Except they've been ninjas in name only since half way through Shippuden. They're basically just more boring DBZ characters at this point.
Yeah, the series abandoned its fight style by the end in order to become diet DBZ. Take HxH for example: Uvogin is the (first) DBZ character analogue and he gets crushed in his second fight because he technically weaker opponent minimaxed his ability to be powerful on him and his group in exchange for it being useless on everyone else. By making the right actions, a beginner can overcome a demigod. Naruto has DBZ-lite as its fight identity.

What? You mean you don't like Boruto's Uzuhiko that just makes you...fall down and lose balance I guess? But it's so coooool...He uses the rotation of the planet.......It boosts him from like.....city level to planetary.....He can totally destroy a planet guys.....Boruto most op protag ever....look at all his rizzle.....

Fuck I hate Boruto fans. They're all subhuman brown shitstains with double digit IQs.
Personally, I would be fine with Uzuhiko if it was a genjutsu-Rasengan-Gentle Fist hybrid instead of a vague "Earth Rotation" pseudo-science.

Although this would not work on high level ninjas right? Specially ones that have armor (e.g: Gaara) or can disable the gun/projectiles with ease (e.g: Kisame summoning waves and flooding the place, since it might affect the triggering/gunpowder).

Also, you have to think that chakra is really powerful right? Like Sakura punching several dozens of metric tons of pure stone with her fist. That impact is greater than a bullet, and so the chakra could be used defensively against them, yet bullets would be harder to engulf in your own chakra in order to penetrate that armour, because of the speed. But with a kunai, you can, and therefore cause damage to that chakra armour, where bullets wouldn't.

But of course that would be for elite fighting, not for kids being thrown into the forest fending off leeches & snakes.
I think that Chakra being a thing caused a difference in what a weapon is. Launching fire means humans have a long range attack and thus the idea for bows and guns did not develop beyond a certain point. They had bows before Chakra was a thing but after it was, warfare shifted into using that and firearms were not created. Having so obviously modern stuff such as computers in such a short time (not even the really big monitor desktops) is too much for the worldbuilding.

Fucking ONE PIECE has guns in literally every arc, even the one featuring LITERAL FUCKING SAMURAI AND NINJA, and the guns not only didn't break the setting, they helped it feel more realistic! On that not, HOW THE FUCK DID ONE PIECE HANDLE FUCKING SAMURAI BETTER THAN THE LITERAL SERIES IN WHICH SAMURAI ARE SUPPOSED TO BE EQUAL TO NINJA

Boruto dropped early guys. This time it's Chapter 24.

Cover art for this issue is Kawaki with his new staff. It's a huge improvement over last week's. I still think he's tracing fashion models, but at least featuring his new staff is a good idea and makes it feel more like a manga and less like a fashion magazine. That being said, does he blonde roots? Why does he have blonde roots? Is his hair naturally blonde? Was it always that way? Or is the color scheme for the manga covers non-canon? I guess we'll see when the anime comes out.

We open with a flashback to Kawaki and Boruto, and great we're opening a can of worms right one page 1. Look, I'm fine with Boruto going out of his way to ask for Kawaki's help. That's fine, but how on earth does Koji not foresee this happening?!? How? Why? Why should we trust his power at all if it's this inconsistent?! Last chapter I thought Boruto contacted Kawaki via that little telepathy thing they can do. However, this confirms that wasn't the case. So, Boruto can just casually walk up to anyone and ask for their help and bam, futures changed? Day is saved? Everyone gets a happy ending?! FOR FUCKS SAKE THEN WHY BOTHER HAVING KASHIN KOJI AROUND AT ALL!!!! If his power is this useless, why bother making any of these plans?! Why is Koji so anal about following through with his plans exactly if they're this easy to alter? FFS this is stupid. Anyway....Boruto asks for his help, gives him a metal emblem so everyone can escape Jura together. He just wants Kawaki to fight with him so he can concentrate enough to get a lock on his emblem to teleport away. I love how at the end of the flashback Kawaki in the present day continues the dialogue from the flashback, even though it's days apart so he's just randomly saying "So you want me to buy you time, eh?" It's hilarious. I'm sure this works better in Japanese, but in English it's hilariously awkward.

