I'm fine with banning politics if it's all politics and not just one side.
Do I need to remind you how current the year is?

You ban a libtard from being able to be a libtard, the journalist fucks write essay pieces on *thing" becoming a haven for right wing nazi Punchbuggies because they don't have a preacher to Wololo everyone into the one true belief system of corporately backed neoliberalism.

You left out PC with Hardware manufacturers fucking over their customers, software developers using cloud licenses so you don't really own the product you buy, early access scams, and corporate retardation from both Epic and Valve.
The older I get the more I believe that gamers deserve to be treated this way. Especially the more recent generations of gamers. They're entitled bitches. Who would want to be nice to someone that is literally never pleased with what you do, even if you go above and beyond to give them what they want?

Stop being a faggot by being bothered by what other faggots do.

It's a mark on you if you release a subpar product.

Meme Mutahar laid it on thick towards these Nintenbros
His financial arguments are outdated (Nintendo is doing good business these days) and as Nintendo continues to monetize its back catalog they have good reason to hate emulators. Nintendo isn't "our friend" but he's wrong if he thinks that fighting against emulators is hatred of the fanbase. They hate emulators, they always will and people who can't understand why are retards.

Yeah no, digital only releases that are tied to a subscription don't count since you don't own them.

The most comprehensive Nintendo Collections that we've gotten were the NES and SNES classic and the Kirby collection taking a distant third.

Compare that to sega which has given us Multiple Genesis collections that each total to 40+ games and every release switches in some new games that were not in the previous collection(i.e. The Genesis mini containing the castlevania game and the Disney games).

Nintendo makes money from the subscription service off of them. From Nintendo's point of view, they do count. They have also sold millions of copies of the lazy three game "All Stars" they put out this year, millions of copies of the Link's Awakening Remake, a million plus on that Wii U Wind Waker remake, etc. And, most importantly, they sell new releases in those franchises based at least partially on people who want to play "a Mario game" again.

Its a specific strategy that Nintendo has, they refuse to "devalue" their games by releasing them in massive collections like Sega and Capcom do and they are entirely allergic to the idea of abandonware, which is what people like Mutahir seem to think stuff like Pokemon and SMB should be.

Multiplayer games that have a dead server or can't be played on modern hardware are kinda setting one foot into the abdaonware category.

Notice that the Archstones are still up for Demon's Souls and that's a fan run online server complete with allowing PC users to emulate the PS3 game, yet Sony hasn't given them a DMCA despite having the DES Remake be the front runner for the PS5.

Nintendo has the characters and stages in a current version of the game, which sells millions of copies each year. Its clearly not abandoned or forgotten about. They want people buying Ultimate, and they want online play, and play in general, with their characters to be done through official means on legally purchased software. They do not want people playing, or even thinking about, ROMs, EMUs, taking code off of carts or discs or any of that.

If you want to talk about treating fans like crap, you can talk about forced scarcity or the shitty nature of 3D All Stars as a compilation with no remade features or extras (and a game missing.)

Sony evidently has different strategies.

Hey remember that time Nintendo slapped a rom of Super Mario All-Stars for SNES onto a Wii disc and charged $40 for it?

And it wasn't even the verison that included Super Mario World?

And also how they had a "Limited Edition" version that just came with a music CD where half of the tracks were seriously just sound effects?

It's getting to be a loooooong time since they gave away that Zelda 4-pack as a freebie just for subscribing to Nintendo Power.

I believe remembering that the N64 games sold in the Wii shop were essentially broken too? However, I preferred the old way of selling retro games like any other title (just like the old PSN store that sold PS1 classics for the PSP, PS3 and Vita) rather than this crappy alternative of having to subscribe to an online service in order to play retro games for a limited amount of time.

It's less about "[insert vidya company] hates customers" and more current business shenanigans taking advantage of their horde of fanboys having lower and lower standards anyway.

I will defend Nintendo a little bit.

They are still selling most virtual console games that are up for emulation. Even taking out the subscription, 3DS and Wii U are still profiting off the titles as they have all of Nintendo’s heavy hitters from NES, SNES, N64, Wii, GB, GBA, DS, and Game & Watch. Other than GameCube, you can play all titles on still relatively current systems. There are also the Classic consoles, which run old games as well. Remakes are also a factor, seeing as Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Mario & Luigi, Link’s Awakening and others have been remade on the past 3 consoles.

As for the Smash stuff, is anyone really surprised? The people who talk about it act as though Smash’s competitive community is good for Nintendo even though they spent years saying any game other than Melee is garbage and are now on lock down with numerous pedophile allegations. I feel the community turns more people off with their childishness, bad hygiene, and now child touching. Smash gets on just fine without competitive as it is not a fighting game. The characters sell it and will continue to do so until the end of time.

^^yes but the wii U and 3ds are both defunct console, and if I remember well the switch subscription model is more akin to rental...
Gabe newell have clearly said this, yet steam is the most profitable video game selling service
We think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem," he said. "If a pirate offers a product anywhere in the world, 24 x 7, purchasable from the convenience of your personal computer, and the legal provider says the product is region-locked, will come to your country 3 months after the US release, and can only be purchased at a brick and mortar store, then the pirate's service is more valuable
