Four more people have been diagnosed with monkeypox in the UK, bringing the total number of cases in the latest outbreak to seven.

All four new patients are gay or bisexual men who were infected in London and had no travel links to Africa, health chiefs have confirmed after MailOnline broke the news earlier today.

Two are known to each other but have no connection to any of the previous cases, in a sign the virus is spreading in the community for the first time.

Nurses and doctors are being advised to stay 'alert' to patients who present with a new rash.

Monkeypox is often mistaken for more common rash illnesses like chickenpox, measles, scabies and syphilis, which makes it difficult to diagnose early.

Dr Susan Hopkins, chief medical adviser at the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), said: 'This is rare and unusual.

'UKHSA is rapidly investigating the source of these infections because the evidence suggests that there may be transmission of the monkeypox virus in the community, spread by close contact.

'We are particularly urging men who are gay and bisexual to be aware of any unusual rashes or lesions and to contact a sexual health service without delay.'

All seven UK cases have tested positive for the West African strain of the virus, which is believed to be milder than other versions.

Monkeypox is a rare viral infection which causes unusual rashes or lesions (shown in a handout provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the US

Exactly how the new patients acquired the infection 'remains under urgent investigation', the UKHSA said.

The rare viral infection which kills up to one in ten of those infected but does not spread easily between people. It is transmitted via respiratory droplets during prolonged face-to-face contact or bodily fluids.

MailOnline has learned that at least one sexual health clinic in West London had started implementing tougher infection control measures this morning, including a one-metre social distancing rule in waiting rooms.

A source told MailOnline that some health teams were breaking ranks from national guidance and 'perhaps putting in measures locally'.

The UKHSA announced on May 7 that a person who had recently travelled to Nigeria had contracted the infection.

It was believed they contracted the illness in Nigeria, where monkeypox is endemic, before travelling to the UK.

Two more cases were announced on Saturday, in two individuals who lived in the same household but were not linked to the initial case.

The rare tropical disease, which causes flu-like symptoms and blisters on the skin, is caused by a virus spread by monkeys, rats, squirrels and other small mammals.

A World Health Organization report last year suggested the natural R rate of the virus – the number of people each patient would infect if they lived normally while sick – is two.

But the real rate is likely much lower because 'distinctive symptoms greatly aid in its early detection and containment,' the team said, meaning it's easy to spot cases and isolate them.

Up to 10 per cent of people who become ill with monkeypox will die and most deaths from the virus occur in younger age groups, according to the WHO.

The first case of monkeypox in a human was recorded in 1970 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and has since been detected in a number of central and wester African countries.

Most cases are reported in the DRC and Nigeria.

In 2003, the disease was detected in the US when an outbreak occurred following the importation of rodents from Africa.

The first cases were detected in the UK in 2018, when three people contracted the virus after a man travelled back from Nigeria including an NHS nurse who had been caring for a patient and blamed her PPE.

The incident meant more than 50 people were warned they had been exposed to the potentially deadly virus however no other cases were recorded from that outbreak.

A further case was detected in London in December 2019 and another two cases were detected in North Wales in 2021. All cases were thought to have been caught by travellers who had been to Nigeria.

A WHO report in 2020 explained that human-to-human transmission of the virus is rare and that the longest chain of cases appears to only have been six people before it ended.

The report said: 'The epidemic risk for humans is considered to be small.'

EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.

Can we finally just call a spade a spade, and publicly admit that the gay community is a plague pit?
Apparently, this has been known throughout basically nearly every culture and time. Homosexual male degeneracy was rightly seen as a threat to society as a whole and now we see very clearly why.

Bluecheck Covid cultist epidemiologist is freaking out about the case numbers, claiming that such increasing rates of infections are not normal. Also says that it is probably all over Europe.

He's being a little alarmist. Although, he's correct regarding the number. It's likely the largest outbreak outside of Africa ever. As far as the rate of infection, most of it is likely what is known as the "observation effect". They are now actively looking for cases, so they are more likely to find them. When not looking for cases it is likely that people who were impacted were told they had any number of things. Most medical doctors wouldn't be capable of diagnosing monkeypox since it is such a rare disease outside of Africa. Now that they know what the symptoms and appearance of it are, they are now likely capable of correctly diagnosing it.