Kawaki begins fighting Jura and...I'm not going to lie I have trouble following some of this. He makes Jigens blocks appear but I'm not really quite sure what he did to make them appear. It's not entirely clear. Anyway they keep fighting, Boruto slips away. The scenes where Kawaki is using his staff are nice and fluid, and make combat easier to follow. The scenes where Kawaki is using his Karma abilities, I don't know what the fuck is going on. He just glances at Jura here and there and somehow that seems like it's hurting him? It's not a well choreographed scene. Something that's becoming an apparent weakness of Ikemoto is when someone has to use their abilities, they're not represented well. The effects are so small and negligent, it's impossible to tell what's exactly going on. Uzuhiko is a perfect example. It's just a bunch of energy streams around Boruto. Kawaki's eye thing here. It's all just very difficult to follow. People criticize Kishimoto for big explosions but Ikemoto has the opposite problem. His explosions are so tame it's hard to really follow if they're even doing anything at all.

Boruto's karma starts acting up and he's trying to calm it down. Amado and Sumire are watching through Kawaki's eyes. (I wonder how he goes to the bathroom....) Jura stops the fighting for a moment to start positing about love again. He sees everyone getting remarkable power ups in the face of trouble and wonders if it's because of love. He asks Kawaki what he thinks. Kawaki blasts him but it has no effect. Jura pieces together there Naruto is still alive. He threatens to devour Naruto, angering Kawaki. Boruto has a lock on his symbol though and they're ready to go. Kawaki tells Jura that he's going to die by his hand. Kawaki and Boruto go to leave and Jura...just lets them. Before going though, Kawaki gives Jura the middle finger which will be memed to death by this time tomorrow.

They teleport away and Kawaki falls shoe first on Konohamaru's face. Respectful. Nice. They still have the Thorn bulbs and they're heading back to Konoha. We cut to Koji and Eida. Kashin Koji malds that this was too dangerous a stunt. FUCK YOU KASHIN KOJI. This is all your damn fault in the fucking first place!!!! You're going to chastise Boruto for having a back up plan because yours was half baked?! You were going to sacrifice his friends and teacher in a literal gamble when all Boruto did was ask for some fucking help. No, FUCK YOU. You're a shitty character. A shitty mentor. A shitty friend. A shitty fortune teller. And quickly becoming the god damn shittiest part of this fucking manga!!!!

Oh but we can't have that. We end the manga with Jura telling Hidari how he was excited about getting complimented by Kawaki. Hidari responds saying that he had a new word he learned from Jura's books that's appropriate for right now. "Totally Ick." Sasuke's fucking tree body is giving Jura the ICK.

This is one of the worst chapters yet. I said before that somehow Ikemoto bungles up the end of his arcs with stupid shit and this is no God damn exception.

This manga fucking sucks.

I think he just dyes the bottom half.

I can understand Koji being anal BECAUSE OF THE FUTURE CHANGING! The good future is fragile and can be missed. However, he should not have been playing cryptic mentor with his student either. Trust should have been their first goal.

Kawaki begins fighting Jura and...I'm not going to lie I have trouble following some of this. He makes Jigens blocks appear but I'm not really quite sure what he did to make them appear. The new abilities are not very interesting to me. The Otsutsuki have their patented "displays of immense power" and everyone else either matches them or still operates on street level and die.

Boruto's karma starts acting up and he's trying to calm it down. Amado and Sumire are watching through Kawaki's eyes. (I wonder how he goes to the bathroom....) Kawaki is a liability. Just tell him that absorbing Naruto does not give him what he wants and get on with it.

The comedy here does not work. No funny faces, lines or circumstances. Also, didn't a girl just die? Is this really appropriate?

Oh but we can't have that. We end the manga with Jura telling Hidari how he was excited about getting complimented by Kawaki. Hidari responds saying that he had a new word he learned from Jura's books that's appropriate for right now. "Totally Ick." Sasuke's fucking tree body is giving Jura the ICK.
That ruined whatever good will remain for this chapter.

Every arc ended with an anti-climax.

Dude I fucking hated this chapter. Any goodwill I had towards Boruto basically died here. I hate this shit. I hate Kashin Koji. I hate Ikemoto. I hate this manga. I hate that this manga has fans. I hate all the brown and black niggers that suck Boruto's dick. I hate everything about this chapter. Kashin Koji and the Ten Directions is absolutely insufferable. It's worse than Omnipotence ever was. At least Omnipotence by the end had very clear effects of what it can and can't do after five recons. The Ten Directions? What the fuck is this bullshit? Kashin Koji's future sight isn't worth dick. Boruto can change his futures by casually asking anyone for help. There's no point in it whatsoever. It's one thing if Koji is going to be useless. It's another thing if he's going to chastise Boruto because he's useless.

