Unfortunately, learned helplessness is so ingrained in the wider gaming audience (myself included) that kikery like this gets a "grin and bear it" response (and a "don't ask questions, just consume product" response, accordingly, from the whales). If someone from any older era of gaming (or someone entirely out of the loop concerning gaming as whole) were to see the price people pay for some pixels they would be left aghast. To think, it all started with some innocuous looking horse armor...
You forget about the console peasents, no gemma congala-replacement mod for them.
Anyways, my short Update 1.011 review:
Hammer: the damage felt anemic before so the damage buffs are very welcome. Frankly it seems to be in a fine state from that alone so hopefully the TU2 changes don't overdo it.
Hunting Horn: minor animation cancel changes make it feel a tad bit nicer, I wouldn't mind a tad bit more.
Gunlance: apparently a damage nerf, but largely feels the same.
LBG and BG: Ammo changes, therefore who cares
Akuma: I riked it as a fun little gimmick (and the awkwardness of the controls is overblown), disappointing as Wild's first collab (the team should really be trying to WOW new players by frontloading their best update content, yet they've been moving at a snails pace. Being charitable, I'll chock it up to Crapcom management rather than the MH team).

New 8☆'s are good, should've been in the game from the start so I won't hand out too many kudos for that. 8☆ Gore has been a pub destroyer (with the playerbase increase, I can only assume that the average player is even worse than in World). A portent of good things to come regarding difficulty.
Regarding Charge Blade, my beloved, I can only assume from the absolute silence regarding potential changes that it is the designated "The Raped" weapon for this game (I'd put GunLance in that category during World, and Lance in that category for Rise).

Spite is the greatest motivator, spite will drive people to do whatever it takes even at a cost to themselves. Death is a price worth paying for some people. Besides, Crapcom knows damn well they have enough """fans""" to get away with anything because they'll just come back in the long run.
INB4 the expansion releases and people forget how shit Wilds is and even try to gaslight people into thinking it was never content starved. Fuck me, people do it now. As said before, Capcom "fans" are painful "loyal", Risebreak maintains a 10k average despite being so mediocre with no more new content, Worldborne doubled it's 30k-40k playerbase in 2024 with their "Return to World" thingy and kept it huge with strategically placed deals, no doubt even Wilds might be able to pull that off if they don't Dragon's Dogma 2 it for some ungodly reason. MH went from niche, to still niche but more known to general Capcom fans, then to one of their main flagship titles with a single fucking release (Iceborne included as it's an expansion), even the average niggercattle who plays games knows MH now. They would be shooting themselves in the dick with a 4 gauge if they don't capitalize on this.

Miss that bird fuck, I really do. If they ever bring it back I hope they add more monster calls.

Steve and Lagi together is pretty neat, and genuinely kind of unexpected. More blueballing on water combat, but it's cool they at least did something so Lagi could somewhat shine. I guess. Just makes me wonder if they'll find a way to use it for Uth too, and if they end up expanding it for full combat later.
The fender collab is kinda neat, but I'm far more interested in if they're gonna do an actual run of those Telecasters because I'd be very tempted to grab one. Last chance I had to get a sick ass Tele crossover was a beautiful Asuka/EVA-02 styled limited run that went for like 7k new and ballooned to to the 10's afterwards.
It's funny that doomer videos are only now starting to pop up. If Rurikan is being actually critical things are dire.

Steve was in Rise so I don't really care that much, and Lagiacrus was kept faithful by making him not really that fun to fight just like in every other game he was in. Nice

Haven't had time to play the new update, but from watching gameplay:
Seregios looks good, it's one of my favorite monsters and they did well. Didn't want to play Rise so I'm glad I can fight it in a new MH.
Lagiacrus looks much less interesting, ironically. Is the underwater section forced every time, or just for that specific quest? If so, that will be enough to make me not fight it more than needed.

Haven't gotten to much yet, but Charge Blade being unraped was a pleasant surprise. With that done I'd say that all the weapons are in a fairly balanced/enjoyable state (at least when compared to each other, the overall player balance when compared to the monsters could be debated).

Steve is really fun and his gear might be my favorite so far. I'll do Lagi after I eat.
Idk if the Fashion Hunter quest was part of last update or this one, but it was kinda funny even if entirely fucking pointless. And I'm actually peeved over still not being able to let my critters run around. Fuck off with your shitty model viewer.
I did the SF6 collab quest and you know what? I had a blast. The interaction is silly, and once I got the hang of the akuma controls I dominated the hunt. I just wish when using the akuma "weapon" that you had a guard to mimic the parry.

I've fought him a few times and it seems that the underwater section is mandatory. Pretty annoying if you're trying to beat him in a reasonable time lol

I liked the fight quite a bit. The underwater section drags, but if we could use our weapons.. whatever. I had fun. It's nice spectacle like Jin to shake things up now and then.

Underwater section bugged out for me multiple times. After grappling to Lagiacrus and damaging it I would "fall" down to an invisible floor underwater, the only way to leave was fast traveling. This happened three times and all I did was grab it's face and use weapon attacks.
Afterwards the game asked me if I wanted to use Erik over Alma, no I don't want a character voiced by a tranny to follow me around thank you.
Seregios was alright but it involved me having to listen to brown children, didn't get any bugs but it was a regular monster fight with no real gimmick so I didn't expect any.
My palico's layered armor selection is fucking bugged though and if I scroll down too far the game just crashes, no mods or anything.
6/10 update at best, more ill fitting DLC added (cyberpunk cat street wear), content trickle feels even worse with this update.

A fake underwater section with Lagiacrus capcom is just trolling at this point. That or they finally just made it to shut up that one really annoying employee who will not will not stop talking about the most underwhelming box art monster. Only good thing about Lagiacrus was the armor.

Kinda late, but in my case I'm probably lucky to have a bit more improvement for the game performance with this patch.
I have some fun with Tempered Lagia and Sergio, even with their one-shot move or two, three shot combo ones. Water section at first from Lagia is horrible, but it gets more manageable if you know the timing. Mostly wait for Lagia shoots two electro balls then you have a window to grapple on him. Having evade extender definitely feels much better against both Lagia and Sergios.
Also amusing enough, Capcom intentionally put rare drop, gem, as required mats for three out of five armor pieces. Oh no, the players are completing new contents way too fast.
Even JPs start to hate more against Capcom openly to the point Capcom (JP only) has to issue a statement against "slander and harassment" to company themself. Machine translate from Capcom page.
Some call out to Capcom bullshit on twitter.
Nerf (SnS damage nerf I think?), breaking hardware, Limited-time event monsters (current arch tempered Rey Dau), crashing on PC,
