Sometimes, I wonder how he gets enough money to keep repeatedly stuffing his face. I know that he most likely gets some money from YouTube, but the advertiser pay rates are usually abysmal - usually a few cents per thousand views.

Something like that. It used to astound me as a kid, seeing some whippet-thin Honger absolutely destroying gigantic American fatties both black and white at that famous NY hot-dog eating contest year after year. Since then I've only seen one huge Samoan dude really do well in eating challenges, most winners are guys like Furious Pete who are generally in fantastic shape, which makes sense when you think about it. The guys who build muscle have to take huge protien loads and some carbs so can eat a fuck of a lot.

Ironically those eating contests require training and discipline, as well as the fact that top contestants never eat like that otherwise. The point of them isn't to eat a lot of food for enjoyment, it's to eat as much as possible in a short timespan as a sport. So of course your average lazy fat guy who can eat a lot, but has no actual discipline isn't going to be able to beat a fit/skinny dude who specifically trains himself to do these things, even if he can out-eat him in a normal context