What "time period" does the series take place in? Initially I was gonna say medieval Japan, but T.Vs, radios, headphones and even game consoles are shown sometimes. From the looks of it, the most fitting label I can put on it is 90s-2000s Japan with samurai-era laws and aesthetics.
Post Apocalyptic, which explains the Schitzo Tech.

Remember the Bullshit Alien Tree drains life out of the planet so at some point That Tree caused a worldwide problem.

Has Ikemoto found a trait in which he was better than his teacher? I feel like he knew he was the heir to the throne and started resting on his laurels. He might have let his talent rot and stagnate.

There's not a single thing Ikemoto has done better than Kishimoto. Ikemoto is a garbage tier mangaka in every step of the word. Characters are off model constantly, over designed causing heavy blacks and consistently cloaked and covered outfits. The moves are designed like shit, so they have no sense of impact. The fighting is borderline unfollowable at times. The story is terrible. There's the overuse of speed lines. There's the sexualizing children accusations he's never beating. He got booted off his own manga and forced to work with Kishimoto again.

Heck half of this nonsense is also done by Kishimoto too. His writing in Samurai 8 was abysmal and it's showing here again too. Kashin Koji was terrible idea that never should've been done. Forget the Jiraiya connection. Kishimoto can't write overarching story wide concepts. He simply doesn't care about them anymore. He'll set rules for his story that he constantly breaks for nonsensical reasons. Him not adhering to his own rules makes his mangas absolutely insufferable. I'm convinced the OG Naruto is entirely lightning in a bottle and this nigga never deserved any of the success he got.

However, I think what pisses me off the most are the fans. The fans who openly defend Boruto are the sub-70 IQ niggers and pajeets who coom themselves over power levels and power scaling. They unironically believe Uzuhiko allows Boruto to blow up a planet even though all it does is make some enemies fall down. They unironically believe the manga is actually really good. They don't care how many times in a 20 issue manga, that Kishi just threw the story out the window to do something else. They fall for every new power up like it's a gods gift, and eat this shit wholesale. It's the same sub IQ niggers and pajeets who love I Was Reincarnated As a Slime #80 and think anything that has Kishimoto's name on it is obviously gold. If Ikemoto wasn't attached to Kishi, he would've been fired. If Kishimoto wasn't stuck doing Boruto, his next manga would've ended his career for bombing. Kishimoto can't write for shit. Ikemoto can't draw for shit. Yet Jump has Ikemoto drawing and Kishimoto writing for whatever ungodly reason. It bothers me because it takes up a slot just because of nepotism for a talentless hack when there's other genuinely good manga out there that don't get the love or attention Boruto gets and there's piles of mangas waiting for approval that are better than this fucking drivel that we could be getting.

I have never really read or watched Boruto beyond some Youtube clips, but I can relate to your anger since I feel the same way about South Park.

I once read a theory that the only reason Naruto Part 1 was so good was because
1) Kishi was copying a lot of concepts from HxH
2) His editors kept him on a tight leash

I have a feeling that once Naruto became a success and Kishi started to have enough agency to ignore his editors, that's when the writing started to go to shit. The quality of the writing between Part 1 and the end of Shippuuden is like night and day.

I would honestly just say to ignore everything that comes after the Pain Arc.

I do not mind the outfits on the kids as they are targeted towards readers of the same age range. The fact that 30 yo men like us read it too should not affect things. A work being targeted to hormonal teenage boys can have teenage girls as fanservice. The target demo is Timothy the middle schooler and not Jeff the trucker. Also, which manga was he booted off?

Prophecies should be limited in application in order to work. Either the prophet has no control over when, where, what and/or how they get prophecies (classic prophecy), the prophecies are set in stone but you can alter anything not prophesized (Odin's Law of Prophecy), the prophecy is a vague warning meant as an advice to avoid a dark path or you are limited to combat clairvoyance where you can predict things in the immediate future alone. These are the 4 ways one can write prophecies in a story without things getting weird. What is being done here is different. We are having an everchanging future style of prophecy where they are acting like it is set in stone instead. We are told one thing but shown another.

However, I think what pisses me off the most are the fans. The fans who openly defend Boruto are the sub-70 IQ niggers and pajeets who coom themselves over power levels and power scaling. How much influence does Kishi have over Boruto? Did you not say several pages back that Ike has been doing the helming for a while now?

