Well Google is Apple's competitor in the smartphone market. Weird angle to attack from but...I mean it makes sense.

(Hey, OP, copy-paste the article next time, Variety's a piece of shit of a site to load.)

I actually have AVID, but I haven't opened it up since I graduated years ago because the program literally hates sharing data with other applications. I would always have to close out everything else because otherwise it would throw a tantrum. But even if I had everything closed from the start, it would still act up quite a bit to where it needed to be closed and reopened to even get to the interface and start working, and if anyone upgraded their system, they were this close to being SOL. OS X Lion users were hit harder than the OS X Snow Leopard users because of some shitty upgrade incompatibility keeping projects or even AVID itself from loading correctly. So this is actually fucking hilarious to hear that something so stupidly simple led to the program crashing simultaneously across Hollywood--though I also imagine across the nation.

AVID's a good program regardless once you get down and dirty with it, but it has so many issues that most people would rather go with Final Cut or stick with Premiere Pro/After Effects.

So AVID users disable SIP and if SIP is disabled Google Chrome updater bricks the machine?

What a shitshow...

who writes such code?
