You’re not getting what I’m saying. Even if the estate owned the rights to the Freddy character now, their relationship with WB, and the fact that WB/Newline own the starring the character, they could easily work it out. It’s like WB having licenses from LOTR and GOT, even though they don’t outright own those properties, they just made and distributed the films/shows the characters come from. I’m also sure ATT/WB have some vested percentage of ownership in all of these franchises, even if they don’t own them outright.

I like the idea of a team-focused Smash Bros, so far it seems decent. Roster's kinda basic so far, and i wouldn't really expect anything too out there. Only things to pop out so far are 1.) what the fuck is that dragon thing next to shaggy @0:26 in the OP video? and 2.) They're using the Harley Quinn from that fucking bomb of a movie, but the voice is like Tara Strong is trying to do an impression of the Quinn from the 90s cartoon.

It's an OC. I imagine the story (if there is one) will explain their deal. As for Harley, I think that design's kind of a mashup of various incarnations since to me she looks like the one from the recent cartoon.
 
when I look at it, all I can think about is the O'Jays money song.
 
I am excited for this, feels like a semi-sequel to CN Punch Time Explosion in a way, what with the additions of Adventure Time, Steven Universe, and possible Johnny Bravo and Ben 10 according to leaks.

As the character roster grows, it will likely become more fun as I am expecting tons of WB shill staples in the title. Fully expecting TTG, BeetleJuice, PowerPuff Girls, Mad Max, Austin Powers, Gremlins, etc. in the game. Basically, if it was featured in LEGO Dimensions or Space Jam 2, it is likely to be there.
 
The game is really competing against Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl's lackluster roster.

Bringing back this thread because the private test has happened, and it’s surprisingly really good. The character choices are weird, though. They’re adding Velma in a few days, and other things have been seen in the beta that imply Godzilla and a MK character. A dubious datamine says the rest are Taz and Lebron James, the latter of which is absurdly stupid.

I am not even fucking with any of you, Hulk and Naruto character data was found. However, the deal possibly fell through and the original data was instead slapped onto two generic OC characters, yet they forgot to erase all of it so there’s still a fucking uniquely-modeled SHIELD Quinjet, a Naruto sigil icon, and data for Shadow Clones and a bunch of animation prefixes that start with “Hulk_” in it for anyone with the right string to find. Also, somehow, the Wreck-It-Ralph arcade machine?

As for the more “Warner” characters, they seriously fucked up and managed to hide nothing and now we know what is probably the entire roster at launch.

Newcomers since the original reveal trailer are Velma, Emmet, Raven, Joker, Legolas, Taz, Rick, Gandalf, Gizmo, Morty, Marvin the Martian, Godzilla, Iron Giant, and Lebron James, along with the aforementioned weird expy OCs. An insane roster, and not necessarily in the good way.