My understanding is that tinctures made from Sarracenia Purpurea also known as the pitcher plant were effective in disrupting smallpox replicatio back in the day.. I have attached a paper that describes how and why this remedy works for smallpox, monkeypox, faggotpox, etc.

Sarracenia Purpurea is selling out quickly. Do with that as you will.

if Monkeypox is not stopped soon and cases go up by the summer and keep going by the end of this year
and the majority infected are gay men
I really wonder how the MSM, late night hosts, leftwing jornos, etc. are going to report this and how the government will handle this without blaming gay men
this is going to get very interesting
Remember the first days of covid when our leaders made us hug a chino? Same, except it's "suck a gay's dick" this time to prove they're not a danger and we aren't bigots.

This is another manmade spinoff of an existing virus they unleashed because covid didn't give them enough time to clamp down and enact one world government. This one is being blamed on gays (intentionally playing on "masculine insecurity") so cons/MAGA boomers have an excuse to take it seriously and support lockdowns, business vaccine mandates, etc. when it "unexpectedly" becomes airborne and sweeps across America.

I may or may not actually believe this.

Christ, there's no saving these people. You'd think "Quit having anonymous butt orgies" is the easiest advice to follow when it comes to not just public health but your own health, but the gays have now proven us wrong for the second time.

I don't care about bias. I always found homosexuality to be repugnant, not just the fact I find other men unattractive but the idea of sticking my dick up a womans shitpipe was always gross as fuck, heterosexual couples who do anal are just gross plain and simple. But the numerous diseases from the gay community only serve to reinforce the belief that they have nothing on heterosexual relationships. No amount of legal/social bullshit will ever convince me gay relationships are equal to heterosexual and are nothing more than a gross caricature. I still remember years ago where Spain reported two gays found a way to turn Dengue fever into an STI, truly a beautiful thing.

Dear bisexuals, please keep this shit away from the rest of us and just commit to being gay.

A significant portion of all STDs would be rare or nonexistent if people would just stop being whores/whoremongers, but it seems like for whatever reason the "gay community" especially struggles in the horny department.

Not saying "no hand holding until marriage" just that it's not healthy physically or emotionally to have had like 25 different partners by the time you're 25.

I honestly wouldn't give this much prudence. This paper stands on a bunch of quotes from some sources of dubious veracity from the 19th century and a study was only done with a bunch of cells where the active compound was never identified. All they had was a crude tincture. It was also quite cytotoxic with the difference between a 50% effective dose, and a 50% toxic dose only being a factor of 5, which is very low. There are no toxicity, mutagenicity, or teratogenicity experiments done. I wouldn't generally recommend taking anything that may give you cancer or cause your liver to fail just to avoid something that, if you had absolutely no medical support, only has a 1% chance of fatality. There is a safe, effective, and approved treatment for monkeypox. Who in their right mind would rather try a smashed up plant that contains literally who-knows-what, rather than a proven treatment?

Part of the problem is that HIV/AIDS treatments have improved to the point where it isn't as scary to people anymore, despite the fact that a lot of these treatments have some pretty nasty side effects. That, and the popularity of hook up apps in addition to the ease of international travel is creating a perfect storm again.

  • Has an unexplained rash
  • Traveled in the last 30 days to a country with recently confirmed or suspected cases of monkeypox
  • Was in contact with a person with confirmed or suspected monkeypox
  • Is a man who reports sexual contact with other men
This is like a prompt for ‘draw the grossest Venn diagram you can possibly imagine.’
Do it. I dare you.

I agree. A person would live far better and longer with HIV now compared to many types of cancer, a myocardial infarction that is severe, a severe stroke, practically any of the degenerative disorders such as early onset parkinson's, early onset alzheimer's, huntington's disease, etc...

There are people who acquired HIV in the 1980's that are still alive, have not progressed to AIDS, and are still in generally good health, This is only because medical technology has stayed consistently one step ahead of the progression of their disease. There are very few serious diseases and disorders where one can live 40+ years.

People haven't seen HIV as a death sentence since HAART was invented, which was right around the mid 90's.

You know why, it's inherent to the dick. Vageen+vageen= no problem, vageen+peen= problem , peen+peen= problem²

I prefer the fags and other sexpests being able to live as free and open as possible, so normies like me can give a wide berth
