Any tranny who is reading cyberpunk and sees characters who transition to fully functional cross-gender bodies and are finally happy.... is not reading cyberpunk. Cyberpunk characters fall into one of three categories:

1.) Penniless and completely miserable
2.)Richer than fucking god and completely miserable
3.)Rolling so hard on glimmerstims they don't know whats real anymore

In a proper cyberpunk setting, there are good things that can happen. You can earn your happy ending, but you've gotta fight for it, will need to fight to keep it, and at the end of the day, the world still essentially sucks. The setting is perfect for big questions like what the measure of a man is, and if there is more to us than simply what we would conventionally define as human. But all that's backdrop and with a good writer at the helm anything is possible.

The thing is, with the explosion of SJWs in sci-fi, there's now an ardent militia of fucking terrible writers who would be laughed off Wattpad out there.

Here's a quandary. If you're rolling so hard on glimmerstims that you believe you are a fully functional cross-gender whatever and are finally happy, is that not the cyberpunk world one really wants?
