Tekking finally acknowledges that Naruto makes no sense, Kishimoto writes by the seat of his pants with little planning and the fact that the story got a lot worse due to retcons ruining the narrative and the continuity.

LMAO! This is such a shit show now, if it hasn't been already.Remind me which one of you predicted the prediction ability.
It was you that predicted it, now that I checked.Since I started writing this response, I decided to go back and re-read earlier chapters. The answer being built up to is that somehow Boruto and Kashin Koji knew all along that Code messing with the Divine Tree would make the Tree People. How they knew it could do this is beyond me. The translation I read seems a bit clearer, and it seems to me like they're heavily hinting at Kashin Koji somehow seeing the future. Him and Boruto have working together ever since Sasuke died to prevent that future. There's a huge allusion to some kind of future-seeing or time traveling being hinted at. Which I can't imagine won't make a dozen plot holes once it finally gets explored.
Fuck it. Might as well do this with alcohol. Ch 13 incoming shortly.New chapter's out: https://ww1.mangafreak.me/Read1_Boruto_Two_Blue_Vortex_13
The cope will be such a thing to behold. All of the members of Kara were infused with cells from Shibai Otsutsuki...
I do not mind the fact that it is film reels. I just do not think the ability will be used in an interesting way. Also, classic villain moment of letting the hero live for no reason. The chapter opens with a cover spread, this time with a purple motif. Purple or red? Which do you like better? I have my opinions but the purple is neat. The chapter opens with Bug saying to Jura Mashiri has returned and dug up info. Sounds like they're going to use the Soul thorn to revive Sasuke and we'll get a push from last time. Still a bullshit turn of events. This could've been interesting but turning him into a joke villain that died in the first encounter pretty much kills all tension.
Jura flees letting Boruto live. We get a flashback now of Boruto encountering a frog from Kashin Koji. Turns out he has remote control frogs. Not an actual summon in this case. Nifty. Kashin Koji recaps his time in Boruto and on his deathbed he saw visions of the future. Why? Who knows. How? Who knows. It's kind of hilarious how these visions appear as literal film reels to him. Then he drops the big bombshell that made me roll my eyes....All of the members of Kara were infused with cells from Shibai Otsutsuki...
The Almighty was way stronger as it allowed Yhwach to choose which future became reality. Honestly, my problem is that they are doing what they did with Sasuke (try to redeem the nearly unredeemable). Only this time, they use two significantly less likable and sympathetic characters. I do like the fact that they cheat by getting new jutsu from the future (even if I think Uzuhiko is stupid).Koji goes on to explain how the goal of infusion was to inherit the Divine Power of Shibai. Damon got Reflect, Eida got her eyes, and Code got Claw Marks, and Koji...awakened the Ten Directions. The power to see all possible futures. Did....they just rip off Ywach? Did Shibai just copy Ywach's power? The way he explains the branching futures is almost exactly the same. Did Ike and Kishi just blatantly rip off Bleach? Holy fuck the Ten Directions is just the Almighty. He explains alternate futures where Boruto and Naruto die and the planet is destroyed. If only we were so lucky. Hilariously, Kawaki gets killed by Code. That faggot isn't even in this chapter and he still gets bitch slapped. Fucking KEK. They have to be aware of what they're doing by now.
However, Koji had a good idea. Let's cheat and teach Boruto all the techniques he learns in the future to make a new future. He warns him of the Divine Trees manifesting and that Jura will kill Boruto. Which...we kind of just saw so Future Averted? Maybe? We're ramping up tension so probably not. Boruto says he will never kill Kawaki and reuniting his family is his goal. Including knocking sense into the edgelord. They form an alliance and the flashback ends.
Imo, if you are going to get regenerating villains, strong healing can balance things out (Dragonball had Cell and Buu but it also had Dende, Shenron and Senzu Beans). Also, the powers of the Divine Trees makes sense as they are plants. They can grow back. No, my problem is that they are all just creations of Code. No unique backstory and motivations. No abilities they honed, no hobbies or life outside of being the bad guys. Can you imagine if the Akatsuki where as boring as them? Or any of the villain groups in Bleach or One Piece? We cut back to the present and Boruto is waking up. Oh, neat. Himawari just instantly heals everyone. Wonderful. Just kill all the stakes, why not? Himawari goes to heal Boruto but Kawaki and Konohamaru cuff him before the toad runs off. We cut to Jura and the others reviving Sasuke and a new Divine Tree is being born from his Soul Thorn. Somehow.....
I hope he dies saving Boruto. That would be a good redemption (provided it is done right).I'm speechless guys. What a chapter. This was as bad as it gets. Kishi and Ike truly admitted defeat. We got time travel, future sight, old mcguffin bullshit all in one chapter. What a disaster...Although, Kawaki being killed by Code in virtually every timeline will never not be funny.
