It always stuns me how this form maintains a user base when it seems like the mods just...ban people at the drop of a hat, and for the most trivial shit too.

Also, doesn't it take a while for your account to get approved before you can post? I just can't see how a form like that ma having significant traffic when it's so hard to get into and so easy to get kicked out off. I'm surprised ResetERA

It really does surprise me that this site manages to maintain a userbase considering how long the approval process to get in is and how incredibly easy it is to get banned, you'd think they'd be a ghost town by now.

It really is millenarianism. They believe muh warming is the apocalypse but instead of God and Christ promising salvation they're all doomed anyway. It's an insanely nihilistic and aggressive ideology where (unlike the millennium) you feel self-justified to stop what you're told is an inevitable thing by destroying the things and people bringing it about.

And these can by any things or any people the elites want.

In reality, the Earth is in the period of the lowest CO2 it's ever been in throughout almost all of geologic history. We're in an era where normal plantlife is actually suffering because it evolved to live in an environment with 2x-4x more CO2 in it. Only some crops like maize and a few other New World species have a photosynthetic method optimized for the current ppm of CO2.

When I was a kid in the 90s the thing that was going to doom the future was the hole in the ozone layer, which of course out to be a big nothing burger.

But you can see how global warming could be used to justify white genocide (as if these people needed any more justification), "whites have wrecked the planet and doomed us all, so they at least deserve to die first"

It's actually still there and just as big as ever, it just fluctuates in size seasonally due to wind patterns in the upper atmosphere. CFCs probably had no impact on it at all. So it's probably natural and no big deal long-term (except for Aussies, since the hole is over part of Australia).

What are people's thoughts on NeoGaf nowadays? It's... interesting to visit. Feels like a time warp to the late 2010s where grown adults still think console warring is a productive use of time.

The forum feels oddly sane now. Resetera and the ban on political sperging has been the best thing to ever happen to it.

NeoGAF always looks quite a bit more sane in comparison to Resetera--to the point where it frequently looks like a reasonable place to hang out. However, EviLore keeps proving himself to be a thin-skinned censorious band-wagoner that can't be trusted. So no matter how much of a "Game Forum" it actually looks like right now, remember that the same person is running it. He'd run the forum into the ground again if the right political wedge issue arose and he thought it would raise his social profile.
