I owned a Wii of course, and the previous year had three of the greatest video games ever made in it; Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and Zelda Twilight Princess. I didn't get as much use out of my DS, but Hotel Dusk remains one of my favorite games. In hindsight 2007-2008 was an incredible time for gaming.

Nowadays... Sony doesn't have ANYTHING I want, and most likely never will since Metal Gear Delta is coming to Steam. Bill Gates and his monopoly can die, they also have nothing I want. Halo's nuCanon does nothing for me, Mass Effect was ruined, CoD is lame now, and every other game can just be played on Steam so why would I ever get an Xbox? Even Nintendo (who comes off the cleanest this generation) is far from stellar. Pikmin got nigger'd along with the other big franchises (been happening to pokemon for a decade), every universe has shitskins now, enjoy plebs! I remember Mario Odyssey being pretty fun, but nowhere near as mind blowing as Galaxy. I despise nuZelda and won't be looking in its direction unless they bring back some dungeons and leitmotif, and lose the damn furries. And when it comes to Metroid, Prime 4 was initially the reason I bought a Switch back in 2017 - yet 7 1/2 years later it still isn't in my hands. At least it's on the way I suppose.

Like I said, Nintendo better bring the games and more, and then some, otherwise I think they may be surprised at how many people don't bother.
