So that must explain why Big Hero 6 quickly abandoned the really interesting concept of underground robotic fighting rings because that'd be too much like anime for them to swallow.

And people give me the stink eye whenever I tell them I really did not like that movie because it was nothing more than a hybrid of Marvel and How to Train Your Dragon but it failed to understand what made HTTYD so popular.
I'm sure you know, but, Big Hero 6 was originally a Marvel series before even the Marvel Mangaverse. It was already capestuff trying to be manga since conception. It's pretty autistic and deepseated in me, but I wouldn't have minded actual research and legitimate interest in actually trying to capture the feel that anime and manga has. Big Hero 6 is just Teen Titans done in a Marvel way.

Back to Mulan, they might as well have gone back to making the original concept of China Doll and releasing it. They never even bothered to read up on Wuxia for this shit.

i thought BH6 was okay, but what I REALLY liked was the 2D art during the credits. It was by the same guy who did the Tangled credits art.

As for Mulan, I’m just waiting for when it comes out that the people making the movie helped cover up the initial outbreak of COVID at this point...

I liked Big Hero 6 okay, but I've literally only seen it once (when it was in theaters several years ago), and I have absolutely no desire to see it again. It was entertaining enough to watch once.

And you're right: Big Hero 6 is nothing more than a lesser How to Train Your Dragon (a film trilogy that I ADORE, btw).

Smh, why would you even put it in the credits?

It's deliberate to de-legitimize complaints about uigur shitshow.

On the other hand, maybe this episode can redpill some lefties and consoomers

If I had a penny every time people would hope to get redpilled even before Matrix came out. Not happening. Left is skilled in mind warping Kung Fu that allows them to both use slave labor and decry its use at the same time.

There is a pretty clear mindset in modern filmmakers, that for all talks about equality, the only people allowed to be important are those that are born special and never need to work for it. It's a massive contradiction that really shows how the people responsible for films see themselves as a different class to the plebs and use the idea of equality as a way to justify why they deserve to be on top.
This seems to be the zeitgeist of the post-Harry Potter generation of media creators. I don't know if they have completely forgotten that a protagonist can just be some random person, or if the money at the top sees Mary-Sue-sploitation as a marketable story element.

This doesn't work for harry potter though because Voldemort caused his own downfall, if he hadn't gone to kill Young Harry then he wouldn't have made his own biggest enemy.

"All characters are equal, but some characters are more equal than others."

Mary Sue-sploitation is a direct result of Identity Politics: the belief that the "system" holds certain people back because of their race, sex, or orientation, and SJW writers think a good way to "re-rig the game to be fair" is to give minorities superpowers from the start. It's basically a form of Affirmative Action only it's being pushed in the realm of fiction, not the workplace.

It's also due to the laziness of SJW writers and consoomers. These soy-drenched folks are literally triggered at the thought of having to work hard for something, or having to stand on their own merits. They salivate at the idea of life just handing things to them, so that's how they like to imagine their power-fantasy main characters. Super Powers, Beauty, Moral Authority - SJWs think they're automatically entitled to these things just because they occupy a certain place on the Victim Stack. There's also an element of "For the CHILDREN" hysteria going on. Feminists screech : "You can't show a female hero getting injured, kidnapped, or having to WORK to achieve her goals! You'll discourage all of the little girls who look up to them as role models! You don't want little girls GIVING UP their dreams because they think they're TOO HARD!" Of course the end result of this is a bunch of entitled little brats who think life will be easy for them because they saw a movie where a sullen Mary Sue hero was handed powers and declared the most awesomest person in the galaxy because VAGINA. Then the little brats enter the workforce and are fired the first day because their bosses refuse to coddle them the way their pop culture media does.

Not to mention Harry had to work hard to learn how to cast a true patronus, was lousy at blocking legilimency, and had a lot of help from his friends, if not on the battlefield, then solving puzzles and riddles or learning how to do spells together.

God-Damn, I know it's gets said often but Millennials really are their parents on crack.

I can't watch this or other modern I've action Disney flicks. They're just utter shit. I don't who watches them. In fact who greenlit and directed and financed them. I loved jungle book growing up and just pictures and trailers of it were shocking in how bad they fucked up.

Mulan was a bad decision on many levels. Bad timing in its association with China. By working with them it appears they condone their recent antics in Hong Kong. Not to mention their thanking the Chinese Gestapo and their filming it in the region with the internment and shit. Even the actress is a fucking outspoken piece of shit. China is far to wily to not have understood all of this. One thing I remember from James Clavell (noble house I think it was) was how they factor some long term thinking in their investments, while we're thinking of that cash in our pockethts they're thinking twenty years down the tracks to how this deal will benefit their grandkids.

