Switch sold more on week 1 than Steam Deck did in years 1 and 2 combined. It is a win.

That number is irrelevant for people who play on PC. The Steam Deck is a subset of that, it is another PC form factor. The win comes from the freedom it offers to do with my hardware as I please and not having Nintendo looking over my shoulder ready to brick my purchase on a whim.

Previews are highlighting the performance problems of DK Bananza, stating that the game often drops from 60 to 30 fps. Tendies are back to the "only fun matters!" discourse... which, in that case, why do you need a new $450 system with upgraded graphics for then?

This is the argument of a retard. Switch 1 had 8 years, longer than nearly any other console out there. Move on, fucker, move on.

"only fun matters!"

Although, Switch 2 should be stronger, if only to get better 3rd party support and justify its pricing.

"Despite those issues, I still like the company and I'm happy to continue giving Nintendo my money despite their flaws."
"'Nintendo does not give away it's content for free;' and I find this attitude incredibly based."
"I'm glad that they have this attitude because it inoculates them against the worst excesses of the broader industry."
"They have some self-respect, and that means they don't try to squeeze every last penny out of you."

The actual argument is fair (it's good someone feels proud in their own work, even if it means that they'll charge more than you as the customer would otherwise like, because it means they won't engage in Jewy underhanded tactics to swindle you out of money/compromise on quality), but this just isn't true with Nintendo (granted in comparison to the lowliest sludge producers of the industry like Activision-Blizzard, EA, or Ubisoft, it's true). Producing the Switch 2 with a horrendously bad LCD screen either out of lack of QC or purposefully to avoid raising the price is one such example of a compromise a suit would make that a proud artiste wouldn't.

I do see Nintendo is on a bit of a ticking clock. The hardcore fans are skewing older and older and kids are more attracted to PC gaming based on watching streamers. Their characters and IP are still iconic and recognizable though and I see them trying to leverage that with the mario and zelda movies but all the nintendo fanboys are chasing a dragon from when they were ten year olds. If the next crop of kids arent getting hooked on mario and zelda early then they will probably move on to other stuff.
I imagine things like the Mario movie were attempts at ensuring a new crop of tendies exists in the future. Further, Nintendo still has the ever popular Pokémon.

Also, inasmuch as we can pooh-pooh on the Switch 2's sales figures, are the competition doing any better? Insofar as I know the PS5 is performing undesirably when compared to the success of the PS4 and Xbox may as well not exist as a console.

I heard Nintendo raised game prices in addition to console prices, chat is this true

and maybe the woman who created the video too.
"I like Daisy because LITERALLY ME" is a pretty big red flag

EDIT: I find it funny that "tomboy" was part of the LITERALLY ME because nothing about that woman's personality comes off as tomboyish to me.
If anything, she minces even harder than gay men do

Yeah you're probably much saner than the retards showcased in the video and maybe the woman who created the video too.
I don't know if you noticed, but there was a shocking amount of horny posting and porn going on over elephant Peach and Daisy back when Wonder came out. It was all over /v/ for a while.
I should probably know better by now, but I still have a have a hard time believing that kind of stuff isn't an ironic joke. The idea people seriously wanna fuck cartoon elephants is so weird.
