I see clear differences in shape and size. Everyone IS smaller in the UE5 version, but not in a pure "reduce by X percent" manner. Ayane's left breast for example goes out a bit further in the UE5 screenshot, but there's different detail on her cleavage and skin compared to the original. It also seems to have a softer curve or "drop" in its overall shape. At the same time, it's not just a breast size reduction, all the female characters seem like they were made slimmer all over.

Note the shoulder and thigh contours.

Note the shoulders again. On the other hand, the shading on the cleavage is more intense in the UE5 version, and while this is a video screenshot, Irene's breasts actually jiggle HARDER and FURTHER in the UE5 version. Pay attention to the facial expressions too. It seems like with Sega's handling of Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2, Team Ninja just did some art passes (Like subdividing the models and then making everyone smaller to reduce the need for cleanup) that were heavily assisted by their available software and just let the engine do the rest. This was the case for what appeared to be Lollipop Chainsaw RePop's being censored.

Similar size, but the breasts "jitter" more in the original version. It seems like in the UE5 version, when the chest moves, it MOVES, but softer motions are more dampened, while the opposite is true for the Xbox version.
My only real issue is that it doesn’t really “pop” like the original, but that’s an issue with the game in general. It’s not as vibrant so yes, it lacks the artstyle of the original. Extreme cherry picking like this only serves to discredit an actual argument against censorship. I genuinely only see a difference in lighting. Did they give her a flat chest? A flat ass? A man jaw? Nope.

Worth the time and hard drive space to try it out? Never play that 3d Ninja Gaiden's before.
Worth it? Ehh, it’s not too different from the original. The blood effects are cool and I guess if you like shiny new graphics you’ll like it, but that’s about it. It really just serves as a holdover game for ninja gaiden 4.

Original game = 5 GB
Remaster = 85 GB

Why are Unreal 5 games so fucking huge?
My hypothesis: I think the bloat is partially there to deter piracy. If you live out in the middle of nowhere you're less likely to pirate a game that's almost 100 gigs.

That or developer laziness or publisher insistence on having every single fucking language track known to man be baked into the game because they're afraid the DarksydePhil's of the world won't be able to figure out which language to select when they first boot up the game.

The original NG2 is only on Xboxes.

I've played up until the third level now, it's good. I mean, it's the same as it was but it looks better and doesn't have the frame rate issues. The higher enemy count really sets it apart from NG 2 Sigma, it's so fun obliterating tons of enemies that aren't damage sponges. It also runs well, I'm playing at 4k on a 4060Ti(16GB) and it holds a steady 60 on whatever settings the game chose upon start. "Standard" I think it said in the graphics options. Oddly enough DLSS is absent from the Gamepass version...

GOOD! They fucking sucked!
Now that the breast issue appears settled, I'm kinda curious how it stands wrt to the differences between 2 and Sigma 2. Ideally imo it would be a mix of the two. I saw a negative Steam review sperging that it was basically Sigma 2 with blood added, but apparently that's not entirely true.

Also: my gut tells me that the new 2D Ninja Gaiden is going to be a gay Soulslike where you iframe dodge telegraphed attacks from giant bosses and the new Shinobi will mog it. Also: the poll is missing Ninja Gaiden: The Arcade game and the Master System one.

I know fuck all about 3d Ninja Gaiden. Is this version of 2 preferable to the version from the Ninja Gaiden Trilogy or should I just ignore everything and see if I can emulate the 360 version?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I was a filthy degenerate who played the sigma version.

Sigma or the original version? It’s better than sigma because there’s actually gore, and I mean if you like shinier graphics then yes I suppose you could say this one is better. It just depends on which one you prefer visually.

The Trilogy pack has Sigma 2.

OG 2 has gore, lost of enemy's that spam, no female stages. Very Hard.

Basic reasons S2 is bad. No gore, more bosses that break the flow ( and are terrible ) less enemy's, no currency to upgrade weapons.
Positive's. More Weapons, Female Ninja Stages ( debatable if it's good but I liked them ) few more costume's.

NG2B : A mixture of the good and bad from S2 trying to bring it back to OG feeling. Gore is back, No extra Bosses, Additional weapons from Sigma, female Ninja stages. Enemy's are more like Sigma in there being less of them. Hope you have 80 GB worth of space to store it.

If you really want an impossible challenge stick OG. If you want a hard enough challenge grab NG2B.

The boob size have been changed, this is no good guys.

Just rip the models and compare if you really want to be sure.

For me right now, I can't tell because it looks like there are significant shading differences.

The one thing I don't get that people who are hard OG 2 fans say the gameplay isn't as hard enough as OG 2. That's one change in Sigma I liked in that you can play the game without having to rely on Ultimate Technique every single fight on higher difficulties when the game spawns 7 exploding Kunai Ninja in a narrow room.

I've played a little bit more. The mobs are smaller than NG2 but they are larger than Sigma 2. The enemies come in waves which can be a little bit befuddling if a room is cleared very quickly. You think you're done but three seconds later the next wave arrives. This seems to be a balance decision and not a technical decision. Possibly a corporate political decision("Fuck you, Itagaki!")
When that system works as intended it's fun but there are lots of wide, open, areas that are not suited for it. Enemies don't spawn from nowhere right in front of you so the next wave has to run into the arena and cross these large open spaces to get to you...

The healthpools of the enemies are more "normal" now so combat is a bloodbath, as it should be. Limbs fly off much more easily compared to S2 and for those that haven't played any of the NG2 games the crippled ninjas are dangerous because they'll go for suicide attacks. But there's a button(strong attack) that executes them, so get rid of them, quickly!

They kept a lot of other changes from Sigma 2 but also gave up on some of their more retarded changes. Money(essence) has value again. Sort of... The extra bosses are thankfully gone.

Is it worth $50? Nah, it's a remake of a game that have already been remade. I actually think services like Gamepass is the perfect place for these kinds of releases. It's a bonus game.

It's a bonus game.
As I said, it’s a holdover game for the actual BIG game. (Ninja Gaiden 4) it’s more of a “oh shit cool, now I have a good reason to replay ninja gaiden 2” type of game rather than anything crazy.

I personally bought it because I wanna vote with my wallet that I WANT more games like ninja gaiden.

Unfortunately the hell stairs in NGB2 are nowhere near as packed as they are in Vanilla. Also the other character missions are not optional, which is why I never liked them. They break up the pacing too much. They should function like alt characters in DMC3 or the SE characters in 4. I should be able to play the whole game with them. Also why didn't they add a bloody palace analogue? Why is NGB the only game to have one?

For NG4, I'm surprisingly optimistic. I'm not a huge fan of the combat in Platinums games simply because they have the same issue DMC has where the enemies feel way too passive. NG4 doesn't seem to have that issue. One thing I'm hopeful for considering Platinum is involved is that the game will actually have good bosses. NG bosses are at their best when they're against a single other humanoid (Murai, Doku, Genshin) and at their worst against big floating monsters (Awakened Alma, Helicopters, T. rex).

Does anyone know if the the collections they released a few years back run poorly on PC? This is pretty much the only spectacle fighter franchise I never touched, and my understanding is that the 2 remake they put out doesn’t have NG+ for some crazy reason.

General tips for someone that’s put hundreds of hours into DMC and Bayonetta would be appreciated.

The Master Ninja collection runs like greased lightning these days. I think I played it on a AMD RX 480 and could crank everything up, including super-sampling AA, with no problem. The best game in that collection is NG1.
