Old thread I know but I really loved the 3DS. I mean I still play mine every now and then. I play my New 3DS XL and I've been playing Bravely Default on it. I first got my OG 3DS in Christmas 2011 with Super Mario 3D Land. My god, I abosuletly fell in love with it. I really loved the 3D effect and how the system had so many games. Played a ton of Animal Crossing New Leaf, Luigis Mansion 2, Zelda OOT, Mario Kart 7, Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem Awakening, Paper Mario, Sonic and Super Smash Bros. It's been almost 10 years since I got it and it's not in good condition but the memory of unwrapping it on Christmas 2011 was something I'll never forget.

That's why I bought a Refurbished New Nintendo 3DS Black with Mario 3D Land for my nephew this year. Hopefully he can have the same experience I did 10 years ago.

The 3D effect is shat on by many but I use it frequently. There won't be any handheld that'll replace the charm the 3DS had. Not to mention it's probably the last handheld console of its kind to not be monetized to hell with "services".
I hope I can grab some new 3DS systems soon. I remember when limited edition units were brand new and very affordable, stings now because I didn't get any at the time. Still going strong with my brick of a system (launch version).

I'm hoping for a flood of 3DSes on the second hand market when Coronavirus/war/Clown World finally ends for good, someday, at some point, hopefully before all the 3DSes start getting screen rot and shit like in 50 years.

Ceasing production in 2019, boy oh boy did they sure pick the best possible time to cull their final pocket-sized portable platform. And then releasing Animal Crossing: New Horizons just nine days after the lockdowns started, I'm surprised there aren't more conspiracy theorists saying Nintendo had a hand in the lockdowns.

Maybe I should, that'd be fun to throw around.
