QUICK CHECKLIST TO MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW THE BASICS

  1. Mention a payrate (preferably in $, i.e. $50)
  2. Make sure its at or above $0.07 per word for basic/entry level work. For general work its $0.12 per word. For advanced/niche work its $0.17+ per word.
  3. Use the proper flair.
  4. Exceed 350 characters in your post
  5. Have at least some karma and age on your account (Hiring/META posts exempted)
  6. For writers, make sure you LINK an online portfolio on your Hire Me post, if you dont have one, use the weekly stickied Writers thread. You can use free services like Journo Portfolio, Wordpress, Contently.net, Clippings.me, Pressfolios etc. Just note that we are not associated with any of them, and you use them at your own volition.

I have been using readability and SEO tools since at least 2014. I also edit other writers' work to ensure compliance with both readability and SEO.

Good for you. Personally, I ditched readability tools because they measured arbitrary factors like word length and sentence length. I think what actually matters is how much readers like reading your piece. Sometimes I need to sacrifice readability for SEO at the client's request, otherwise it's usually my topmost priority.
