I think a lot of people make the mistake of presuming that because Nick is self aware and intelligent that it equates to him being in control. Which he is absolutely not. Nick may have intelligently swayed his eating disorder to be profitable but he’s no more in control of his eating disorder than Amberlynn or Chantal Marie. He just has the intelligence and self awareness to market himself in a more likable and profitable way. And he even deludes himself I suppose sometimes into thinking he’s “two steps ahead” and he may be in a lot of ways.

I’m sure he knows the YouTube game like the back of his hand. But even super intelligent people are not immune to the horrible, horrible world of mental illness that is eating disorder. Nick is smart, but his mental illness and eating disorder is the same as the fat fucks in death fats forum and he’s deff not in control of it.

it dawned on me that its very likely he has given up, or even considered suicide at one point, and instead of going out quietly, he decided to run with it as far as he can, or rather waddle with it.... and man is gonna waddle straight into the grave
if youre gonna waste yourself anyway, why not make one of the strangest performance art pieces with what's left of your life before you head out?

I think August the Duck on Youtube (maybe it was a different channel) made a perfect argument for why Nick's not in control. He put himself in a gilded cage with gilded shackles. He's delusional if he thinks he can just do a weight loss arc if he gets tired of being the new Chance Carmichael. No1curr about your jurnee. Only results at the end which, for shitheads like Hambutt means no attenshunzz. I don't think Nick can do that. Hell, I'm not even sure if he did anything smart like saving his money for retirement or something when everyone gets bored of him.
 
That internet fame is going to help him when his body finally gives out, which I presume is going to happen at some point between this and 5 years. He may be extremely self-aware about what it is doing to him, but I do believe addiction is at play. Either it is addiction to the attention or just the food in general. I can't honestly believe you can feel comfortable in your skin being that obese, even if your job is just sitting in front of a camera and acting like a complete retard.

Wasn't there a period where he didn't post for like a month, or longer? My guess is, he genuinely took steps towards some form of weight-loss surgery, but decided that it was all either too hard to do, or couldn't kick the food addiction.

I'm genuinely surprised YouTube hasn't cracked down on videos like that and hit them over the head with the demonetization hammer. Someone talking about true crime gets slapped around the ears 70 times, but somehow they find this to be perfectly acceptable content. I'm not advocating demonetization for anyone, I'm merely stating there are some very strange decisions made by YT these days.

imo, its the attention
im sure he likes the food, but i cant imagine eating pounds and pounds of the same ol rotating door of noodles, hamburgers and weird cheesy concoctions is too fun, and it'd get old very very fast, even for a glutton like him
in fact i sometimes get the impression that he doesnt even really enjoy the food he eats at all, but he doesnt know anything else, both his palette and his brain are so fried on the gallons of oil he chugs that he gets no pleasure out of it, yet he would get no pleasure from anything better either, hes not just dying from obesity, hes also killing his ability to enjoy life which is why he needs constant attention, stimulation and the feeling of eating so much spicy noodles they start coming out of his ass the same way they went in

Honestly I’m Nicks case it doesn’t really matter whether or not he’s mentally ill I think deep down Nick knows he won’t make it but he’s comfortable either way going down this path. It doesn’t matter whether he is or he isn’t mentally ill, he’s still eating all that food, he’s still doing irreversible damage to his body. Even if it does go on for years it’s unlikely he’ll live to be an old man obviously. He’s still essentially dying from all his food intake.

Maybe even if its not mental illness and it’s simply an addiction to being an admittedly entertaining actor and attention whore I still think Nick qualifies as a lolcow simply because I can see his character starting to take over and it becoming his new personality as he’s unable to distinguish between the two.

Nope he’ll never die, thsi man really is indestructible. Of people like Chantal and Amberlyn or that whale HungryFatChick he’s friends with can live as long as they’ve done being objectively far bigger than Nick he has far more of a chance of outliving them all. Nick brings this up in one of his videos that he is much less overweight than his contemporaries, while he’s definitely bullshitting about his health for laughs he knows that he has the upper hand, I think he’ll be around for years to come honestly.

Big difference between those two though. Nick is all an act (and what is strange is the videos where the act is dropped, he's quite tolerable) and he doesn't beg you every 25 seconds to tip him, nor he is conning people out of money.

Not gunna lie, the comedy podcasts hes done lately show him to be in pretty good humor about himself, if not a bit funny himself.

He actually, to his credit, has decent comedic timing and reactions. He hams it up in all his videos because that is what people expect and it makes him money hand over fist. He is very self aware from what I gather that he is slowly killing himself just to make money so he has to have a good sense of humor about it.
 
This was one of his most relaxed videos I've ver seen, I wish more of them were like this.
