Thoughts on the Netflix MVP card this Saturday?
I’m interested to see how it goes, even with the uncs and the retired moms I think it has the potential to be a good thing for the sport in terms of having something other than the UFC so that market competition can be encouraged in the US.
I will watch everything except the main event, should be good, plenty of dogs and scrappers. Great timing by jake, this weekend UFC card blows

I'll watch it out of idle curiosity but I question how it will work as a going concern.

Fine, you have your card with some big ex-UFC people this weekend but what do you do for your next one?

It's great to have someone making UFC look over their shoulder a bit due to their recent slide in quality/lowballing fighters but an upstart rival promotion is going to struggle.

It's just going to be another iteration of "celebrity"/has-beens that they've done just like with their boxing/exhibition matches. I understand why people want any competitor with the UFC but I have no faith unless they start paying out the ass to legitimate fighters because this type of gimicky fighting shit is not going to last much longer imo.

Haven't paid much attention to the build up and probably not going to watch live. Ronda probably smokes Gina, Ngannou wins, and Nate Diaz whoops Mike Perry.

I don't even know who wanted this. Ronda got beaten into retirement and I had no desire to ever see her fight again. Carano has been retired for years. They're both relatively irrelevant.

You want to know a while, insane stat about how long Carano has been out of the game that I saw on X?
Gina Carano retired in August 2009. Max Holloway debuted in professional MMA in September 2010...

Max Holloway has had his entire MMA career that is still ongoing in between her retirement and her coming back now.

Thats absolute insanity.

Rondas stand up is still abysmal. Gina got into amazing shape, unless shes taking a dive to get arm barred, Id bet on her.
I mean, I never liked Ronda. She always felt like a Gooner Bait fighter and any time she fought someone even remotely real, she crumbled instantly. It was never a contest. She'd just flat out lose. Her entire career hinged on putting butts in seats.
