You are mistaken. There are digital keys sold on cardstock for Switch 1, but for Switch 2 there are some games where the "physical" releases are on cartridge-shaped dongles called Key Cards, but which require downloading the game from the eShop as there is nothing on the cartridge aside from the license key.

The Only switch 2 edition that looks worth any while seems to the be the upcoming Kirby and the Forgotten land expansion. This Mario party one seemed to be clearly rushed out to sell the new gimmicks and nothing else.
