Muhammad Ali is hospitalized in the Phoenix area with what two people familiar with his condition say may be more serious problems than his previous hospital stays.

The 74-year-old boxing great is fighting respiratory issues that are complicated by the Parkinson's that he was diagnosed with in the 1980s, the people told The Associated Press on Thursday.

The two spoke separately in describing Ali's condition that they say is concerning to family members. They declined to be identified because they were not speaking on behalf of the family.

One of the least concerning sources, a lot of the other sources are particularly grim, and say he's on life support, and likely to succumb to his illness, though most sources either way go back to the Associated Press. Either way, it's very possible he might not make it.

I don't really believe in the afterlife, but if there is one, I know Ali is already there talking shit with Cooper, Patterson, Liston, Frazier and Norton.
 
You don't get to unironically call someone "the Great" anymore, but if ever there was an exception it was him.
 
I don't have many heroes who come from sports, but he was one. Perhaps the last one.

FUN FACT:

Muhammad Ali's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (in the category of "Live and Theatrical Performances") is the only one not physical on the Walk - it's mounted vertically on the wall of the Dolby Theatre.

Ali specifically requested it, because "Nobody can step on Muhammad Ali". And let's be honest, would you turn down a request by the man who fought the US Army and won?

What the fuck, we've lost so many great celebrities this year. David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Prince, and now Muhammad Ali. This suuuuuucks.
 
I'm not gonna lie, I know fuck-all about Ali, boxing or really sports in general.

This shit still makes me sad.
