Good movie night.

Got some suggestions for future movie nights.

Shrink Ray/Growth Ray/Teleporter movies: Think The Fly, or The Fantastic Voyage, or Attack of the 50 foot women, or Honey I shrunk the Kids.

Classic Hong Kong movie night: It's been awhile since we last done one of these

KFMNPromo movie night: A night that's just the movies that has those scenes that appear on those promo vids before every movie.

Bible movie night: Just the good, the bad, and the Mel Gibson.

The Kiwifarms virtual anime convention: Anime movies and other stuff from Japan.

Eastern Block movie night: Movies that were made in the Soviet Union and it's satellite states.

Some of these themes have happened in some form or the other in the past yearish. Wacky 50s science films (giant cheerleaders and shrink rays) could be a cool idea for a theme as most of the movies that fit it get passed up or have a really niche connection to themes. Anime will be hard to get past chat and we try not to have subtitled stuff for Friday since that's the day most people join and it's annoying to have to read every movie. The Hong Kong stuff usually has goofy dubs so it's easier to pass off. I know last April we did a GBZ about the crucifixion and ran The Gospels according to St Matthew, The last temptation and The Passion. I'd hold off until a Christian holiday imo to suggest that kinda theme again. Eastern block I think is two years out at this point, but we've probably played a lot of the staples of USSR based Soviet stuff. We did have a Balkans GBZ just last week as well.

Promo night would be fun as there's a ton of stuff to choose from and a lotta the old promos we haven't brought the movies to for a while. I'll remember to bring up stuff on the list tomorrow when the vote happens!

I probably won’t be around for the next few Sundays, so I wanted to put a movie night suggestion here before I forget: Career Ending Movies

Examples: Cutthroat Island, The Postman, Heavens Gate, Inchon, The Conqueror , The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Zanadu, Pluto Nash, Battlefield Earth, could probably sneak in a reshowing of Megalopolis

Getting kind of sick of "Celebrity dies. Must have theme changed to be about them."

I am in favor of doing this if either (A) it's a mega celebrity like Tom Cruise or someone like that or (B) it can be really funny like Andy Dick night when he eventually OD's on fent.

Okay, possibly being a hypocrite (call me out if you feel so) but next week we gotta' do Hogan movies. Pure so bad it's good nonsense. The chat needs to be tortured by Mr. Nanny just like how I was as a child.
