Never done a topic post before, I think I'm in the right place. Community watch seems apt.

This game was already marketed at tumblr types. Just a quick search of queer and the game's title (or handle) on Twitter gives you this -

Why all the praise for the game being queer? That has to do with one of the devs, Scott Benson - https://twitter.com/bombsfall

A man who, you guessed it, spews antifa rhetoric and general leftist bullshit -

At one point I think Scott's handle was '#1 Anti-Fascist Uncle'. What a charming dude.
May also be a person of interest, being a game dev and all. I did search his handle and name prior to making this thread and was a little surprised at how there's nothing.

I do not use tumblr and I am honestly a little afraid to see the circlejerk going on over this game. I don't know what freaky furry shit I'm going to find.

I guarantee you this game's fandom is going to snowball out of control like Undertale's.

Could y'all link to the game or a video of it? Explain it a bit for those of us who aren't Twitter fags.

Night in the Woods is a single-player adventure video game for Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, and PlayStation 4. It is developed by Infinite Fall, a studio founded by game designer Alec Holowka, and animator/illustrator Scott Benson. It is an exploration game focused primarily on story in which players control a cat named Mae, who recently dropped out of college and has returned to her hometown to find unexpected change. It was funded via crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, where it eventually earned over 400% of its US$50,000 funding goal.[1]

In December 2013, Holowka and Benson, along with co-writer Bethany Hockenberry, released a companion game titled Longest Night.[2] In December 2014, a second supplemental game was released, titled Lost Constellation.[3]

Looks like a Kickstarter scam game. The game is on the PS4, too. They put anything on there lately.

I'm pretty sure the reviews in Steam will shed some light into this mess:

Or they will make it worse. This guy played it for 30 minutes and is already deep throating it so hard I can almost hear it from here. It also looks like 13 out of 14 people are queers.

Maybe I'm just being a party pooper, but seriously though, there's 2 type of reviews: People who played it for like an hour and are praising it like a golden idol of tism and the people that played it for more than 5 hours and say it's just a mediocre game but with good plot. Yep, Undertale 2.0 indeed.

This is the launch trailer for the game, as far as I can tell:

I actually like the art style (unlike Undertale's), though I absolutely hate the soundtrack. I do like the little moment around 0:44 when the ibex-looking thing shouts "No Fascists at this party!" apropos of nothing except Scott Benson's hard-on for anti-fascism.

As a side note, what's so great about A Night In the Woods being a "queer" game? What is so great about diversity if it's only there for diversity's sake? I think it's just because these people have no identity besides "queer," which, to quote an actual transgender woman, makes them fucking boring. These trend-following idiots have no real identity of their own, so they advocate anything that has people of the gender/sexuality/whatever that they have co-opted for their own identity.

I actually met one of the developers of this game at a convention I went to last year. It was set up in the hipster indie section and I spoke with one of the developers (not sure who exactly) for a bit while playing the demo.

The game's got an interesting concept but the developer didn't seem to know much from a technical perspective. The is one of those games that artists make to try and tell some story, but don't offer much in the terms of gameplay aside from running around and talking to people.

Next undertale indeed

I should've put this in my OP post, but I wonder if there's a Richard Spencer furry insert you can punch in this game. Would not shock me.

Also looks to be garnering a large furry fandom, predictably enough. Not that furries and tumblr are mutually exclusive.

Antifa furries who hate capitalism? All you need added onto this is some obese incel/love shy background and you would have the embodiment of every lolcows ever born.

Previously on Scott Benson cuckoldry:
The guy he's re-tweeting (Scott Benson) is a developer of an indie game named "Night at the Woods" and he's part of the leftist gaming clique affiliated with SJW sites like Giant Bomb and Polygon. He's the typical far-left SJW: violence and censorship are good if it's against people I don't like, anti-capitalist, anti-west etc.View attachment 168825
He's written for Giant Bomb recently, in fact:

And among the leftist nutcases in Giant Bomb's comment section, a voice of reason:

Ironically, if authoritarian leftist trash like Benson got the political state they wanted the country really would be a police state.

Also, I never cease to be impressed at how all of these leftist let's players, games devs and journalists are connected to each other.
Voidburger actually applied to be part of Polygon (making let's play content IIRC) a while ago as well, if I recall (she got turned down, because even Polygon has higher standards).

It seems more like a graphic novel than a game, even more so than Undertale. Usually when watching playthroughs I get annoyed that I'd do things differently, but... yeah it doesn't look like you have much choice with how to play this one.

Quite a few posts on tumblr about it seem to be fans saying "oh no please don't let this become the next Undertale", as though that wasn't the intention of the devs.

I wondered why those tweets were saying it was "anti capitalist", then I saw that it had a shoplifting mini-game.