1) Kishi was copying a lot of concepts from HxH
2) His editors kept him on a tight leash
1) Probably not. HxH was not what we now know it to be. Naruto is Harry Potter with ninjas.
2) Yes, that is basically confirmed.

I have never really read or watched Boruto beyond some Youtube clips, but I can relate to your anger since I feel the same way about South Park.
The anime is vastly different than the manga. I'd say the filler actually made the anime better in Boruto's case. They got to flesh out things the manga couldn't either due to time or other restrictions and fix some of the manga's stupidity. The problem is by this point in the story, the manga is really spinning it's wheels trying to justify its own existence. The past 3 mini-arcs have basically been: a Divine Tree attacks, then someone gets an absolutely absurd power up, and then the Divine Tree goes away. The actual interesting meat of the comic isn't really given a chance to be focused on. They abandon ideas before they ever get a chance to get fleshed out.

Remember how Boruto ends with Code having his ultimate power unlocked and becoming not a joke? Yeah he hasn't been seen in 20 chapters. He's been gone ever since he got foot planted in the face by Boruto. Its been over a year since his appearance. By the end of this year, it will be 2. Omnipotence virtually went away after the first few issues too. Heck, Himawari has Kurama reborn inside of her and nobody has talked with her about it ever since. We never followed through with that. He's just back now and we haven't seen him since. I think that's what's so frustrating. There are good ideas and potential story to tell but instead of bottle showing it, we're shuffled off from action set piece to set piece.

The fandom loves to pretend that Shibai is this Omnipotent being and could wipe out any other anime's universe. Except Shibai isn't even a character at this point. He's a Godlike being who abandoned his body to become a space ghost and Amado made robots from the Shibai cells he found. In reality they're just Hashirama Cells all over again, and this is just a rip off of the Soul King from Bleach but significantly dumber. He isn't a character, hasn't been seen, and his influence has largely been inconsequential to the story.

More like the next adaptation is going to be another slog fest with how convoluted the plot has become. The story is practically unsustainable.

Yeah, the series abandoned its fight style by the end in order to become diet DBZ.
Naruto was always a faggy DBZ. Even in color scheme (Naruto and Sasuke) and power applications. The second I saw Naruto use the Rasengan, I knew it was a lame Kamehameha. Even his Rasenshuriken was the Kienzan/Destructo Disk, the Kyuubi Chakra the Kaiohken.

I saw the writing on the wall.

I honestly believe that Boruto should have been a late-Part-1-Naruto to early-Shippuden level of power story with a more episodic storyline like a Power Rangers season (mostly episodic but with character arcs and stuff being carried over). You know, re-introduce the world, everyone's descendants and see the (relative) peace Naruto fought for? The Otsutsuki add little, imo. Like, fine, deal with them but the main draw should be Boruto fighting people his own weight.

Code is the guy who was Gero-ed a few chapters ago by his infinitely stronger subordinates. Stupid to hype him up only to have him be crushed like that. As for Omnipotence, they really should have had it go away slowly and create drama that way. The less I say about Himawari, the better. I am so disappointed in how she was handled.

The Soul King reference is a bit of a stretch for me. I can just see it as a re-tread of Hashirama cells.

Naruto was always a faggy DBZ.
I disagree. It was a battle Shonen and was partly inspired by DBZ but that is about it. Everything in SJ fit that description back then.

Even in color scheme (Naruto and Sasuke) and power applications.
That is a reference/homage and an inspiration respectively. No biggie.

The second I saw Naruto use the Rasengan, I knew it was a lame Kamehameha.
Rasengan has enough differences in use and application to not be a rip-off.

Even his Rasenshuriken was the Kienzan/Destructo Disk,
True but the Kienzan was never used as extensively as Rasenshuriken.

the Kyuubi Chakra the Kaiohken.
Again, homage.

I saw the writing on the wall.
Look, there were many homages and references but I would like to point out the Naruto did not become a rip-off just because there was homage/inspiration/references to DBZ. It became a rip-off when it abandon its fight language for that of DBZ. No more finding creative ways to use things such as shadows, working with summons, genjutsu was only used as torture, only a few characters matter, energy blasts are the only jutsu that matter etc etc. OG Naruto had more things going on. The characters went from wizards with martial arts to DBZ characters.
