Well now I feel dumb for trashing the believers of the rumor in an earlier post :\
Playing 3D Marios on the Switch sounds cool but them being ports rather than remakes is pretty underwhelming if I'm being honest.

Gotta love how Nintendo conveniently left out Mario 64 DS and Galaxy 2 in the ending crawl of Mario’s history.

It is almost like people would demand those titles if they saw it!?

I can kinda understand wiping 64 DS under the rug but Galaxy 2 is definitely weird.
Speaking of, Mario 64 DS with revamped controls would be amazing, I've always stuck with the original version because the remakes has undeniably worse controls even if you play it on a 3DS.

Oh boy they're pulling the Japanese practices bullshit again with these.

Limited time downloads for paid products, not even disney has pulled this shit yet with it's Disney Vault.

galaxy 2 not being in it is super uber weird.

Knowing Nintendo, they're probably saving it to be released later next year by itself, since they know they'll make more money that way as opposed to including it in the 3D All-Stars bundle.

Galaxy 2 will be paid DLC for the game

So not only will you have to get the limited edition game if you want Galaxy 2, it's not included with the game and you have to pay on top of it. I can see that happening.

Well shit, guess it was real after all. Smart of them to do a limited availability thing, all the soyboys are going to be rushing for like 12 copies individually. There was obviously no way they were going to remaster all the 3d mario games when they could just throw them on the cart, why spend more effort for basically the same amount of sales after all?

3D World looks interesting though since I never got to play it. I might pick that up.

Wow, I can't wait to get the mario battle royalle and play it for half a year and never again.
I'm so glad they put all this effort into a subscription only game that's already got an execution date.

That Game and Watch is probably the biggest bullshit.

Who the fuck in America is Nostalgic for Game and Watch? Hasbro just released wave 1 of the Tiger LCD games and they're still on the shelves. Are you that desperate for emulated LCD games?

Citing lost levels as a means to buy it is pretty bad too. There's multiple means to officially play lost levels and SMB 1 already that are fairly easy to acquire, including the gameboy color which had SMB1 and Lost Levels packaged as Super Mario Bros. Deluxe.

Do we really need it to be a clock especially when everyone has a smart phone? It's like they should have packed it full of a bunch of NES roms or something, because they asking price is insane.

Not to mention they're literally releasing updated versions of SMB1 and Lost Levels via snes allstars onto switch online.

Yes but these you can keep forever rather than having them removed after every month.

The updated SMB1 and Lost Levels are from the GBC versions if I understand correctly, so they have the world map and save slots and the jumps in Lost Levels are less bullshit and are more do-able.

Anyone see the new Amiibos for Cat Mario and Cat Peach?

They look alright. Honestly thinking about trashing some of my Amiibos and getting some of those smaller disks instead. They just take up too much room and most look pretty bad barring the Yarn ones and the occasional Joker quality ones. I wish Nintendo would release nicer merch of some of the more obscure franchises like Xenoblade or FE sothe Amiibo was not the only option.

It’d be kind of a neat thing to have for like $20 but we all know it’s gonna cost a small fortune and they’re going to be rarer than a willy wonka golden ticket

and I’d pretty much only buy one because my cheapass NES on a Chip handheld from Wish crapped out after a month

also the clock thing is where the “watch” comes from in Game & Watch, but the preview picture shows the clock function while the thing is fully on so that kinda defeats the use of a clock, where you just glance at it real fast to see what time it is. It’d be cool as a bedside alarm clock if it had an always-on OLED screen but if it only functions while it’s on and it just uses a regular LCD, that shit gay dogg

Nintendo doesn’t remove roms every month from the service, they just keep piling them on there so you don’t have to claim them monthly like with everything else.

Of course, they’ll slam that shit closed the moment a new console comes out and you’ll lose access to those roms, so it’s not like it matters all that much anyway

When was the last time GameXplain did a "review" anyways?
When's the last time Nintendo released a game?

The real question is when is the last time they did an analysis that was over 20 minutes long and NOT Jon reading off a fucking list (god, their Ultimate content was terrible.)

I take back what I said about the 3D allstars rumor lol. Marios 35th anniversary was alright I guess. Fans seem pretty divided on the 3D Allstars game which is understandable. Not gonna pay $60 for basically 3 roms when there's a 4k PC port for SM64, HD texture packs for sunshine, and Galaxy runs great on Dolphin.

This so much. I love collecting Nintendo shit like the NES/SNES Classic but even as a physical collector that game and watch crap is ridiculous. I'd rather would've had a Nintendo Gameboy classic or something.

From what I've heard, 3D world will have online co-op which I will buy day one as ill be able to play with my buddies. The merch was cool. Bought both of the splatfest t-shirts and am waiting for the 35th anniversary running shoes. That mario battle royal game looked cool so ill give it a try. Mario Kart Live is great for kids but I have no interest. Overall the reveals were good but not amazing. Fuck that limited run bullshit though. I hate FOMO as is but Nintendo really shouldn't have to use such tactics to make you buy their products.

Eat shit. I am hyped.

I'm totally going to buy that shit. It was the only worthwhile thing in the entire direct. And I say this with full understanding that I do not represent a majority share of the audience. But as a collector of Nintendo products and as a G&W enthusiast going back almost 25 years, it is particularly awesome. All four of us are really happy today.