The guy has a pretty poor track record of doing this.it is done right
I'm neutral to it. Very much feels like anime-bait to be used in an opening or ending for when the Boruto anime gets here.I do not mind the fact that it is film reels. I just do not think the ability will be used in an interesting way. Also, classic villain moment of letting the hero live for no reason.
Kawaki's turn to evil really just comes out of left field without any rhyme or reason. Sure he wants all of the Otsutsuki gone, but his turn-face is pretty random. The Almighty was way stronger as it allowed Yhwach to choose which future became reality. TBF some of the Akatsuki were as boring as them. Zetsu, Kakuzu, heck even Kisame to some degree were all pretty boring. Hidan is more famous for killing Asuma rather than anything else or his half-baked personality. He's gone from the story just as soon as he enters it. The rest are a mixed bag. The most interesting being Sasori, Pain, and Itachi. Deidara is okay but his presence in the story is fairly active. Konan could've been interesting. Her backstory is there but she doesn't really get to do anything of consequence. Can you imagine if the Akatsuki where as boring as them? Or any of the villain groups in Bleach or One Piece?
And it makes him pretty unsympathetic too. Sasuke was a little kid with understandable anger and insecurities. Kawaki is an asshole who stole everything from a person he calls brother like a less charismatic Dio Brando. Not to mention that with how things are, Boruto has few allies/supporting cast. That kid cannot carry a show by himself.Kawaki's turn to evil really just comes out of left field without any rhyme or reason. At least the Akatsuki could be played off each other. They had unique backstories that gave the different perspectives on things, they did not always get along but had some respect for one another 's skills and they were fun to watch. I can bite my tongue on the Trees because they haven't been around long enough. I mean, we're 13 chapters in, I'm willing to give them a chance. Jura is at least a little bit of fun. He likes books, knowledge, and isn't really into killing people unless he believes it absolutely necessary to do so. We haven't seen much from the rest but Sasuke seems very curious about his own existence, which again, COULD be interesting but just wasting him in his encounter with Sarada is honestly a terrible move. And it makes him pretty unsympathetic too. Jesus Christ, why so slow, Motos?13 chapters
Their shared backstory does not mean they will share each other 's opinions and personality but it will affect lore. A lot of the Akatsuki informed us about the world with their existense. Kisame showed us more of the Bloody Mist era, Hidan expanded on religion, Kakuzu had the potential to be a living ninja history book due to having seen it all, Pain and Konan showed what happens to the less fortunate villages and the Akatsuki as a whole used to work as mercenaries until they unveiled their real plans (and Hidden Stone Village was their biggest client). That is hard to do with the Divine Trees.I can bite my tongue on the Trees because they haven't been around long enough. I mean, we're 13 chapters in, I'm willing to give them a chance. I am not saying they compare to the Espada. Not dying on that hill for the Espada have a lot of characterisation (both subtle and obvious). My problem with the Akatsuki is that they are missed potential. So much more could have been done with them. The Akatsuki I'm a bit less sympathetic to over time. I compare them with something like Bleach's Espada, and the Akatsuki are night and day and far less fun. Villains like Grimmjow, Nnoitra, and Ulquiorra are all leagues better and more personable compared to any of the Akatsuki members barring Itachi. The best of the Espada all had staying power and we're very active in their segment of the story. I think my big problem with the Akatsuki is none of them do anything of any real long term or even short term consequences other than Itachi, Sasori, and Pain. Sasori setting up the next arc and Itachi and Pain being self explanatory. Otherwise the rest feel like you could've written them out of the story and nothing would be lost barring maybe Hidan and Deidara.
A. It is monthly.Jesus Christ, why so slow, Motos?
I'm still racking my brain over that. This isn't Jojo.A. It is montly.
B. All those poses and stylish clothes are hard to draw.
Tell that to Ikemoto. He says shonen, I see shojo. Even when Bleach had color pages that showcased characters in fashionable clothing and modelesque poses, it still felt targeted at men. Ikemoto might have a calling for somewhat raunchy magical girl action manga. He should do that instead of Boruto.I'm still racking my brain over that. This isn't Jojo.
It's really telling that he seems to be taking a lot of cues from Bleach. Even Ywach's prediction ability, though watered down. There's homages, but this is just straight up compensating now.Tell that to Ikemoto. He says shonen, I see shojo. Like Father, Like Son. The Spiral of Stupidity spins strongBack to asspulling bullshit! This is it folks, the moment Boruto has finally jumped the Bullshit Shark. You can't make this shit up. We're literally going from Hashirama Cells to Shibai Cells.
I do not really think that is the case. Quite hard to pin point the inspirations for the Boruto manga. Aesthetically it resembles Jojo if you swapped Rock Star High Fashion for stuff a rich rapper would wear. Powerwise, it gives me some sort of Yu Yu Hakusho vibes. I get that Ikemoto was groomed to be the successor to the mantle but his limitations, tastes and art style make him unfit for it. He would be better writing a magical girl show as his eccentricities and kinks work better in that genre. It's really telling that he seems to be taking a lot of cues from Bleach.
