Netflix House to open at King of Prussia Mall, Galleria Dallas on these dates...

Netflix House at King of Prussia Mall will open on Nov. 12.
The countdown is on for the unveiling of Netflix’s first immersive entertainment/retail concept.

Netflix House will open at King of Prussia Mall in the Philadelphia suburb of King of Prussia on Nov. 12, and at Galleria Dallas on Dec. 11. A third location, in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip at BLVD Las Vegas, will open in 2027.

Spanning more than 100,000 sq. ft., Netflix House is billed as a “first-of-its-kind,” permanent year-round home for fans that brings some of the streaming channel’s most popular shows and movies to life through immersive story-driven experiences. The King of Prussia and Dallas locations will include Netflix Bites, a casual restaurant with food and craft cocktails playing on popular Netflix stories and characters.

In addition, the two venues will house a store featuring exclusive merchandise that will be updated regularly.

Netflix House will be free to enter and explore. Once inside, patrons can also purchase tickets for different experiences and immerse themselves in the worlds of their favorite stories. Prices will vary depending on the experience.

Some of the Netflix House experiences will differ by location. The Philadelphia House, for example, will feature large-scale experiences based on One Piece: Quest for the Devil Fruit and Wednesday: Eve of the Outcasts. The Dallas venue will feature Stranger Things: Escape the Dark and Squid Game: Survive the Trials.

Also, Netflix House in King of Prussia will include nine holes of mini-golf, with each hole themed to Netflix characters and shows. Netflix House in Dallas will offer a game room packed with physical challenges, immersive story rooms, and retro-style games based on popular shows. (For more details on the two venues, click here.)

"Finally, a place where the Netflix story you can’t get enough of becomes something real that you can play, shop, and taste,” said Marian Lee, Netflix’s chief marketing officer. “This is fandom coming to life, where you can actually step inside the worlds you’ve been watching and loving for years. With fresh experiences dropping regularly, there's always a new reason to come back.”

Well at least it's a creative way to fill old department store space...

The big news here is that a mall is still open in America

I think the King of Prussia Mall is still pretty popular. Probably more so than Neshaminy and Oxford Valley. I don't think I've ever been there. It says there are 400 stores. Wish I could check them out but it would take me an hour and a half by bus. Yeah. Not with those SEPTA service cuts.

Anyway, this is just a scheme to milk more money out of people too dumb to just pirate everything. But with One Piece and Wednesday attractions it's gonna be filled with smelly weebs and fake goth girls. Just another reason to avoid it like the plague.

Before I moved, South Coast Plaza is still pretty popular though they are trending towards luxury throughout the mall. I went to the Rain Forest Café there once when I went to buy a knife I wanted. Both stores including a Del Taco are now gone replaced with luxury boutiques.

This is a like a throwback to the 1990s. It makes almost no sense. And if you wanted to open something like this, it would be better to do so within existing theme parks rather than shopping malls. And if you were going to do malls, you probably start at something like Mall of America in Minneapolis.

The Galleria in Dallas just doesn't fit this at all. Wrong people. Wrong place.

And what is the purpose of this? Their brand is almost universally known. Trying to increase awareness for Squid Games or Stranger things makes little sense. One piece is too niche anime for malls and they are doing major advertisements for Wednesday in all kinds of different advertising platforms.

Hey at least the leftists there must love you being a bvs cvck, tbh it sounds literally like netflix is just opening a movie theater with extra steps so ur probably not missing out on much.

The "Mills malls" were known for gimmicky tenants like this in their heyday. There was Wannado City, an indoor theme park for kids to do "grown-up" jobs in Florida (or you can sit and watch the full 75-minute Defunctland documentary) and even now there's Kidzania in Dallas, the Mexican concept that Wannado City was born out of. There was American Wilderness Experience in Ontario Mills in California (link to article).

Besides, if they can make malls what they were in the 1990s that would be amazing and you couldn't convince me otherwise.

A perfect touch of 90s mall nostalgia would be an option to film yourself as if you were in one of their shows, just like those mall kiosks where you could star in your own music video.

Giving zoomers a reason to go to malls is probably some kind of Stranger Things spin off

Oh, for a second I thought there is going to be a Netflix remake of Dr. House.

I don’t think you boomers, Gen Xers, or overly online zoomers understand malls aren’t dead, but the era of every town having a mall and small malls is over.

Since the internet what used to be a normal amount of locations became an over saturation and lots of smaller malls or big malls in crappy areas ended up closing down, most cities especially in nicer or more populous areas have at least 1-2 big malls that are still extremely active.

The mall in Jersey City is a big one I went to literally just last weekend when I was out of town. That one is packed all the time.

What next? Amazon making an amusement park?

Why not, at this point, it seems like a staple of dystopian media are mega corporations or entities making these sort of things as a way to establish dominance and influence over others.

Dystopian media is clearly their guide book so why the fuck not?

Netflix if overrated, when you found out how to get stuff for free. :epik:
