That was an issue in Worlds too.
I want to say it's even worse than world because of all the UI hoops bullshit you have to go through. It was easier to quit out once the cutscene ended then go straight to the quest board which was always in the same spot. Now you have to find your tent or find Alma which you're being ping ponged between all 4 locals. You talk to Alma, you might misclick her dialogue, and progress the story campaign. And half the time you get a communication error when given the auto invitation.

Yeah no, you definitely never touched a MH game before maybe World, if even then. And just like the sweepers you're pretending to know what you're talking about. Complete with gaslighting.
I bought the first MH on Ps2 when it first came out, and played every entry outside a gap here and there in the early DS era since I wasn't a big enough of a faggot to own a DS as a kid. It literally stopped being hard at Freedom for me and became a literal brain off game series. (Except frontier what the fuck was that cancer shit)
It's a simple game with repetitive progression that was primarily timegated with extra low % drops to complete builds giving a solid list of goals to tick off to make the brain juices happy, less the case now on the extra low %'s, and that's still fine. The fight's were never difficult outside gauging how aggressive you could be with your comfort level of the moveset. Simple repetition.

UPDATE: They denied my refund despite me citing numerous crashes and performance issues. Pretty disappointed in Valve. They're usually good about refunding people after a disastrous launch like this.

Tranny? I haven't gotten to the other spider but if it's the character I'm thinking your talking about it's just a autistic effeminate guy. It's a Japanese character trope.
Being voiced by an actual troon probably doesn't help people's first impressions:

Yeah the character is voiced by a nonbinary dude but the character is stated to be a he in the game, so I just kinda ignore him.

So it's not an actual trans character and it's just a tranny English VA and he's just freaking out about nothing?
I mean he's not freaking out over nothing, Tranny's shouldn't be working in the games industry at all

Been having fun with the game and hast crahsed. I dont know if the game is easier compared to previous entry but ive been enjoying. I can see why vets of the series would think is easy since i feel the game is easy for what it is. That said its something different and playing with friends is enjoyable. My only real gripe is the constant chatter and cinematic bombardments, i just wanna play the fucking game.

I dont know what world you live in where Ajanth was a wall, Kushala is less a wall and just annoying (I miss poison disabling the wind...) since pre-nerf the solution was just flashbang chains and Nergigante was kinda a joke too
If you're playing the game blind, Anja/Kush/Nerg WILL fuck you up, Anja and Nerg do crazy high damage at the points in the game where you fight them and people don't subconsciously know shit like pre-nerf flashbang spam or how to dodge Nerg's Divebomb. Obviously they're very easy once you're properly geared and start farming them but the first time kicks alot of people's teeth in.

As far as I know, Erik is just a feminine dude. Fuck the VA though, legitimately looks like he crawled out of Innsmouth's waters with those fish eyes.

I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, it's a fun series and hopefully you end up dipping your toes into some of the previous games, there's alot of content to go through and as a bonus, you won't have to deal with the forced story as much.

It's been a good time as a long time veteran of the game and the series getting over a million players on Steam is pretty awesome. I'm hoping Capcom continues to release more monsters. Happy Hunting!

It might need to be borderline unplayable to everyone, including people with powerful hardware. Either that or something else so egregious it has people in an uproar, notable example being The Day Before. Valve only reacts when shit goes down, probably why they're doing so well, Luigi Valve wins by doing absolutely nothing, but that doesn't always mean we win.

I've already said it but how easy they made the game is an insult to long time fans. The betas were fine, difficulty was like it should be. I got drunk and sleep walked through a shit load of monsters tonight, where with other installments id have the fun of difficulty+goofy juice. I pop a sos flare before the fight because I prefer to hunt with other people, but 100% of the time I kill the monster before somebody can join through the broken sos system. The emphasis on positioning and learning monsters isn't there because there's no reason to, just use focus mode to easily on weak spots with no draw back.

