i like how he says not to think of autism and such as disabilities but to accept their "way of thinking" when thats what led to chris in the first place as opposed to even lower functioning autistics who tried and overcame their illnesses to the point they could pick on chris
There's also the issue that regarding autists as "not in anyway worse, just different" means ignoring the fact that autism is a degenerative metabolic condition that literally shrinks the brain over time. Not to mention numerous other health problems throughout the body caused by autism, such as zinc and other nutrient deficiencies, susceptibility to heavy metal poisoning, depression, digestive problems, etc. Most of these can be treated to some extent, but in order to seek treatment you must first realize that you are actually sick. Telling autistic people that "you aren't sick just different" is devastating to their health; "neurodiversity" is to autists as "healthy at every size" is to fat people.
