80s cartoons knew they were slop and embraced it. You weren't going to hear about race and gender on 80s Ducktales.
Don’t lump DuckTales in with all the toy promo shows.

Disney put serious money and effort into their TV shows, while Hanna-Barberra, Ruby-Spears, DIC et al were trying to crank out the cheapest shit they could as long-form commercials.

Disney opened a whole new division of the company to do TV animation, opened new studios in France and Florida and DuckTales and the rest of the Disney Afternoon shows were a big cut above everything else for years.

Might solve a mystery or rewrite history.

TV Tropes users consider her a Sacred Cow.

That, and all the memes about her.

A short lesson about why words are weapons, and how the propaganda comes with how a thing is named: Let's look at the term "transgender". The "Trans" part implies an actual form shift, as if someone used homosex magic to copy/paste a being perfectly into something else, which of course isn't actually happening. The more accurate term was the original, "transvestite". Because it means you have simply swapped to the clothes of the opposite sex, it's a far more logical and un-propagandized term. Whether you cut off your dick or cut off your tits, your gender does not change one bit. Changing your vesture is all that can be realistically accomplished, which is why you should call these freaks Transvestites to this day. Calling them Transgender/Transsexuals plays into their larp, by suggesting what they seek to accomplish is within the realm of possibility via the very definition of the word - when it isn't nor ever will be. Never use the language the freaks want you to use.

Lecture over class.

The problem is that Nintendo fans can't accept any type of criticism towards that fucking company. Their unwillingness to accept how shitty Nintendo is to their customers is what makes it possible for them to get away with $80 games and $10 upgrade packs for a console that has not games outside of backwards compatibility
Never forget that Japanese domestic market was is and will be their primary focus and everything is tailored towards it.

There is no such thing as discounts - you save up and get it, or you dont.

There are so many defamation laws you can't even fucking review businesses out in the open, so you don't criticize shit - vote with your wallet or don't.

And then Nintenderp focus has long been casuals and kids via pokemon. They do whatever lunacy they want because Pokemon is what makes their entire revenue and surplus.

The other reason games don’t get discounted in Japan is that their trade-in market for used gear and games is much more mainstream and the shops that take trade-ins give fair value, because it’s illegal to rent games there.

There’s no need to mark down new copies when used copies are available and sold at a 30-50% discount within the first month of release, unlike North America where GameStop only takes $5 off a used game’s retail price.

Amusingly, the trade-in culture in Japan is how Microsoft has occasionally achieved negative weekly sales, as more people traded in an Xbox than bought one on multiple occasions.

Japanese used game stores will also sell loose used game cards online for like $20-$30 and they mail them to you as a letter so you don't pay any customs. Legit how I bought most my Switch games. The used game market in North America is fucking insane.

I remember EB before the GameStop buyout.

You could get PS1 games for $10-$20 used, new games as low as $14.99, it was awesome.

Their trade-in values were great too, paying $35 on a $50 game if it was in demand.

But movies, music and literally everything else down to pornos is fine.

GameStop is such a massive dumpster fire of a company.

But how are you gonna play that text-heavy RPG that's only in Japanese....? Also remember that historically their new games cost like $20-30 more. When Vita came out, some of those games were Y7000-8000 while they were good old $40 here.

Game pricing in Japan is a lot more flexible for new titles than it is in the west.

Sure, you’ll pay $20 more for a new Dragon Quest, but you probably won’t pay $80 for a puzzle game.

Also, you’d be surprised how many Japanese games have English menus and even in-game text for the older generation systems.
