Beauty of MonHun as a franchise is that it literally doesn't shove anything down your throat from newer iterations unless you've been thirstin for it, and then just makes it harder to deny so.
Did we play the same game retard? I think it's telling that the first thing the game does after character creation is teach you how to control the bird before you get to control your own character, and even that shit is on rails. Even during Gog, one of the final fucking monsters, you have Fabius vocally yelling at you to chase the monster on your bird because you literally cannot progress the fight without doing it. If that's not shoving it down your throat then your capacity for swallowing cock must border that of Anisa.

Story mode is story mode, and rest of the game is literally detached and much more classic. Let noobs do whatever since the great pussification of gaming already happened across the board and no corpo is going to go against that grain, but note the good ones who aren't astronomically enshittify their new titles to Soulsblivion.

Fluid weapon movement is good. Option of a taxi/allowing some ballistic cheese is also fine for utmost noobs who weren't going to explore older titles (legally) unavailable anywhere anyway now (and being Gaytendo exclusive counts as unavailable). Wasting inventory space for paint balls and chasing the spastic fucker Los across 15 inter-map load zones was never honestly fun in the old games. If you got so turned on smelling digital shit to track your honey a-la-World, just go watch some German porn and settle down a few notches.

From running into an area and realizing it's a boss area, soul; versus being taxied into something vaguely resembling a Saw hellscape of traps and triggers by your feathered raptor.

You had what, 20 missions per new area in MHGU before you actually hunted a monster? So much time spent just exploring and chilling. I miss that. Wilds has what, one endemic quest? Fishing? Even Rise had several.

Better yet, I can watch it on my phone while I wait for my bird to taxi me to the monster as opposed to exploring and playing the video game I payed for. Guess what, you're still chasing Rey Dau to the opposite end of the desert. You're still chasing Uth Duna to the top of the forest waterfall when it flees. You're still chasing Nu Udra to the dead end pits of oilwell. The difference now is that you don't have to touch the controller anymore.

I don't see how this is more interesting than learning monster pathing patterns from paintballs, or figuring out that you can lure a Rathalos towards you by picking up an egg at his nest instead of chasing him across the map like a retard who's never actually bothered to interact with the environment of the game hes playing. If you're going to get rid of tracking at least do what Rise did and make the act of traversing fun to use. The bird somehow manages to be just as uninteresting of a system yet even less involved compared to what we had in literally every game that came before.

You gotta catch those sand mice things, rock lizards, there are a bunch of endemic collectibles and some account for season/time of day to spawn. Otherwise you're literally welcome to run around and look for little things to catch at your leisure. The endemic bug and other-than-fish quest is from the researcher guy in one of the tents in the main camp.

Micro-managing the extra bug since it was a buff was low-level annoying when you just needed to get across the entire map. Temp buffs via fish streams and collecting other endemics was neat, but kind of extra.

Here's what I actually wonder - will Crapcom listen to players and code in some option not to use the bird sometime in the future, or not (and granted for players past the "story" tutorial).
