Nice Guys

My approach was to just dial a cop and go "hey this guy is threatening to kill himself right now, he sounds serious and crazy!" That way my conscious is clear without having to engage with them anymore and they usually get the shit scared out of them when their parents or roommates ask them why the police are there.

Not that they'd ever actually do it, but if they try to spread rumors and shit about how heartless you are, you at least have the defense of "I took that shit seriously"

Similar thing happened to me with this friend of mine who was really getting on the group chat's nerves.
He shared with the whole group he was going to do it, I didn't believe him so I rung the group via video chat, he picked up, looked like he was fine, but he said he OD'd (didn't look like it) I was the only one who knew him, his full name and address, etc so I phoned the authorities when I hung up.

We definitely weren't as close as friends since then. My guess is that whoever I contacted talked to him about his actions and behaviour because he seemed fine and was able to talk. Bigger hint is he wanted to talk to me about something at college the next day. If he actually did anything to himself he wouldn't be back at college the next day? I don't know about the laws on psych holds in the UK unless you actually needed your stomach pumped because of the pills or bleach or something.

The only "nice guy" I encountered seem to think that because I got involved with two people he knows, that means I have to have sex with him "you got with these two people but not me". Seeming to be unable to grasp the fact that I was interested in them but not him.

He was also saying things like "I could have done stuff with you when you were drunk, and you suggested we do things when drunk but I didn't" (though I remember everything, and did nothing of the sort)... Dude, if someone was wasted and still didn't want to do anything with you, maybe that's a hint. And no, you do not get points for not banging someone who is near blackout drunk. That's not an achievement, that's human decency. Some of them, like this guy, actually play the "i was decent and didn't fuck you when you were drunk, so I deserve a chance because I'm not like the other guys" card- let's be real here, if they think they deserve some kind of kudos or reward for not taking advantage of someone who had drunk so much they couldn't think straight, they're very mistaken.

Sounds like the "virtuous pedophiles" who give themselves a proud label because they don't rape children.

Not raping isn't virtuous. It's just the minimum that's expected.

How delusional must one be to believe someone posts on social media just to get his attention specifically?!
There's an actual condition called erotomania where one person is convinced another person is in love with them and communicates that love through secret glances, indirect messages via media etc. I can see social media being REALLY bad for people prone to delusions like that (and even worse for the poor people at the receiving end of all that crazy)

Yeah, it's a nasty form of psychosis. She did the right thing in blocking him, contact of any sort just encourages them.

Stacy is a girl's name, so no. I appreciate the joke though.

The thing is, they'll find a way to get back to you. Even nice guys are stuck in some sort of warped mindset and worldview. The worst one being "if i continue to pursue her, she's bound to love me eventually"
