He's right though. I don't know how much I would have heard about the Last Night if not for their puritanical reeeing, but now I intend to buy it because it looks fascinating. So resetera generated at least one customer for the creator they made into a bogeyman.

I don't think its the same though. His publisher bent over and so did he. The game may very have been changed and censored to appease the sjw mob.

With Kingdom Come its obvious that he changed nothing to appease the screechers.

How does anyone justify even posting there? Does that site even have any information about any games at all? I just don't know because I only see the rampant virtue signalling. If that were the only site you regularly read, you'd probably come out the other side even more misnformed than before.

They apologized and said he won't be naughty evil shitlord anymore because he learned his lesson and aren't now bothered by Soret still making fun of progs and tacked in diversity on his Twitter (recently he berated some Assassin's Creed Origins diversity inclusions)? They worked closely with him, familiarised with his writing for the game for years, had him as colleague since inception of project... and then they say they're surprised he was in GamerGate and shit? I feel like this is just some PR damage control and nobody was genuinely reprimanded, nor was anything changed.

I think he was warned, but the game otherwise was left as it is. Otherwise they would probably have assigned some dangerhair to be the spokesperson to mollify the most outward of critics.

Pretty much. afaik he put out a public apology and half the comments on one article about it were people shitting all over him, not giving him a chance to 'change', saying he's a darn dirty evil gamergator no matter what. So after that he kinda just went silent, which imo is just him giving up trying to appease them and continuing with his game while largely ignoring the hate.

That's all he can really do. I dislike how people can be "marked" like this and they can never change unless they recant and fully join the cult.

He didn't really go silent, neither on game development nor on the soyed up dyehairs. And those tweets of his, while don't generate outrage from usual suspects, get quite a lot of retweets and interest sometimes.
 
ResetEra will hate him regardless since Soret was overjoyed to see GAF go down and openly mocked the site. A lot of those mods will hold that grudge and just thinly cover it over with the Gamergate stuff.
