I've noticed and remarked before that a lot of these people are A-listers in their own minds.
Not to powerlevel, but I just did a fast back-of-the-envelope calculation and I've had an average of 5.9 reaccs over my last 10 posts on social media. Certainly not earth shattering, but it's honest work. Cat gifs pay the muthafuckin bills, y'all.
The Ogre occasionally retweets something that gets some traction, but "traction" for him appears to be 22 likes instead of 1 or 2, out of an alleged 5,300 followers and change.
I don't think these people have actual real-life friends and I don't even think they have an internet crew.
For example, has our boy Jon ever been known to interact with another human in a friendly, non-creepy way? "Hey, mate, let's go throw a few back and watch the Leafs game?" "Hey, great time watching the Leafs game with you yesterday!" "Hey, do you have the game on? The Leafs are playing like fags." "Hey, if the Leafs ever play in front of an audience again, let's fly out and go to a game."
This is how I and most people I know use social media: random news articles, occasional bon mots or pieces of pithy wisdom, food pix, liveblogging the TV, bitching about Trump, sharing quarantine stories, and the aforementioned cat gifs... always the cat gifs. And of the people reacting, it's about 1/4 people I know IRL, 1/4 e-friends I've accumulated over the years, and 1/2 fellow nerds. I don't post something unless I think a handful of people are going to engage with it.
Every troon has the same shitty twatter that radiates self-importance, but there's no sense of fun, no sense of personality, no sense of community... no joy of being alive in this crazy moment in history where we can shoot the shit with people across the planet as easily as people in the next town.
JY and some of these fucks seem socially isolated in like an Eliot Rodger kind of way, like they could have an arsenal if they hadn't spent all their money getting their nuts waxed.
