So is Nintendo just packing it in for a year before the Switch 2 comes out or what
I guess when they decided to delay the Switch 2 for a year they didn't want the other developers in time.

If we're lucky maybe we will get a Nintendo Selects thing where the best games for the Switch get discounted to $20 or so

Its not 20 bucks but they had a few goodies on sale for 30 last Black Friday so if you've somehow missed out on BotW or Odyssey so far you can probably get them for than in November.

honestly, fine by me. I've got the Mario RPG remake I'm currently playing, and TTYD remake next month; I'm good.
Ditto on the "I'm good" remark. FZero99 has been my go-to comfort game I play everyday. Every now-and-then I'll check the eShop weekly for any cheap (below $5) indies or whatever is on my wishlist.

I finished Luigi's Mansion 3 a week ago, and was satisfied with it... really couldn't care for the multiplayer aspect. other than that I've been dipping my toes into Super Mario Wonder and it's FAR better than anything from the "New" series, even 2 (the 3DS game where you turn everything into gold), which was my favorite one of the bunch.

Holy shit that Anton Blast demo is fucking great. Really looking forward to that one now.
Will check it out, thanks.

The trailer was kinda good but it felt like it could have been a trick. Reminded me a lot of Wario Land: Shake It for some reason. Reading the description oddly confirms that... which is a good thing.

hiiiii, I'm like, this epic hackur girl, right, and I'm going to uncover this conspiracy for this giant mega-corp, yaaaas! and it's going to be a Metroidvania too, like, that genre that hasn't been done to death a bazillion times! This is such an original concept gorl!

the only saving grace is that her design actually looks somewhat appealing; she, alongside Eve from Stellar Blade, sticks out like a wonderfully sore thumb among the leading gaming ladies of today
It just needs nostalgia 8-bit graphics to be the icing on this cliché cake.

There were a few indies, all published by Playism on the Switch, that picked my interest:

Exit 8 from the same publisher seems to be a huge hit in Japan too

It's basically a "walking simulator" game where you go through the same underground corridor and try to spot any anomaly in each loop (you walk back if there is anything, otherwise you advance ahead), with the exit found at the 8th loop. Some anomalies are painfully obvious at the first glance while others are requiring to be actually attentive at details.

How many Yar’s Revenge sequels are they gonna make? Haven’t there already been two or three in the last few years?
It got a remake in the "____ Recharged" series and one for the Atari 50 thingy. Haven't played either but I think they're completely separate games. That's slightly weird, but not weird like this.

Yars' Revenge lore is actually cool, what a waste.

Was the Atari 50 sequel Yars Revenge 2? Because that was actually made in the 80s but never released, its since been included in several versions of the Flashback.

nah this thing

Six new "Atari Reimagined" games were created for the collection by Digital Eclipse staff.[11][12] These games are updated versions of Atari's games, such as Yars' Revenge Reimainged, which reuses the code of Yars' Revenge with more special effects and audio,
Sounds like maybe it's the original game with a fancy skin over it

The GCN Zelda remakes, Prime 2 and 3, FE: Tracia as a remake. Xenoblade X for Switch 2.

And then I'd argue that the unannounced Bandai-Namco action game is more likely than anything else to be KI: Uprising, Punch-Out Wii strikes me as being unusually missing from the Switch's current line-up. Tomodachi Life might follow-up Miitopia. A Wooly World remake could hit Switch 2 if Good-Feel wants to concentrate on Peach for now. Some of the multi-player Zelda stuff could be a good shot with modern on-line vastly lowering the barriers to entry for players to even be able to play it. And then, you know, F-Zero GCN is always out there, waiting.
As a personal list, I really want Super Mario 64 DS, Kirby Super Star/Ultra and the Endless Ocean duology to come. Would be cool to also get some weirder games remade: Chibi-Robo and Cubivore for GC, Sin & Punishment and Custom-Robo for N64, Starfy and Golden Sun for GBA, Rhythm Heaven and Style savvy for DS, the Excite series for Wii, etc..
Hey, lets swing for the fences here. Lets get some remakes/re-releases of Eternal Darkness, Geist, The Last Story, Zangeki no Reginleiv, Pandora's Tower, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Soma Bringer, and ASH: Archaic Sealed Heat.

S&P and Cubivore aren't actually Nintendo titles
Yes they are. Both games are Nintendo owned IP. Getting remakes is just a matter of finding a studio to handle them, which shouldn't be too hard. A smaller studio or port house could easily handle either of those games. Treasure still exists and has basically done nothing but re-releases (like Ikaruga) since 2014, so they could probably handle Sin and Punishment themselves.