I really really want to like this game but I have not seen any sort of marked increase in difficulty, its insultingly easy.
That's not to say anything if the garbage story or the annoying forced walking segments. I had a movie going on my other screen and let the sekrit lead the way because I couldnt care less about the noble savages who were to stupid to even think of fighting back against monsters. Good gracious is the story bad.

Another series ruined not by woke but by general gaming enshittification. And that's coming from the abhorrent mess known as PD3.

I like it alot, it's very fun. The seikret bird mounts are as good as the dogs in Rise, if not better. Dual weapons is nice quality-of-life, I like that glowflies came back from World but without having to scrape fluids or read footprints anymore. I like that Hot & Cool Drinks are effectively gone from the series, and paintballing isn't required. I don't really mind that the game feels easier, I'd rather win than lose, and really the "winning" is in the second-to-second gameplay of getting hit or not. Eating a few hits shouldn't ruin my whole run, and re-running it I'm already motivated to do better than my last attempt if it was sloppy. I'm sure people will philosophically disagree but I'm over the arguments about just how punishing a game has to be.

My biggest complaint is just how incredibly dogshit and japanese the multiplayer is. Solo is fine. If you want to try playing with randos with SOS Flare, or want to answer SOS flares, fine. If you want to play with your friends? What an absolute disaster. The menus are complete ass and everything is given a new and/or vague name to obfuscate the process. It took entirely too long, at least 3 hours, of trial and error to effectively play with my friends, who all have varying amateur or professional IT or engineering experience. There's a variety of lobby categories, there's a crossplay-enabled friend list, there's squads. But it's all poorly explained and hard to actually accept/invite/navigate and really unclear what you're doing or when you'll see people. Everything revolves around a Member List, the lobbies are useless, and you basically can't rely on seeing anyone outside of a direct quest encounter with a big monster. You can't count on a friend knowing to join your Quest(already in progress!) unless you're already in voice chat trying to coordinate this multiplayer jank, and probably will have to explain whether it's Lobby Quests or Linked depending on how closely you're organized, and you effectively immediately phase out taking one step out of town, or in the open world as soon as the quest rewards are doled out from an Expedition/Field open quest. Are you the wrong HR rank or just not far enough in the campaign? EAT SHIT, guess you can only fight Chatacabras and chickens, haha. It's a fucking mess compared to older games, Rise and World were much cleaner on these fronts. If you like a rando you played with, there's almost no way to actually start chatting about similar interests or even communicate with them easily to make a friendship that could ever extend outside of the Wilds game. It's a real mess. The actual gameplay is fun, that saves it.

Focus mode is so fucking annoying to use that i stopped using it. It literally tunnel visions you, so youll most likely miss things in your surroundings like health pods and such. Tried it once and then never again.

Just got done doing the Rompomplo optional, less than 5 minutes. After 10 hours I think the biggest crux to my issues with combat is the focus mode. I saw my concerns come to actualization from miles away when they started to explain focus mode post reveal. Touching the cornerstones of MH combat, positioning and commitment, could very likely lead to disaster, absolutely giving way to bland combat. GU had its questionable addition such as absolute evasion, and RiseBreak with its wire bugs. But they both had limits on their use. Not only does focus mode accomplish negative change to combat it only exacerbated it by including flinches and knock downs via the wound system. You could spend indefinite time in focus mode with little consequences. You break wounds, you get a knock down, wail on the poor thing, rinse and repeat until it's a slush pulp in the dirt. Outside of focus mode trivializing fights, I enjoy what they did with HH, it's not perfect, but I am having fun in the fleeting minutes I get to hunt.

I'm using charge blade, it's one of the few ways of turning on the pizza cutter mode (which has been heavily buffed, my god), so sadly I have to use it.
It feels like I'm exploiting the game because you can use it to do 180 degree turns on AEDs and SAEDs, positioning doesn't really matter too much on it anymore and I'm not sure how to feel about it.
