Maybe Nick isn't "back" at all, he could've been recording a fuck ton of videos during his absence to release while he's undergoing some weight loss surgery or begins his health arc etc etc. It just seems too suspicious that he didn't address how long he's been away or monetise on all the speculations of where he waddled off to... everything is business as usual.
 
Nick looks way fatter than next time, and I'm convinced that he was quiet either due to wanting a vacation or he just wanted to drum up some attention.

The first 500 pound gorl was posted on July 13, so we know it was at least filmed after that. Aside from that, you could be totally correct.
