That wasn't that important. Romania was EXTREMELY impoverished, far more than 1990s North Korea. Ceausescu would take loans from western countries like a madman, and then, to pay off, austerity programs was enacted, which drove people into levels of poverty never seen in Eastern bloc. Enough said, Romanian TV would broadcast only 2 hours per day, if you happened to have a TV. So, he had an entire country fed up with him, most of the party wishing he just fucked off and died, not to mention at least sizable portion of military. Hungarian minority debacle was just a catalyst.

Also, what happened after he was ACKed: his old friend, Ion Iliescu took the wheel. He started reversing Ceausescu's natsbol bullshit policies, but don't think he was a massive reformist and free market economy supporter... nah, he would send up miners to beat up anti-communist students protesting against old commie fucks that LARPed as "social democrats". Romanian nigger cattle voted for him until mid 2000s.

He's such a weird one. One could say he inspired Ceausescu to transform Romania into North Korea as well, as Dej was extremely nationalistic for a communist - in early 1950s he would expel kikes, russians and Stalinists from the party (even doe he was Stalinist as well), would often disagree with Soviets, as he really fucking hated them. He would even let publishing Karl Marx's russophobic takes, something that was banned throughout the entire Soviet bloc.

To be honest, there were a lot of communist/socialist cows: from Hugo Chavez, through Mugabe, Gaddafi, Kims, Hoxha, Khmer Rouge, Carlos the Jackal (god was he fucked in the head, excellent material for a thread). Khruschev was also a massive retard.
