Requesting whoever made it send it to the flock of asshole teens who sat on their phones throughout the entire showing of the last jedi I went to last week.

A phone forced to mine crypto currency until it explodes brings us one step closer to the dystopian cyber punk future.

This is amazingly cyberfuture.

And also wtf wouldn't a phone suck at it to the point that after infecting the world some jerk is going to make a whopping ten bucks in bitcoin?

They just don’t make viruses like they used too:

I was "lucky" enough to see about 2-3 of these back in '98 or so, and where I worked had a whole room full of fried motherboards. We got them working again by prying BIOS chips off the dead boards and trying them one by one. They had to be nearly exactly identical, but were often labeled rather obscurely. We'd actually been anticipating the payload date so when three computers all died on that day in the same way, we knew we had it. Fun stuff.

Luckily, most BIOSes were immune to this, or it could have been much uglier.

I think the kid who wrote that is reputed to have gotten a job with the Chinese government afterwards.

Anyone who gets a virus on their phone is an exceptional individual.

My dad came down with a bad case of ransomware on his phone about a year ago. He came to me for help, while making it explicitly clear that it just happened completely out of the blue and that he truly and 100% honestly wasn't browsing porn when it happened.