I wouldn't be surprised if they gave Disney a very temptingly lucrative deal on the production. Similar to how New Zealand panders to the film industry in order to bring in foreign investment. Like a prime minister zapping the unions when some movie project threatened to take their filming elsewhere if they had to pay union rates. New Zealand also had their army playing parts in films to cut down on the cost for extras in battle scenes. The army was marched out and they did sword fights and shit. No pay of course.

I'd imagine China offered them free food, accommodation and even furniture made of living Uyghurs ala Bruno. Like fucking scaffolding and lanes for tracking made of Uyghur bones. Just give the gweilo whatever it takes cos it's a huge endorsement.

This movie is another reminder in the long list that pandering to the left SJW or woke folk will get you nowhere. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile.

On the subject of real militaries being used as extras or more in film and/or TV productions, you will have an exponentially harder time finding a country who haven't done it past and present.

True, and Soviet Union tops the list with their epic War and Peace, 1967. In 195+ American War and Peace featuring Hepburn was piss in the face of Soviets, so a decade later they came up with their own epic monstrosity.

For shooting of the movie they used 20'000 soldiers as extras. I doubt that all of them wore uniforms, Soviet Union used army to build a lot of things, not just movie sets etc. It's cheap slave labor. Try wrapping your head around that! Braveheart by contrast had 1500 soldier extras that were used for mass scenes only, a far cry from Soviet epic, but still epic by Hollywood terms.

My point is, in a tyrannical regime, human labor is usually dirt cheap and thus the scale of using conscripts dwarfs feeble attempts of capitalist movie makers.

The important thing about Social Justice is that it replaces the regular notion of economic inequality with an emphasis on race/religion/sex based inequality. Which is already bad enough as it is, but it gets worse because the end goal of the movement is that the only people benefitting are the failure sons of daughters of already successful people.
You can see it culturally by the heroes of american cinema are no longer an everyman or people who worked hard, but perfect snowflakes who gets everything served on a platter, because that is literally the only reason the people behind those films do something greater than serving food in a McDonalds.

Yeah, as much as I have utterly embraced the "cackle madly and shitpost like a nigger in the face of all the horrible bullshit the world throws out" mindset, disney literally using concentration camp labour for a shitty live action remake and getting praised by media goons for the result being both woke and original is so goddamn despicable that the evil aspect might actually outweigh the hilarious absurdity of the whole situation.

And the fact that absolutely fucking nobody among the mobs of self proclaimed "anti fascist" and "anti capitalist" revolutionaries out there on the streets are directing any of their riots or property destruction against the empire of rats demonstrates just how full of shit every single one of them is, and how sorely deserving they are of the fate they so cheerfully ignore and enable being inflicted on the uygher-niggas.

I know that this sort of "prop up literal dictators and profiteer off the slave labour they provide you" schtick aint new for corporations, but the fact these same corporate entities present themselves as stunning and bravely woke for painting themselves with rainbows and tweeting fashionable hashtags and throwing money at the most trendy edgewoke shitbag demagogues they can find, and they get wall to wall fucking praise for doing so from the media and subhuman celeb and influencer drones for doing so, truly sickens me to my very soul.

This is one of the true plights of social justice: sticking to your convictions. People care about social justice until Asian countries and their dollars come into play.

There will never be a gay main lead in a blockbuster film. Why? They'll say it's because of bigoted Westerners, but that's not it. It's because that would mean censoring the film in other countries, meaning that the films become virtually unwatchable there and therefore receive no revenue from them. Look at The Wolf on Wall Street. A quarter of the film was censored in Dubai, making it virtually unwatchable. They even censored parts of Black Panther in Saudi Arabia.

There was a completely inconsequential lesbian kiss scene at the end of Rise of Skywalker. You think that scene was made based on the little creativity J. J. Abrams had? Naw. It was there to simultaneously boast about being woke while being able to take out the scene for viewing in countries like Singapore and Dubai.

They'll bitch about Donald Trump being a tyrant, when there's a literal tyrant in China putting Uyghurs in "re-education camps", kicking out Africans in fears that they may have contracted Corona-chan, and letting NBA China abuse its players and students.

And Disney and the bulk of the entertainment business endorses this. They're a bunch of soulless corrupted monkey cunts.

These remakes have been so awful and insulting that I am actually willing to take back everything I said about the direct-to-video sequels "era" of Disney.

At least the direct-to-video sequels had a purpose. They were meant for little kids to watch. "Oh, my kid loves the original Aladdin, so I'll let him watch these other movies to enjoy while I get some housework done today." That's what those movies are for, and you know what? Whatever, man. I get it, even if they're technically bad movies.

These live-action sequels have been made to pander to the adult baby millennials who clap like seals over everything and anything nostalgic. There is absolutely nothing redeeming about them.
