In Requiem for a Dream, one of the most famous scenes is of the female lead and an unnamed other girl going "ass to ass" with a double-ended dildo in front of a crowd of men in a sleazy strip club for heroin money. While the scene is very sexual, it isn't even remotely sexy. Everything is grimey, dirty, the two girls look horrified and miserable, the men are acting feral, aggressive and totally uncaring, one guy shoves a wad of cash in the girl's mouth. What you don't see in the scene is extended closeups of their ass and tits, sexy glamour shots or erotic moaning. It isn't filmed like a porn scene. That's why it works. Compare that to Cuties, which makes everything look pretty and zooms in on the little girls' asses every five seconds and treats the material as more funny/quirky than horrifying, and you see the problem.

I never seem to get a chance to boycott shit for moral reasons. I cancelled Netflix for just being absolute garbage shit months before this. Some day I'd like to boycott something just to feel moral or some shit, but so far, I just haven't had the chance. Because anything I'd have wanted to boycott, I'd already just not bought it because it was shitty in the first place.

Also, yeah, I'd cancelled Netflix for financial reasons as well before Cuties was released. Canceling Dark Crystal was the nail in the coffin for me not coming back.

If by some miracle they finally release Bone I'll probably pirate it to be honest.
 
The thing that disturbs me is that Netflix apparently thought Cuties was going to be a huge hit and massive financial gain for the service and were totally blindsided by the backlash.

What the fuck kind of bubble are these people living in? Maybe Q is right about the entertainment industry.

Roman Polanski and Herbert von Karajan. Other than those two, I concur.
 
I saw a local movie critic video yesterday and he's by far the most objective opinion.
He talked about:
  • The way the movie sold. In USA they used only the last part of the movie as the main poster. What were they're thinking?
  • The real pedophile thing. It's real; near more than 60% of the movie is the camera focusing on underage girl's asses. Fucking disgusting if this motherfucking piece of shit gonna release in cinemas.
  • The plot is a fucking mess. It's about a girl having a non-sense "dream" when the same argument is fucking destroyed by every shit she does. The subplot is more interesting, the protagonist's family shows the true HALAL, no doubt. The ending of the movie is one of the best shits i ever seen, and searching about a reason in that is pointless.
  • I saw comments months ago about a bizarre scene with the protagonist taking a photo in her vagina. The real reason is non-existence. Oh yeah, it's all coming together
  • This... "movie" won a prize by best direction. At least we're know about the co-funder being pedophile.
  • Another local movie critic made a video months ago. He's literally said: "I don't see any pedophilia in this movie". The second point i wrote explains that. Fuck that piece of shit.
This is the best example of trying too hard to make polemic. If your product is utterly shit only to create that; isn't worth it.
