I can't take "The Man in The Suit" seriously for a number of reasons but the biggest is that the name reminds me of the intro to Harvey Birdman, Attourney at Law.

It's been awhile since even I looked at the series, and I am not rewatching it to check again. I don't think my heart could take it.
I won't say it "got political", because obviously that's not true. But you know that image, that says " this is what liberals think metal gear solid was?" And it was solid snake right next to a cartoon trump and an abortion rally? It felt like it was becoming that.
I'm a very big believer, that good politics is merely downhill from good philosophy. If you can explain the morals and ethics behind a decision, than the candidate you vote for should naturally follow. To push a specific party means they don't see you as a human that thinks through decisions, but an animal that needs to be leaded to the right side of the fence. All games(media) have philosophy, not politics.
I thought Manticore was on the same page as me on this. I mean, the Mythosverse is "technically" the united states, but it's such an outlandish version that it works well for an allegory.
And then DEBATEDEMON happened. Most of the episode was unedited audio of each republican candidate giving their response to the issue of school shootings. But there was a spooky demon behind them the entire time. Now keep in mind, this is the series where Rockefeller shoves a blimp full of severed heads and sells them to the germans during world war two. This is a series where Nixon, as superman, is brainwashed by the government to destroy Vietnam, while transformed into the shape of a floating jesus on the cross.
I brushed this off, as him having an off episode. But then in the next one, out of fucking nowhere, not connected to the plot happening around it, he plays another audio of a mass shooting, along with every other mass shooting response by a president on record.
Along with just a rather weak starting plot, this finally killed it for me. What I hear now from the thread only turning me off further. I still enjoy the early work, but instead of seeing him as a creative that I am excited to see perfect his craft, I now have to say under the same disappointed breath as a creator like lorg bung. To any aspiring creative: do not let twitter crazies anywhere fucking near you. They will not just destroy your life, they will tear out your soul.

I find it weird how there isn't more tranalog horror/scenarios featuring actual groomer behavior where pedoes actively use coded language on luring their victims towards rape (ala goonclown). Then again viewers would probably bitch and scream how "YOU CANT USE REAL LIFE PEDO LANGUAGE FOR THE VILLAIN, THATS HECKING PROBLEMATIC AND DISRESPECTFUL!!!!!"

I remember DEBATEDEMON but I definitely tapped out for the other one. The debate demon was extra retarded because it is a transplant from the original Monument Mythos universe (Virginia), so his fictitious character is passing judgement on real people for real shit. The Monument Mythos Today was Alex at his most schizoid so is pretty funny to see that he nuked that experiment like he does EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. TIME. he doesn't know how to progress.
Surprise, surprise Wendigoon never called him out for trivializing real life shit for his larp.

Okay, rate me autistic, because I might actually be losing my mind here - but I can't shake the feeling that some Creepypasta-narrators are now using AI-voices?
Newest example:
I've been listening to this guy for years now, and something about his newest upload is just.. off? I'm not sure if it's really noticeable when you haven't heard his other narrations but I could swear he used AI for this one. The tone is just off and weirdly flat, sometimes words are cut off near the end, the pauses seem unnatural and sometimes there's a weird 'ringing' noise between words?
Or am I just being weirdly paranoid andseeing hearing AI where there's none?

While you can definitely argue that Manticore’s work already had a political bent, it shifted into overdrive since 2023. I blame it on connecting with a Youtuber with a similar style.
DanBCFilms did a series of absurdist political horror called the Executive Shutdown, about Joe Biden having an exosuit and Trump releasing the Organism.
Manticore worked with him on this and I believe it inspired Manticore to be more open about modern political opinions.
its such a shame too, i really like the style of his earlier videos , same "what the fuck i am watching" feeling that Lynch's "Eraserhead" gives out, its so weird, so surreal that it doesn't even look like something scripted by a human being

I like how subtle it is, if only the dialog was written to be more realistic. I think that's a problem with a lot of PSAs. I can't imagine a 16yr old immediately agreeing to meet up with some dude online out of the blue like that.
You know what would be cool to see, not really because it would be amazing to participate it, but moreso something akin to seeing a train wreck? An ARG/analog horror con .I want to fedpost so badly. Something something TTD something.

The point is that she's not 16 though, both are lying about their age, she's a small child pretending to be older to seem mature (a real thing kids do online) and he's an adult pretending to be a teenager to lower her guard.

Reminds me of a Nostalgia Critic video I watched a long time ago, where he was criticizing The Lorax for dumbing down the message of the original book into "evil people do bad things but you're a good person so it's okay." You can portray child abusers, but you can't make the audience feel like their friends/their group/they themselves could become child abusers. The bad guys have to be specific bad guys (like the original child murderer from Petscop, Jeane Newmaker,) or a non-specific monster like the things in Gemini Home Entertainment or the Backrooms monsters. Maybe you can criticize the government a little (Mandela Catalogue, Monument Mythos, Woodlands National Park,) but people react really shitty when your bad guy is a generic person, because "hey, that could be me! That could be my friends on Discord, or the sociopolitical ingroup I identify with! This thing is attacking me in particular!!" It's like the only time these people actually relate to a character that isn't a 1:1 representation of them is when it's a potential threat to their valid status.

I don't hear it personally in that example, but there's definitely channels using AI voices without disclosing that fact, even sub 500 sub ones.

Since it's October and I don't really think there's a more appropriate thread to discuss it in I'm gonna say it here.
Am I the only one that thought the original ending to BEN DROWNED was absolutely perfect and thought the continuation and all of the ARG and alternate universe bullshit was fucking cringe and retarded?
Like my interest completely dropped through the floor when I heard the stupid alternate post apocalyptic universe shit. The original story and videos were perfect. They were creepy, mysterious and didn't answer too many questions, just enough to make you wonder and the ambiguous ending where we had no idea whether Jadusable got, got by Benny boy or what. I genuinely think the story should've just been left at that. Anything past the ending of the original story is non-canon in my eyes.
Imo it should've just stayed a simple story about a potentially haunted cartridge and nothing else. (Hell if you wanted to go full autismo you could even reason that many of the things in the original story like Jad seeing BEN outside of the game and talking to him could've just been him going schizo mode if you really wanted to completely ignore the truly paranormal aspect.)

was talking to my significant other about this idea where theres a horror movie and you are inside a house thats been built 1:1 to a kids drawing and the main goal is just to escape, it was either that or have a black comedy about a house that has a gmod esque kos sign but in real life lmao
